I was reading the diffrent guide on tip.it just to make training a little little bit more fun - and read this in the mage guide - It's about what the combat system is based on The thing is this is not true. Point one is not true because: If you for example has 1 att and 99 str and 91 magic your combat lvl is based on your magic+def+pray+hp lvl and not on your att+str+def+pray+hp as the above quote claims. Point two is not true because: If you for example has 99 ranged and 89 str and att, then your combat lvl is based on your att+str+def+pray+ hp and not ranged+def+pray+hp Point 3 is not true because: Same as point two just with magic instead of ranged The way this really should be is like this: - If strength+attack is stronger than your ranged times 1,5 and stronger than our magic lvl times 1,5, then your combat level is based on your strength + attack + defence + prayer + hitpoints. - If your ranged level times 1,5 is your stronger than your strenght and attack and is stronger than your magic, then your combat level is instead based on your ranged + defence + prayer + hitpoints. - If your magic level times 1,5 is your stronger than your strenght and attack and is stronger than your ranged, then your combat level is instead based on your magic + defence + prayer + hitpoints. If you want to make big money in staking - make a dds pure. 60 att - 99 str - 80+ hp .. this is by far the best and easiest way to earn money in Duel Arena AND 1 PRAYER OF COURSE - for pures prayer is useless at Duel Arena.

Dude the thing is - I am 99 magic btw so I am experianced with mage staking - when a zammy guy lowers your mage you can really see it in your hits. So for example if I am using Blood Barrage and someone hits me with zammy it lowers my mage to 94 which makes me splash my BB ALOT - even more than I normally does. This is why I suggest you to get 90+ magic, because then burst will still hit often even if you get hit by FoZ (Flames of Zamorak) I would suggest having at least 10 lvls more than the magic spell you want to use - this is why FoZ is so good since you can cast it at lvl 60 - but remember you still need the lvl 80 charge :!: And I would say all (or atleast 95% of all) mage stakers has 85+ magic. Just so you know. And about 80 hp would be great for you too:D

You get hit with zammy strike bye bye blitz. dont have the runes for rush bybe bye money. You need atleast 87 mage I think to use blitz since I think zammy lowers by 5. NOt sure though. Yep Zamorak lowers by 5, and unless your like 90+ magic Zamorak is the best in mage stakes. And I would get higher hp if I were you, since that's like the most important stat in Duel Arena.

Personally I would just high alch but other might give you more help. About staking: I wouldn't suggest you to use Ancient Magic at that lvl, but rather god spell - Zamorak since it lowers mage. Always remember to charge your zammy spell while the 3-2-1 count down is running. Don't fight with obs on, since you don't have ancient and proberly arn't very good at Safespoting. Ehm, start with low stakes so you can see what mage/def lvl you stand a chance against. And remember magic is like 60% of magic def - and don't fight with armour unless you have the best there is. BUT ALWAYS REMEMBER TO WEAR ZAMORAK STAFF AND CAPE IN EVERY STAKE! Ask if you need more info.
