  1. Why does everyone fail to see that: Korasi sword, claws, handcannon etc are ITEMS that you BUY and that you RISK if you use them in pvp. Ice barrage, turmoil, soul split are ABILITIES that you BUY and that ARE reflected in your combat level. The ability to use extremes/ovls is an ABILITY that you BUY and one that is NOT risked nor reflected in your combat level. As such, combat abilities and combat items are fundamentally different from extremes/ovls. This also has the consequence that extremes/ovls are the most obvious content to ban in pvp combat (to fight power creep). You were fully aware that you couldn't use them in pvp. Remember that overloads are still very useful in PvM combat.
  2. Not if you do Royal trouble i think.
  3. I agree, jagex should make a Brunosword that hits 1500 99% of the time through protect prayers. After all, just go to f2p if you don't like the Brunosword. extremes will make it a lot more likely to kill someone in a second.
  4. that doesn't mean that suddenly all my arguments are invalid
  5. Chaotics are not that much better in pking, and you cannot use gear better than rune without risking your chaotic. Dung items = risked Herblore level = not risked that's 4/5th of his total hp. handcannon -> ags (with old prays)
  6. Dungeoneering items are risked when you take them into the wild.
  7. Rigour requires 74 prayer so it is, but yes dungeoneering isn't displayed in your combat level. it's also not much better than eagle eye (comparing to range - ext range)
  8. I know i've said it a few dozen times already but:'That stuff is bad is not a reason to make it worse.' +30 is a significant advantage (do also not forget using brews as food is an advantage), and 480-480 to 560-560 with dark bows as previously mentioned is a +160 damage boost. I dislike how you have to fork over 160m for something that is not represented in your combat level to be able to PK.
  9. yes because pkers want fun/skilled fights where the best wins instead of the first that clicks his spec bar.
  10. You still haven't answered to my first question, if they want to ban extremes, why don't they ban ALL potions ? The outcome will be even better. Everyone can use super potions (they are tradable) Only those with 85+ herblore (read 80m poorer) can use extremes. As such, supers are fair while extremes are not. I'm tired of skillers begging for extremes in pvp so they can kill people.
  11. Yes, whether those (mainly pointing at Korasi) items are correctly priced is another story, but you do risk them. Dragon(e) bolts are consumables and can be negated ENTIRELY. Obviously magic and range levels are incorrectly displayed but the difference is that they are combat skills. If you have an account with low strength/attack, it IS displayed. It seems rather consistent to me. Herblore itself has nothing to do with combat ability. There are two options: 1. You add extremes/ovls and to cancel (lol) their increased damage you increase the amount of LP one hp level gives 2. Do nothing. First option looks kind of stupid to say the least..
  12. Yes I do, Joe risks 25m while Johnny risks 50k. I thought that the quest was quite easy to do apart from the 63 mining and 60 smithing requirement. The effort of doing the questing is negiglible to the prayer levelling itself.
  13. But 70-94 prayer is quite a difference (6 combat levels). THAT is why it is represented in your combat level. Your friend is willing to fork over 200m for turmoil yet can't be assed to spend 2m to power 60/61 smithing in a few hours. 60/61 smithing is nothing.
  14. People lost loads of whips, godswords...etc (that was more common without that nifty prayer indicator..) in the old wild. Why would it be any different? Have you ever actually PKed? Regardless you risk your items. 92 herblore takes 150m. Desert treasure+ prequests takes maybe 10 hours. Temple of senntisten+prequests takes max 20 hours (+ some quests you'd have done regardless). See the difference? Extremes just overpower everything for no obvious reason. There is not any reason not to =/= reason to do. Turmoil is displayed in your combat level, while herblore potions are not. That's why turmoil is more balanced than herblore. I wouldn't even mind if turmoil was nerfed (though I'd be a bit mad because I already have 82 prayer on my pure).
  15. It is called 'getting KOed/smited'. Well they ARE shown in your combat level, everyone can do the required quests. I am making a pure right now, and 45->95 prayer is 6/7 combat levels. Oh look it's bad lets go make it even worse. I have extremes/overloads. Do I think it'd be mad fun to 1hit people? Of course! Does that make it challenging/interesting/skillful? Of course not.
  16. that is a valid point but exts should still not be able to be used in pvp battles. Good thing jagex is smart (for once, that is).
  17. ^where the poster compares use of chaotics/zerker rings etc. Do not forget that you RISK those, while you do not risk your herblore level. People tend not to bring their max gear because it is in 50+ wilderness and multicombat. If you do, please pm me next time you're going. And woop you lose +7 bonusses. Big deal, why does it matter if you're killing that monster for fun anyways?
  18. Seeing as you have resorted to flaming by calling my friends and I "no one," I think I'm just going to ignore your posts from here on as you are blatantly trolling. Is that flaming? I never knew Chaos Elemental was a popular boss. Especially not when you cannot take your top gear because of the PKers.
  19. No one kills the chaos elemental anyways. And prices do matter because introducing items that only 0.001% of the population can afford is not a viable fix. I have yet to see anyone give a valid reason for why extreme potions will increase my PKing experience.
  20. Really? Why don't we look at how big of a jump this max hit really is. Since you want to look at a "strong" player versus the "average" joe, let's use this situation. You have a level 70 pure, meant for hunting and killing other players, up against a level 70 player who's relatively balanced combatwise. bla bla bla This is why picking on extremes of all things as being responsible for one-hit kos is ridiculous. Good weapons backed with good PvP stats are going to demolish mediocre equipment and average stats. Extremes are not going to change that. Good equipment and good defensive stats are going to save you from OHKOs. Again, extremes are not doing to change that. Sub 80-combat is already very biased towards pures. That does not mean it is right to boost (I have the most problems with ext range) a 48-48 dbow special to 56-56.
  21. That potential 1hit chance is increased by much more than 50% lol. That 'go f2p if you don't like' attitude is a fallacy just like 'go duel arena and set potions to OFF' and sadly I've seen jmods use it. (regarding summoning in pvp)
  22. The average joe isn't going around one-hitting people with Dragon Claws. No, but other people do; and when they can 1hit Joe I think that is not anywhere near acceptable. Then ban Dragon Claws, because you can already get a level 70 with Dragon Claws able to one-hit other level 70s, with or without Extremes. Ban Dark Bow. Ban AGS. Ban Vesta's Longsword (which is more of a 2-hit than 1-hit, but still really deadly). Our gap between offense and defense lies in how strong our equipment is, NOT in what potions we're using. I'm not even against considering removing (or 'nerfing') those weapons you mentioned, but allowing extremes/overloads is a very sizable jump in dps/max hit. I have used strong range potions from dungeoneering and i can tell you that near-1-hitting hits are very common.
  23. Oh wow this thread is going fast. The average joe isn't going around one-hitting people with Dragon Claws. No, but other people do; and when they can 1hit Joe I think that is not anywhere near acceptable.
  24. Chaotic items are balanced because you either a. have good gear and risk them or b. protect your chaotic item by using noobs gear (eg full rune).
