Weekend Update: I mined ess in the evenings Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Today after I reached 5k ess I took a break to chop the Varrock Oaks for a bit (as I will need oak planks for Con eventually) and when I leveled in that (WC 69) I went back to mining Ess. I don't expect to gain any mining levels until I start mining my ores, but that's okay. Current Total Pure Essence: 5408

I watched Saw 3 over the weekend, and the only thing that made me mad was the fact that somebody had brought a 7 yr old girl with them to see it. Now, I'm in my twenties and I almost needed therapy after it was over... I can only imagine what sort of nightmare that poor kid would be having. (I informed the responsible adult that this movie was not for children, in case they'd intended to see Flushed Away and wandered into the wrong theater. They stayed.)

Day 2: While mining all my own ores and making nats for Superheat and High Alch might take a little longer on the front end, it will allow me to level up multiple skills at once rather than just Smithing. By the end, I will have 77 Mining, 69 Magic (Magic Guild ftw!), and 58 Runecrafting. From there I will only have 4447 Laws till 60 rc :) Of course there is the risk of getting bored, but by breaking up a big task into a bunch of separate tasks this shouldn't be much of a problem. If I really start hating it, though, I can always train Agility or Fishing for a bit... Current resource total: 3300 Pure ess Achievements: 71 Mining

Day 1: Smelted and smithed 90 Mithril bars, then high alched them with what nats I currently had in bank. Gained smithing level (lvl 61). Still have 5 mith b axes sitting in bank but can either alch them later or sell in Port Sarim. Not looking forward to mining all the ore I will need, esp the coal. Crafting all those nats will be a pain too, but look forward to when the resource gathering stage is behind me - smooth sailing from there? Current stock: 2336 Pure Ess

I'd been wanting to get 68 Smithing for some time, specifically when I was building the Skill Hall in my POH. I wanted to put a set of Full Mithril in, but I needed to have the level to Smith it myself, rather than the funds to buy a set and toss it in. This week I officially started on this goal, after sitting at 60 Smithing for a while. I soon discovered that while mithril would give me this reward in fewer bars, mining the ore was time-consuming (because of the spawn time) and frustrating (because of the relatively few mithril rocks :wall: ). So, after mining 90 Mith ore, I decided that steel would be the way to go (and in fact had paved my path to 60 Smithing previously). My goals: 1. Smelt and Smith 90 mith bars (to save bank space) DONE! 11-8-06 2. Mine 5450 Iron DONE 11-19-06 3. Mine 10,900 Coal. Working on now 4. Mine 6540 Pure Essence (minus what I have already in bank) DONE! 11-14-06 5. Craft ess into Natures. 6. Superheat 5450 Steel bars 7. Smith into steel platebodies 8. High Alch platebodies. Current Supplies: 6540/6540 Pure Ess DONE! 5450/5450 Iron DONE! 0/10,900 Coal :ohnoes: 12-1-06: Started mining coal at coal trucks. Will mine until I level mining, then go to Shilo for nat crafting and superheating for a bit 11-29-06: Finished mining iron. 73 Mining reached. 11-8-06: Finished smelting mithril bars. Currently smithing into battleaxes. 61 Smithing reached. 11-8-06: Finished mining 360 coal to smelt the mithril into bars. Currently smelting.
