  1. Personally, I used wool from the sheep shearer quest to level up my first levels, then I started using hides from cows to craft into leather. I never really used clay until I saw a pottery oven in the crafting guild (I am lvl 50 crafting now) and made some quick bowls. If are willing to spend your 50k on hides, I would advise leatherwork. I don't know your combat skills, but if you have a little bit of combat training, you could easily go and kill the cows yourself. It wouldn't really matter at that low level in my opinion, as levelling is still very quick in that stage. If you are going for the higher levels quickly however, without any combat training, I would indeed also advice doing clay first until you can make hardleather bodies and then spend your 50k on buying hides. According to the tip.it crafting skills planner, crafting 500 cowhides into hardleathers using your 50k starting at level 28, would reach you crafing level 37 pretty quick. Eatmyshort0
  2. This just happened to me. I thought I would get scammed, but I didn't. I am fishing on Karamja, and a lvl 3 comes and says follow to win 3k. So me, thinking he's another password or item scammer, follow him to report him when he tries to scam me. He waits for 3 more people, and then takes us into the plantation. Then he asks the following question: What sentence is hidden in here? And he types something like Ehdfkillhrhtmehrernow. Of course, it was ''kill me now''. He says I am correct, and that I won. I thought he would ask another question about my items or pass now that he thinks I trust him, but he doesn't. Instead, he initiates a trade with me and gives me the promised 3k for free! I am like wtf? I said ''Wow I thought you were another scammer but I guess you're not'' and he says something along the lines of ''No noob.'' Others low levels then start to beg for money as well, and since I didn't need the money, and I thought he might have gotten his 3k by scamming someone and ditching the evidence or something, I gave the 3k away to a lvl 5. In the end, I had people saying 'Wow ur cool', but I just couldn't believe this person just gave me 3k for free!. I am glad i gave it away though. Eatmyshort0
  3. Wait what? I am f2p and I am smelling some elitism here. You think all F2p-ers are autoers? That's just wrong... I don't have any facts to prove the opposite, but stating something like that would be like me saying that 98% of P2P's exploit free players by going into free worlds and sell their stuff for huge prices as they are the only source of for example natures, laws, death's, wizzy (g), and whatnot. Of course, that statement would be extremely dubious as well, but so is yours in my opinion.
  4. I am f2p but I made a mistake saying Glory amulets, what I meant was an amulet of power made from a diamond. All I am just trying to find is a good compromise between keeping high magic attack and adding a little more melee defense.
  5. Thanks for your replies people. I do have one more question though. Would it really hurt my attack if I wear a leather cowl instead of a magic hat? Would I still be able to hit 8 with fire strike and 12 with fire bolt (lvl 41 magic)? Also, would a amulet of glory significantly hurt my mage attack compared to a magic amulet?
  6. Yeah I know about the wizard robes, but the only give a measly +3 or +2. Is that really worth wearing? Can't I better wear some leather what I mentioned for better defence? Also what do you mean with 'new F2P boots'? Are there any boots besides the normal leather boots in F2P that I don't know about?
  7. Hi all, I am a lvl.36 mage and I am looking to improve my outfit a little bit, for more defence against rangers and warriors, while still keeping most of the magic bonuses. This is how my outfit used to be (I'm a black mage): Black hat Black cape, magic ammy Fire staff, Black robe, anti-dragon shield Black skirt Leather vambraces, leather boots. Now as the skirt gives no magic bonus at all, and the robe and hat give hardly any, I was looking for some better alternatives against rangers and warriors while getting no negative decreases in magic. This is what I was thinking of: Leather cowl / blue magic hat Monk's robe / Blue-Black robe Leather Chaps / Monk's skirt. I would like to keep at least one mage clothing in my equipment, but I would also like some defence bonuses from the leathers. Also, I don't really know if monk robes are worth wearing since I only have 27 prayer and no protect prayers yet. Any advice would be appreciated.
  8. Probibly the only time I really ever got scammed (im a casual f2p-er): Selling 100 lobs. This guy comes up and offers a rune scimmy for it noted. I accept, forget to look at the end screen, and find out 5 minutes later that I just traded my precious lobsters for an iron scimitar noted. I couln't remember his account name anymore to report him. I don't really see why people making such a big deal about selling or not buying holiday drops several years ago, so they can't sell it right now to make huge profits. I can tell you, if let's say you had a party hat right now and sell it for whatever mil, making huge amounts of money, values would have increased over time again, making you still feel stupid in the end. The point is, no matter at what time you sell your holiday drop, you will always feel bad about it in the end because prices will continue to rise. The only thing to stop this is to hold on to your holiday drop....forever, or at least until the prizes stabilize for good. Again, then there will probibly be no demand for it anymore as merchanting them will be useless. So all in all, it's just best to stay away from those holiday drops as they will only make you feel bad.
  9. Yeah, I tried the dark warrior castle before, but there are too many players so I have to teleport really really fast, not giving me a chance to get much runes. I tried the Moss giants chaos spawn and it's great! There's almost nobody there, and if I see someone, I just log out and join a different world. Also, getting the sapphire from the spawn there is defanitely worth it, as well as the cosmic runes to the west. I made one trip this afternoon, and in about 30 minutes, I gathered 66 chaos runes, 3 cosmic runes, and a sapphire, which, for me, as a casual f2p-er, is a huge amount! :D Eatmyshort0
  10. Thanks for the advice people, however I am not really looking to kill monsters for them as I am not planning to increase my combat level too soon... I am 36 combat with 40 mage, 25 defence, 28 Hp, and 27 prayer. I am mostly looking for ways to obtain nature runes so I can use them for both bind and stuff, and of course law runes for teleports but also telekenetic grab. I think I'll try getting some chaos runes first in the wilderness, and then I'll see if telegrabbing the nature runes is worth it. Again, thanks for your replies.
  11. Apologies for only reading the first page of this thread, still I would like to give my opinion. I agree with the topic starter. I am F2P myself, and how I see it, there is no way I am ever going to be P2p, I am not considering it, and so I am not looking at any benefits members get. I only look at how things are in F2p. How I see it, I think mages and ranged people have a serious disadvantage over Melee people. Why? Mostly because they have to buy most of what they attack with. They can't make it themselves, in any way. F2p players can make their own mithril, addy, or even rune weapons if they want. Mages, apart from the basic ''strike'' spells, are almost completely dependant on buying their weapons every time. The same thing goes for archers. If F2p Melee players can make their own rune swords if they want, why can't F2p archers fletch their own rune arrows?. And why aren't F2p people able to craft their own death or chaos runes? Death runes I might understand, but chaos runes, come on! The altar is accessible for F2p, why not the talisman too?. The same thing goes for mage clothing really. I am a casual RS player, and on my old Melee account that was lvl 32 or something I had mithril armor. I could have bought addy if I wanted. However, with the Mage account I am now using, I am stuck with a robe, an amulet, and a hat, and a shield I can't even smith myself. That's all I have as real mage clothing. In all honesty, I don't give a damn about what P2p players get, or what they can wear. As I see it now, F2p Melee players have a serious advantage over both mages and archers when it comes to obtaining their own weapons and armor. Archers and rangers are often very dependant on P2p players for getting their stuff together, compared to F2p melee players who can just buy their rune stuff in the Champion's guild. I hope you don't take this post a bit lightly, as I don't really give about the entire situation much, but still I think it would be nice to see some changes. Eatmyshort0
  12. Thanks for the quick replies. I'll await a few more suggestions. I also would like to note that I am not going after thousands of these.... maybe 50 runes for both Cosmic, Law, and Nature, to give me a little stash. Edit: Right after going to Lvl 47 wilderness I found getting the spawning Cosmics very easy, I got 30 of them before my food supply ran out, and an emerald from the Mysterious old man! :D . I guess my problem now only applies for Laws & Natures. Eatmyshort0
  13. Hi all, I have a question about obtaining the following runes: Law runes, Cosmic runes, and Nature runes. I am a f2p player, and i would like to know the best way to obtain these runes, without buying them. I know Cosmic runes and Nature runes spawn deep in the Wilderness, but I am only a level 36, and I find going in that deep too risky. So, could any of you give me some advice on how to obtain these runes without having to buy them from members? Do you know any monsters that frequently drop these runes? Or can you tell me a safe place where they spawn? Thanks in advance.
