  1. again militaris we disagree on intent. not all pures intend to deceive, though i will concede that most pking pures do,but surely if you see someone who looks to be an easy target and they end up killing you maybe you learnt the most vital lesson of life... dont judge people too quickly but what about those that do it for the challenge of going through the game without melee skills? they arent there to decieve you... they just want an added level of difficulty in the game and thus a greater sense of acheivement.
  2. i quote rule two here "Luring players into the Wilderness under false pretences." it is only luring in to the WILDERNESS that jagex has banned, no other luring was mentioned. in principle however i agree that all luring is deception and should be reportable, but until jagex spells it out for the players i fear i will be in the minority
  3. although i hate luring i feel that jagex may have mad a big mistake with this rule change, simply because they only specify wilderness lureing. take the tribesmen on karamja. you say "come with me i show you around" to a new member they get poisoned. they know nothing about poison cos they are new to members... they die. now all the lurers will have to resort to stuff like that to avoid being reported, and it really will be they vunerable players getting lured, instead of just people who arent using their common sense. to militaris all i can say is that in my personal opinion luring is wrong...maybe because i apply my real life morals to this game...however if you wish to pk then jagex has not made that impossible to you, and many evil people will try and work around the law to avoid capture, so you can still choose to play an evil twisted character if you so choose, you can still kill others and annoy them, isnt that enough? also out of curiosity, militaris do you believe pures are deceitful?
  4. alrighty then, here's my veiw. i hate luring. i hate pking too but thats irrelevent. the thing is, as far as im concerned, it is against the rules, because it usually involves lying and deceit. i cannot believe that some people blame the victims of this for what happens to them. yes sometimes a little comman sense would have seen straight through the lure, but lets face it lurers arent stupid. there are some pretty clever lures going on out there. what makes it so bad for me is that they do target vunerable players, in ways which are usually disconted as luring, because to most people they arent dangerous. take karamja. no danger right? but oh wait.. what about those poisonous tribesmen that new members players dont know anything about? to lurers that work there, anyone thats still in rune with a semi decent combat level is fair game " oh you are new? here let me show you a convenient members bank"... which just so happens to be in the middle of those self same tribesmen... voila, one dead player. im with helldemon on this. i dont think trading should be possible in the wilderness. and the warning sign mentioned earlier that stops all actions when you hit the wilderness would be fantastic. but most importantly, i think jagex needs to clear up the grey areas in it rules, and mods need to agree. on this forum we've seen quotes sayings its ok.... and ones that say its not. if mods cant tell us, its not going to stop. i pity the people who get lured, but i will never blame them for what happens, because at the end of the day its the lurer that caused it to happen not the victim.
  5. that would be great! thank you fortress
  6. so i can put my bedroom there! thanks for all your help guys :D
  7. thanks about the garden thing. as for there stair thing.... imagine you build a staircase in your skill hall. according to the guide it uses a rug/stair hotspot, so it would be in the middle of the room right? so the room the stairs is going too? say a bedroom... does the stair case leed into the middle of the room, or the doorway? im not sure that makes anymore sense lol
  8. also can i build a room on top of a garden?
  9. ok i've just started construction and im trying to plan my house. i know that you put stairs in a rug/stair hotspot downstairs but where is it upstairs? does it take up a doorway spot? or anothe rug spot in the room you build?
  10. i think that some kind of communication between the fansites and jagex is essential, because as the article points out, the fan sites see everything in a slightly different way, and surely jagex would want to know how their new additions are being recieved? but on another point perhaps it is worth considering that perhaps some "endorsement" from jagex for trusted fansites would actually help players, and possibly keep them safer? when i refer players in game to tip.it im often asked "is that a safe site". players are wary of fan sites because of various keyloggers and cookie grabbers that are out there. if jagex were to recommend sites like tip.it, those players would be more likely to come here, instead of going to dodgy sites. (i think that makes sense). yes i know that its not up to jagex to babysit the players when they arent in game, and perhaps endorsement isnt quite the right word, but for newer players, the ones who really need the help you get from fansites, i think it would help a lot.
