  1. Wouldn't it make more sense, logically, that they would actually be Zarosian? For one of them (Zuriel) to have access to Ancient Magicks implies that she was in league with Zaros. At the same time, the fact that the drops occur in PvP worlds (PvP used to be the wilderness, Zaros' domain, originally. This is a bit farfetched,) would also imply that the warriors would have to be either Zamorakian or Zarosian. Considering how ancient the armor must be for it to erode so quickly, I would guess Zarosian. Jagex won't confirm it for a while, as they don't like to hint of Zaros too much.
  2. Would anyone mind posting what the PartyHat looks like with the graphical update? I've heard it's pretty bad.
  3. Don't forget botted high-levels running you through GWD with coinshare, Junk trading, etc.
  4. Dragon Battleaxe makes the dragon axe obselete for fighting in a serious war. [hide=Minor Quest Spoilers]Pickaxes are required to kill at least one of the tzhaar creatures, likely more to be added in the future. These may also exist in another plane.[/hide] All-in-all, a dragon pickaxe simply seems neccesary.
  5. Deflation hurts the providers of said materials. You pay us less, thus we make less money (boohoo, right?). If I were into combat or skills the require more money than they make you, I'd be in the same boat as you guys. But I'm not, I'm into Woodcutting and Mining myself, always have been. I was never making any big cash back when bots were running the show, but now it seems that I've been cut a break. I said this before, the tables have turned. Before, it was everyone else who profited from lower prices in raw materials, and the gatherers who suffered because prices only got lower and lower. Now it's everyone else who suffers from high prices, and us gatherers who profit from it. Everyone was too dependent on bots, and yes this inflation isn't all good either. There should be balance in the end, or you'll all just have to get used to spending a lot or getting the stuff yourself :P In theory, decreased prices in the collection fields should have caused decreased prices in all fields, rendering deflation universally beneficial. Again, in theory.
  6. I myself miss the cheap food, cheap potions, cheap bones, cheap everything tbh. When has deflation ever been anything but good? As long as one neccesary item is cheaper, all items linked to it (And all higher level equipment is linked to prayer pots and food) will become cheaper. Hence, deflation hurts nobody.
  7. Off-Topic: The Loan system will never come in any practical manner. Items will be loaned only for show, not for actual combat as combat would leave too many loopholes available. On-Topic: Junk Trading is how people can get around Draconian Trade Restriction, It's legitimate and simple, and even if put an end to, RWT will still not cease to be, there are simply too many methods. If Jagex does put an end to junk trading, not only will I be amazed, but I will applaud their futile attempts to ruin RWT and create a Soviet Gielnor entirely on accident. I suppose we'll see though.
  8. Both were likely given to F2P players to make up for their loss of the wilderness. It was the number 1 f2p activity, and the loss of it was, contrary to popular belief, actually very devistating to F2P numbers.
  9. I can (And Do) Understand why Summoning is P2P only. However, I am one of those who feels that such things as flax picking, fletching up to willows/addy arrows, and other things that are 'Labor Intensive' should be dropped down to F2P, as those who are P2P should have more availibility to these items, and F2P players would rather enjoy making more money (On average) than they do now. At the same time, Summoning should have been at least partly F2P, the first few levels, it would make more sense that way it seems. If Jagex gives F2P player a bit more of a taste of what the cake tastes like, they may choose to pay for it and abandon their cookie, as it were. But frankly, do you have any idea how much Jagex makes off of those ads if you play 4 hours a day, 8 hours on weekends? They make more than $5 a month, I guarentee that. Reason enough the F2P deserves something. And Bounty Hunter is crap, give us the wildy (For another time). Duelling is crap, just do clan wars solo. The 8 bank spaces is nice (Very nice) and considerably more generous than I expected. The grand exchange is neccesary, so more materials can be sold to P2P members who use them more often. Again, Yes, P2P does deserve more. ALOT more, simply for their loyalty and willingness to pay for Jagex's game. However, F2P does certainly deserve more than they currently have, they do still make Jagex money, sometimes moreso than P2P players do. Leaving the payment point moot, the more ads one views, the more money Jagex makes. 40 hours of ads a week is more than $5 a month for jagex. Dont try to deny that.
  10. RS has labeled them both as "Level 58". So, I was under the assumption that in a functional system this would mean near equal power. The thing is that the defense they trained does nothing but raise their combat level up until 45 and 70, and thats only if they want to risk taking in a bunch of extra cash to loose. No, it's not fair that his combat level is not an accurate representation to his actual power. I don't really see the need to argue my point though, PKing is no more. Whereas PKing is indeed no more, that does not mean it wont eventually be back. I'm one of the optimists who feel that it will, moving on. His combat level may not be an accurate represtentation but then again, ever heard of twinking? I dont care WHAT game it is you're playing, if it's anywhere as good as runescape is there's always the ability to have more power than you should for your level. It's part of the challenge of the game to create a pure/twink. As far as bashing someone raising defense for combat level, that's what would happen on the system you want. People would do anything to raise their combat level simply because no matter what they do they'll all hit the same. Frankly, that's boring and communist. You must be one of those who really like the new updates huh? Oh, and by the way. Combat levels have never been whats important. It's much more impressive for one to spend hours on end working on a skill while doing what they can to keep their combat level than it is to keep all your skills equal. One requires precise math and planning whereas the other simply doesnt.
  11. I can agree to that. However, there were other options than the one they chose. Regardless of what they did, they couldnt make everyone happy, but wouldnt it have made more sense to simply restrict what you can wear in the wilderness to only what you are capable of wearing, remove gravestones in the wilderness, and disallow the taking of any more than 3k coins, or any non-combat related items (Such as random logs, arrowheads, bars, Phats, etc.). Then add the three minute restriction for whenever you kill anyone, and keep the size reduced wilderness. It would be the old wilderness, with the restriction made to Bounty Hunter, saving us from RWT, as well as allowing the killing of skillers, and not purely teaming, 1 iteming and the like. Regardless, this is off topic. I would rather have a game with it's history, freedom and opportunity intact than a game without, any game without these should not be considered a 'Game' but a dictatorship one can choose to be part of that happens to take the form of a Game. The fact of the matter is, they erased a mjor part of the history of runescape, and ever if they change it to match the changes, it makes distinctly less sense in this fantasy world.
  12. Anyone read that one guys idea on a new use for thieving? Robbing graves. Assuming they added this to the game, it would open the doors for more skills to effect player killing. Sounds like more of a utopia than before to me. Of course, then, PKers would be required to skill. But it would still give thieving a reasonable use.
  13. I understand what you're saying, however, I am not one who suggests we revert to pre 12/10/07, I instead am one who suggests a compromise, allowing history and the elimination of RWT. And yes, there is one. There always is a third option.
  14. ...And I understand how this was going to take a toll on the players regardless of the path they chose. But for those of you unwilling or unable to the pkers, stakers and merchants. Think like this. Skills are now restricted, nobody can gain more than 3k exp per 15 minutes, and now more than 3k gold from said skills. Would that not aggravate you? Think about it. Back to my rant. Maybe you folks should consider the repercussions this had on the history of runescape. The wilderness was intented, created and portrayed as this evil place of zamorak where players have the ability to kill one another. The land destroyed through wars of old, and the old days of Zaros passed. What became of this history? Most people may not care, but, History was one of the many aspects of the game I loved. I don't approve of the restriction of freedoms either, but frankly, the history peeves me more. Jagex has proven it is willing to rip out parts of it's own created game to save itself money. I would post this on the runescape forums rant, but my membership, like many others, ran out. My IGN is Narasumas1, but dont expect to see me on. I cant wait to see what Jagex decides after realising the erasure of their own well created history.
