RuneScape Information

  1. You could go the old-fashion way and smelt the Steel Bars with the ores and sell them for profit. Steel Bars only give 17.5 experience points per bar, but if you smelt in bulk and use Superheat magic it can go pretty fast.
  2. Well, I'm F2P so I'm not sure if my suggestion is really valid, but I trained from 70-83 STR on Flesh Crawlers and the Giant Spiders in the Stronghold of Security. The drops are next to nothing, but if you train with Strength Potions on the Giant Red Spiders you can get some nice experience points.
  3. Alright, thanks for the replies. I timed it out just to verify and I can load my inventory, walk to the furnace, smelt my bars, walk back, and deposit in exactly one minute in Al Kharid (about 40 seconds if I have run energy). It was taking me about a minute and half in Falador.
  4. That thought had occured to me, but that would also mean buying Nature Runes in bulk; something I don't really have the money for if Smithing is ultimately going to make me lose money in the process.
  5. I plan on doing quite a bit of smelting to level up my Smithing level towards my goal (level 85). I'm on my way to 76 right now, but I was wondering where the best place to smelt would be in a F2P world. Right now I'm going from Falador west bank to the furnance in the town, but is there a closer one that requires less walking/running? Thanks!
  6. Thanks for the replies! I probably should've added that I'm F2P, so I won't be able to cast any of the lunar spells. What kind of equipment set-up is recommended to use? I read that wearing full armor would slow you down a lot even though it provides the best defense. Would Dragonhide armor be preferable?
  7. Hello everyone. It's been a while since I've logged onto RuneScape and I've noticed there's a new mini-game called Fist of Guthix. I was reading the guide on this site and I had a few questions: What type of combat are you allowed to use if you are the hunter? Is it melee, range, or magic? Do you get to choose? If so, what's the most advantageous to use? Also, I noticed that this game was labeled as "low-risk". What exactly does this mean? I assume this means you can't die or lose any items what-so-ever, but I wasn't sure. If you lose against your opponent, do they get any of your items? And one last question: are you supposed to go out there with a friend, or does the game automatically pair you up with another player? Thank you!
  8. There really isn't a huge difference between level 65 and 70 as far as speed goes. If he's using a Rune Axe, regardless if he's a member or not it'll be the same speed. The only factor to pay attention to is crowds. But yeah, 70 or so would be fine... just a bit slow.
  9. Alright, I guess I'll just attack him with range and melee when the colors come up. It's too much of a hassle for me to keep changes spells. It's a waste of runes if you ask me. The reason I'm so paranoid is because I was inches away from death last time. I underestimated the stupid thing. :shame:
  10. Yeah, I read that in the Quest Guide but my only question there is where are the safe spots? If he can range you, there technically aren't any safe spots, are there?
  11. I'm at the end of the quest and all I need to do is kill that big Dagganoth creature that changes colors, but I'm having a really hard time keeping up with the changes. By the time it takes me to click and cast a certain elemental spell, the thing switches colors and I can never land a decent hit on it. Not only that, but with protect from melee on it still hits me quite often with its range attacks. My question is what's the best way to beat this thing? Should I just wait for a certain color (which sometimes it's REALLY hard to tell what color it is; the change is so subtle) or what? I figured my combat level was high enough, so all I brought along was food and some Prayer Potions. Am I just going about this fight the wrong way? Thanks a lot!
  12. Alright, thanks for the advice. Right now I'm just going after Copper Longtails but my Bird Snare fails about 80% of the time. Does your level determine how often it succeeds, or does it just depend on the bird? Because if level effects the success rate of catching a bird, I might just stick with Crimson Swifts rather than going to the next best bird. Thanks again.
  13. Should I just stick to one kind or should I hunt the best bird I can at the time?
  14. Hey everyone. I'm looking for a really good Hunter guide from the AOW or something that will help me find quick ways to gain experience and level up. I just started Hunter today and I'm only level 9, but the training seems to be going very slow. What are some quick ways to get to about level 30 Hunter? Thank you!
  15. I'll be purchasing an Abyssal Whip here pretty soon (after 3 more Attack levels) and I was curious about how the training works as well. Are whips mainly used to train Defence and Attack? Because I had planned on selling my Dragon Scimitar once I got my whip, but if the scimitar is better than the whip for training Strength then I'll use it.
