You need a unicorn or a pack yak, especially if you don't have ports armor. You'll struggle but you'll probably be fine. You will be a liability on the 5th stage though. This assumes you know exactly what you're doing.

I thought they made it so rather than it being 1 tick->action->2 ticks, it was 3 ticks->action.

That's not patched? I remember people doing the same thing with overloads and getting a similar xp rate until it got patched. I only assumed they fixed it for everything.
