Yeah maybe. I'm not too good with detailed hair.
-
Was done a couple of days ago, but I couldn't post it here.
About 1h30, no direct refs.
-
Done. Took awhile, thats my first complete work with a tablet
-
Added latest work WIP

You have an interesting way to draw them, tho I think the hair should come in clumps a bit more. I'll try your way on my next drawing
-
Fyi, the only reason I post links to tuts and criticisms, is because I want you to became a better artist. I'll get together how I do hair after school, won't be much, just a small coverage.
Did I ever pretend something else?
If I did, then srry, it was unintentional

I only used dodge on the top left one actually.
I guess I'm too used working small cause of pixel art
And I have already read that tripsis, but ty anyways :)
-
Some tuts say you should use burn/dodge, just not overdo it, and use low opacity.
-
^I already read a couple (10 or so) hair tuts, now just trying to learn myself the little things tuts can't teach you.
But thanks anyways.

Figured I'd use the same topic for this.
Still with GIMP, tablet. I don't know how much time so far, probably over 3 hours, still got to clean up and detail
UPDATE: Pretty much done, I decided to keep the forest abstract because I liked it better that way, total time between 5-6 hours

K, did a small example, pretty basic and not that good, but I'll explain a few things
I started with your sig.
I use GIMP with all default stuff.
Basically, I used flame renders (filters>render>nature (I think)>flame). I used them on dodge layers and burn layers. Then I used some brushes to blend the bottom of the render, brushed on a value layer at low opacity.
After that, I played around with color balance, contrast, lightness and saturation.
I also erased abit the layers on top of the render so some of the basic colors stayed.
I'm a beginner at this (this is my 5th one I think), so all I do is more by instinct than by experience. So just play around with stuff, don't be afraid to try.
Hope that helps, pm me if you're not sure about some stuff.

Erm.. just double click on the box that shows current color? :?
-
Needs more dark areas, but I like it
-
Then get a program that has them, else you're gonna be stucked using already existing c4ds, you can still make good sigs, but it doesnt leave much freedom.
Try GIMP or PS trial
-
Light source too bright, other than that good job for a first
-
No blending at all there, looks like a render pasted on the bg.
To blend, you have to use brushes (or c4ds) that overlap a little or completely the render, while still blending in the background.
I can't explain it really better
-
Dunno, I like the original more, the light killed the depth, thats my own opinion.
-
Have fun with the new tablet : )
We'll be expecting some paintings out of you :
Sure :)
Btw your art is amazing

GIMP 2.2
-
Yeah, not really hard to do, but looks cool.
Maybe detail it some more
-
Pink floyd
I like the colors and the shading.
However, I think it lacks dynamism, the characters poses are somewhat stiff.
I also think you should detail the background more, not leave it that empty. Maybe add some curtains?
Oh and one last nitpick, the orange guitar shouldn't be outlined with such a dark color, maybe use a softer purple?
Good luck finishing this :)

You mean those express keys things?
I only use the zoom one, I'm just so used to keyboard shortcuts I do them without noticing
-
So, do you want me to crit this?
But yeah, tabs are awesome. Wish I had one. :P
You can if you wish, but not really asking for it since this was just my first test with a tablet, not going to work on in any further.

Just did a small 2mins sketch to try it out, its pretty fun

Hm, correct me if I'm wrong but if you can't see a portion of the sky beneath the clouds, that must mean it's actually smoke coming from the ground, no?
Looks nice tho.
