ok i know that this is not what the poll is asking, but i want the weekly times to stay! having said that, if it must be changed, then we would need something else to fill the space right? so letters to the editor might be a good idea. i think i have to agree with Errdoth, three times a month compared to one times would get a little boring. maybe if we could get a guest article one week, then letters to the editor, then the times then more letters to balance it out a bit more? From a more personal point of view, and with no offence intended, i dont know the editor. why should s/he be the one answering letters? Are these letters to be questions? in which case why is the editor more qualified than any other player to answer them? again i must emphasize i mean no offence to the editor. i wonder if i can use an example to help explain what i mean.... people want to ask paul and andrew questions, because they created rs. people want to ask zezima questions, because he is the number 1 player. people write to npc's within runescape, because they have had some kind of prolonged interation with them, and are curious about personality or whatever. the editor, to us, is just a faceless name.... why would we ask questions, other than who are you? why would you write letters to someone who is effectively a stranger?

i just dont have the patience to fight the bots and macroes for the trees, hence my very poor wc skill

stratotanker thats a fantastic idea! no offence to the mods, but ive never really seen them take an active role in runescape, where i have been playing. i mean i see them online and stuff, but they always just seem to playing the game with the nice shiny crown next to their name. i think a very visible, high profile crackdown in game from mods would be brilliant, and it would raise awareness too

i report all i see, but its hard when people randomly pm you.... gimme yr pass n i'll put 200 mil in... yeah right!! simply cos you cant report anyone who pm's you, or if you can then i did something wrong, because it keeps telling me the person hadnt spoken :-k anyways. i also think the delay is too long. when you are in catherby, or seers for yews, or most places in free to play, you want to report, so many people for macroing. but what is it....1 a minute or something? i'm not usually there long enough to report all the rule breakers!!

out of interest, is there any way to report a site for selling gold and stuff to jagex? EDIT: i dont mean the sites are selling gold to jagex, i meant i want to let jagex know about these sites..... meh you guys all know what i mean

with regards to the whole, selling high thing.... yeah its not reportable to say selling charcoal 500k, often i find that its actually a paired scam and sometimes, its people who say buying charcoal for 500k, and then they dont ever trade.... is that scamming? its definately deception because they say they are buying and they are not, and they may just be doing it to push the price up.

i see people breaking the rules everyday i play.... macros, scammers, people trying to sell accounts or gold..... even on members they are everywhere

Artificial_Doom_Flavor the point i was trying to make is that there is no sure way of knowing is you are on a world where these rules are followed. numbers of people at edgville really arent a very good guide are they? if it was generally accepted that, for example world 3 is a duelling world... the same wy world 2 is the market world, then that could work, but that takes time, and the insults from the pkers there wont help people abide by the rules pkers want them to and no offence to the pkers out there, but if you ask the people in edge they could say yes here are the rules....... you follow them thinking you are abiding by the rules of the world, and they turn around and mash you. yes you come away knowing you were the honourable one... but you are also the dead one who proved nothing other than the fact you are gullible. the current outlook on the wilderness is each to their own. you look after you and yours, not other peoples rules, because no one out there will follow yours. oh and for the record? bold capital font is the written equivalent of shouting

Artificial_Doom_Flavor we were of course talking about members... there really is no need to shout. and if you are on a "duelling world" then if you dont know that these rules are in place you deserve to be insulted and harrassed? where is the honour and respect in that?? admittedly if you have agreed to these "rules" and then violated them then thats different... but at the moment short of one on one or prearranged clan wars there is no way to make sure these "rules" are followed

no idea lol only just thought of it...... cant take them all down alone though it would be fun to try. something about revenge... we could recruit all the runecrafters who have been abyss pked to join... and supply our mages with runes to teleblock n ancient the evil abyss pkers...... im going to need to think about this.....im feeling a need to kill something

i know its a rant about them and minorly off topic, but im glad someone agrees ( you think making an anti abyss pker clan would be a good idea?)

although i am well aware everyone will probably hate me i have to say it anyway.... im going to be a one item pker but before you all flame me!! ive never pked before and the only reason im going to do it? abyss pkers people who sit in wait for runecrafters, then jump them when they are defenceless now though i know that these people do not represent the majority of pkers i hate them with a passion, they are the lowest form of life (IMO) and i am on a mission to wipe them out. they give normal pkers a bad name. if honour pking could be enforced, i think it should be enforced there. but the wilderness? i like the anything goes side.... but then i always did like suprises, and not knowing what will hit me next sounds like fun

They're out there because this is a game, and it's for fun" now if as you say the whole thing is for fun... then why does it matter that noone gets anything? and as to the whole supplies thing... supplies are there to be used.. end of discussion. if you dont want to use them fine... but i wont respect you for it... in fact i'll think you are actually rather stupid to turn down the advantages of pots and healing but hey thats just my opinion

flammacor this article has contains facts and the authors opinion. as a lingustics student at university i feel i can comfortably say that short of turning round and starting the entire article with "in my opinion" the author has made it pretty clear that the content of the article is based on his opinion. the examples that LordoftheSquishies used about ice cream are actually both opinions unless delievered in very unusual circumstances. and in fact if we are going to get really technical, personal preference and opinions are the same thing, just delivered in a different manner ( we had a huge debate last year over that). i really think that, In My Opinion!, you should accept that you simply dont agree with the article content, rather than nitpick over the technicalities

fantastic article, kudos to the author =D> it doesnt matter about respect and honour in the wilderness because..... its the wilderness!!! there are no rules! if you dont want someone to tele away you can always just go further in... unless you are too scared? im not a pker at the moment so naturally if i have to go in the wilderness im going to use everything i can to keep myself alive... im not going in there to kill others, just for green dhides. why shouldnt i protect myself in everyway possible? there is noway im just going to sit there and wait to die when you are attacking me. you think im disrespecting you by trying to survive? you are wrong.... i simply dont respect you when i DO survive, because you werent good enough to kill me.

i think jp_page_too has a good idea i mean i know that worlds 1-6 are the market worlds on both f2p and p2p but what about a pc world? or a ba world? or the ever elusive blast furnace world?? a guide for that, or maybe just a list would be really helpful

fab as having one would be, i completely get that a market price database is ridiculously evil to keep update... but hey wishful thinking right :D maybe if the city guides were detailed enough you could combine the npc guide too? ie welcome to varrock home to king roald blah blah blah history stuff ruling gods.... kinda like a tour guide if that makes sense

i think city guides would be a great idea, and perhaps a market price guide at the moment i use three different sites, tip it of course, and two others for these things, to have it all on one site would be fantastic

ok are we sure the editor isnt actually two people? s/he starts off with some pretty decent points about prices coming down( with the exception being the point about rares staying stable, because they really are dropping but i'll get to that later) But then s/he goes off into a rant about autoers... and a suggestion jagex sells us gold?!? lets all wave goodbye to our hard earned gp lets just buy it instead! they day that happens, as was said by someone else on this board, is the day i leave. but as for my own opinions as to why the prices are falling? well in very easy terms i think a lot of it is due to third age stuff. everyone who had the expensive rares is now selling to get the newest, best, and rare items in the game, and they are willing to sell low to get it... i never thought id see the day i saw an easter egg go for just under 8 mil... they used to be hard to get for 11 mil. basically the sellers want to sell faster... and buyers want to buy for less, sellers end up sacrificing a part of their profit to sell faster.... and this works with everything from rares to sharks. you cant deny that autoers do help oversupply ,which does help buyers buy their raw materials for less but i dont think its fair to say autoers caused it. also with regards to skill capes, idk much since i dont have one, but i always assumed if you wanted something bad enough you paid more :roll: but anyways enough of my opinions about money, back to the article... lots of potential, but went unrealized as it continues. very inconsistent and nowhere near as good as some of the others in the times

i disagree with this article simply because for me its the rs community that pulls it down. im not saying that every player on runescape is rude or a scammer, but the minority give the others a bad name as it were. you cant trade any where without seeing a scammer or a beggar or someone who will call you a noob because you didnt accept their ridiculously underpriced offer for your black cav. or fishing at catherby, where every other word is a profanity misspelt to get round the filters...again not always true but its happenning more and more. this is the community that makes runescape keep growing? i think not. i love rs. i think the game is very dynamic, and its always changing and i cant see me leaving in the near future. but advertizing it will just bring in more people who dont care about the game... or the other players, and in my opinion there are too many of those people already

paulyts50 the thing is i agree with you that luring is, and always has been against the rules...however, people were trying to justify luring via excuses such as " he knew the risk so i did nothing wrong". admittedly its no excuse at all in my eyes and in yours it would seem, but it doesnt change the fact that now its been included in the rules as an example it will be seen as an "official" bannable offence. tekilla in your real life example yes i'd probably steal, but luckly rs isnt real life as you point out, so it really is just people who are too lazy to work for their money. flax and bowstrings are unbelievably easy money, with relatively no skill need, so they (lurers) have no need to lie and deceive as they do.
