I don't play bass, but I've seen my friend play and I've seen the brands that he uses so I'll just give you that info. Ibanez owns. Period. He has a bass amp (which is Ibanez) and it seems to work well for him. I've heard Fender makes good basses as well, so you might wanna look into those, too. As for the playing part you just have to be dedicated. You can't start slacking or you'll start sucking. Although it doesn't work like that for everybody. Hope I helped (kinda).

What I consider parental advice must be different from what you consider it as. Whatever. No need to call me a moron. Seriously. And all of Zierro's theories (I think) seem very rational. I dunno if you're doing this for other reasons we're oblivious to, so you must not be explaining everything. Seriously. And why are you afraid of upsetting them? I have to agree, sadly, since it's very true about what you said. When I posted this I was extremely pissed. But when I look back, I'm like "What the hell? I'm better than this." It's no lie. I would disagree with that. I know several people who are very good at sports and still smoke, like two guys on my hockey team, and probably more than that on my rugby team. No offense, but Rugby>Football. Nothing like stepping on the face of that kid you just smashed up :twisted: I'm kidding, kind of. Haha. I like rugby, too. Anyway, I also have asthma, so it just would've increased my problems even more.

Yes, that would be it. People just don't "get" you. Seems to be a common problem amongst teenagers. Perhaps you should stop and think that, maybe, you don't get what they're saying? You're being stereotypical. It's not a problem. It's just an annoyance. EDIT: When I say "don't get it" they don't bother to think about what I say. That doesn't mean my parents. I take my own time to explain things to them. I'm talking about crappy school counselors, principals, and other people who just throw statements at me and how I did things wrong when they don't bother to hear me out. Those are the people I dislike. Although my old counselor wasn't too bad, he helped me get into the high school I wanted, and I respect him for that... I'm not some emo kid. I went through that phase. Seriously. It sucked. I ain't gonna lie. I thought about suicide, then I just thought "Hey, this isn't healthy." I now play football and I have awesome friends. I love my life, my friends, my family (well, the majority) and the fact that I'm still alive (I'm no religious freak by the way).

Yeah. We had to wait two weeks to play a football game because the smoke spread all the way over here back in October '07. It was really bad.

Do you have any other relatives you can stay with? Because your mom sounds [bleep]ing crazy. Seriously. I wouldn't want to stay with her. She blamed you for your dog's arthritis, which, from what I know (which isn't much), is caused by infection or lack of use in the joints of his legs. Unless you're obviously not telling us something, because it can also can be caused by something happening to the joint, any sort of trauma or whatever. You're not telling us all the info, mate.

Nobody will ever call you a nerd here, seriously. Everyone here (or a huge majority of) the people here play/have played Runescape in the past. We're all nerds deep down inside. It's not a bad thing. Go out, go to a coffee shop, and meet new people. Or if you're still in college, talk to anybody, boys or girls, and make friends. It's not hard (at least, for some people who have higher self-esteem it isn't). You need better self-esteem. If you think you need a haircut, go get one. If you're content with your hair, screw the barber! You don't have to quit Runescape. But start going outside more. Even Jagex recommends it. Go run, build endurance. Get a membership to a gym (a simple one, no need to go to Gold's right off the bat). I hope I have helped (somewhat).

That's what it is to me. That's why I not only listen to metal and hardcore rock,I also listen to rock and alternative. It keeps me very happy at times when I am down and gives me energy when I need it. It also gives me something to do.

Ah, Zierro, the end of that gave me a chuckle. I got caught under a riptide once when my dad took me to the beach. I heard the lifeguard had literally jumped from his lifeguard hangout thingy to come rescue me. I had an asthma attack when I was two. That I can't remember, but I was told it was really bad.

Haha. That made me chuckle. Yeah, I know they care for me. I'm not gonna argue with you, but I will point this out. Nobody knows what's better for me than I myself. Not my parents, just me. You make it seem like I don't have a say in anything just because I'm not LEGALLY an adult. I'm not "a little kid". I'm a mature teenager. Seriously. Maybe you don't think so, but I do respect adults unless I disagree with them, and even most of the time I just keep my mouth shut. And there's no need to tell me what my parents think about me and how they trust me, when you have never met me or my folks at all before. When I got caught smoking cigs I knew I was lucky enough to be grounded for only two weeks, I even got off early because I was doing very well in school, the best I have done out of all my junior high school years. I have gotten so lucky in life. It's no doubt. I respect, love, and care for my parents. But I don't like it when they and other people say what's best for me. Only I can figure that out, seriously. EDIT: That's why they're called MY best interests. By the way, not to kiss-up or anything, but I really appreciate the posts guys. It did shed some light.

I'm fourteen, going to be a freshman. I had a little temper tantrum when I posted this. But I'm still ticked off about the trust thing. They say they trust me. But it seems like they don't, obviously.
