  1. Towards the end of the guide, under the bullet about runecrafting with the abyss, and number 5 beneath that, "With the advent of Construction, it has become popular to mount a glory in a skill hall within the house" Glories are not mounted in Skill Halls, they are mounted in Quest Halls. I searched "mount glory" and because of this error built a skill hall, which was a waste of money. Perhaps a note should be added to the Construction Guide that mentions mounted glories being a popular method of transportation.
  2. There are two explanations for why the method of doubling your bet when losing is effective, one being mathematical and another being basic logic: 1. say you plan to box five times. Each match, your chances are 50/50. The chances of losing (or winning) the first two duels is 25% (1/2^n, where n is the number of duels in a row with the same outcome). So, losing all five duels has a 3.125% chance of occuring. Every subsequent loss implies a lower chance of losing again, therefore making this method profitable. However, for those of you that continue to refuse that the 50/50 chance is inescapable, see 2. 2. If you lose a few boxing matches and then win one by this method, the win will make up for all of the losses and yield profit equal to the quantity staked in the first duel. If you can afford to continue doubling your bets, you will eventually win, and you will always profit. Hence, it is extremely important to avoid getting to greedy when deciding how much to stake on the first duel. Say you have 500m. Can you start with a 50m stake? Well, probably. But if you lose three in a row, you're cleaned. So DON'T DO IT. Decide the number of losses in a row you would like to be able to cover, and then calculate what your first bet should be based on your current wealth. Use the formula, where W = your total wealth, and n equals the number of duels you want to be able to afford to lose, doubling the bet on each. W(1/2^n). This will tell you how much to stake on the first duel. Round it down. So, with 500m, if you want to be able to lose 10 times, you would start at 500k. Not much profit. 8 losses? 2m. 6 losses? 8m. Etc. I've watched this method work for a routine 500m+ profit per night on an ~8b net wealth. Also, remember to always switch combat stances, as Hakkan explained. If you know you're going to probably lose during a stake, kick instead of using the +3 att stance while alternating.
  3. It is generally accepted that the best chaotic weapon is the Chaotic Rapier. Some will argue that the Chaotic Longsword can be better, but this is a rare opinion. I'd suggest the rapier, but it isn't a big difference.
  4. I did the Oak larders up to lvl 60. Should I continue doing this? I'm looking for one of the fastest possible methods, but not ridiculously expensive. I know it will cost me roughly 7m, depending on the method I use.
  5. I'd just like to mention that my desire for 99's does not come from the fact that I would achieve a skillcape, but because of the 99 itself. Sure, I'd still get the cape and enjoy it, but if I'm training runecrafting, I'll still wear a spottier cape over it.
  6. Hmm..... I seem to recall searching "new crystal bow" and no results came up. Maybe I was mistaken or something. I don't remember.
  7. Thanks shasta, yeah, that was the bow I was talking about lol. Thanks!
  8. I was going to look up the Saradomin Bow, when I realized that it is absent from the ranged skill guide. The "New Crystal Bow" is also missing. Are these being added soon? Thanks.
  9. Bump? new to this forum, not sure if that's how the updates & corrections board works.
  10. Sounds great. I have provided the information on Carnivorous Chinchompas. I can provide a screenshot if necessary. I don't know which other monsters are missing, though. Just a reminder: Carnivorous Chinchompa 10 LP Examine: It looks fluffy and cute; it's probably deadly. Drops: None Notes: Explodes upon death, dealing 20 damage to its killer.
  11. Simply because you cannot kill them the normal way (chimps explode and you need to trap the other animals). They are no combat monsters. Also I don't see any reason to add them to the database as they don't add anything valuable because you are better of reading the hunter guide. You can actually kill Carnivorous Chinchompas though. They just deal 20 damage upon death. They have 10 hp and can be killed via normal combat.
  12. The guide for F2P Quest The Blood Pact has a few errors. It says that Kayle drops Kayle's Bow and bronze arrows when he dies. Actually, "Kayle's Sling" drops, with no arrows. It doesn't use ammunition. Also, Caitlin's staff uses no runes, and there are no runes dropped upon Caitlin's death. These errors should be corrected throughout the guide and also in the "Rewards" section.
  13. Thanks Jaffy. That's interesting that none of the Hunter monsters have been added to the bestiary. I wonder why.
  14. low alching teaks...? Why low, why teaks? And what is LRC?
  15. Interesting, I never thought about alching in soul wars....
  16. Before being caught, it IS a monster. Its combat level is 2. It is a Carnivorous Chinchompa, but when caught, it's name becomes Red Chinchompa. Most things hunted are not actual monsters, you are right. However, the Carnivorous Chinchompa is indeed a monster. Being new to the forums, I'm not sure how to include a screenshot... Else I would do so. I'm hunting them right now. Lol.
  17. Alright, thanks. That's more than I thought. Yeah, between inconsistent clicking, randoms, and other interruptions, ~1000/hr would probably be accurate.
  18. The Carnivorous Chinchompa (hunted for the Ranged ammo Red Chinchompa) is missing from the Bestiary. 10 hp, deals 20 dmg upon death. Examine: It looks fluffy and cute; it's probably deadly. As far as I know, they never drop anything.
  19. I'm sure this question has been answered a thousand times, but I'm just curious. If high alching nonstop, how many can be performed per hour?
  20. I believe either is correct, but regardless, this is not a grammatical correction...
  21. In the Ranged Skill Guide, under, "Weapons", then "Crossbows and Bolts", about midway through the first paragraph: "A crossbow is less accurate than the equivalent bow, so it will hit more zeros." This is incorrect. This is only true for the "Shortbow" and "Longbow", which have a "ranged att value" of +8, as compared to the "Crossbow" which has +6. For all other comparisons, the crossbow in question will be significantly more accurate than the corresponding longbow and shortbow. Example: Runite Crossbow: +90 ranged att. Magic Longbow/Shortbow: +69 ranged att. For all practical applications, the crossbow is more accurate. Correction: "A crossbow is less MORE accurate than the equivalent bow, so it will hit more LESS zeros." It would also be useful to note that the crossbow fires slower. I'm not sure if this was mentioned or not. I know that its superior strength (higher hits) was mentioned.
  22. I highly disagree with the editor's strategies for leveling, constantly switching skills to keep them at a similar level adds up to a lot of wasted time. Zezima has this same belief. I wouldn't stick to a single skill all the way to 99 from, say, 50, but at level 50 I would at least level it 15 levels or so, then perhaps get all the other skills up to the new marker. Leveling skills one at a time, alternating skills after each level or 2, or even 5, generates a lot of wasted time and is thus a very inefficient way to level skills. I suppose it would be most efficient to stick to a single skill all the way to 99, but......oh......the boredom.... the most levels ive ever gotten nonstop in the same skill was probably fletching, which i raised from 46 to 79 in a week or two. So basically i agree with keeping the standard deviation of your skills low, but I highly DISAGREE with the strategy of getting them there. -johnm131 (muted)
