  1. Direct Hit or Rocket Lawn-chair? I've had some success in different situations with both, but I have no idea.

If you can aim, use the Direct Hit. I really see no reason why you shouldn't unless you can't hit the target directly.

The Rocket Launcher is a lot better if you use the buff banner, seeing as you can build easy rage just firing into groups of people.

  2. Does it give you the buff even if you're not charging? If not, I would think the pyro could just airblast your charge, then light you up.

The damage reductions are passive, so they're always in effect.

Also, the camera beard is considered a misc item now, so it has the same drop rate as a normal weapon. I think it's a glitch, but seeing as it hasn't been fixed yet maybe it isn't. I got two, i kept one and crafted the other into scrap metal lol.

  3. Haha, that's nice.

Why can't I have FPS and graphics like that?

Because usually for videos like that you put in console commands that make it render at 30 fps, even if your computer can only render about 10fps, so it takes about 3 seconds to render that one second. It takes a bit but produces a better looking video.

  4. Any idea how to get the Cloak and Dagger back? Steam deleted it for some reason and I'm having a hard time playing without it...

Really, the regular watch is vastly superior to the cloak and dagger, even the deadringer is better.

Yeah. The watch is a ton better, I get a lot more done with it.

Unless you play on a map where the enemy spawn doesn't have any ammo crates, then you're in trouble. The cloak and dagger allows you to take your time. The only advantage I've seen with the regular watch is that it encourages you to move quickly.

On nearly every map there's more than enough metal to make it from your spawn to their spawn without decloaking once, so if you know where the metal is that shouldn't be a problem. Also i do notice the c & d does encourage you to slow down, which isn't really a good thing because as a spy you should move around quickly so they don't know where you are.

  5. I tried something different today. Played some offensive engy; set up a level 1 up front or an ambush spot, then lure people over there/go and fight with the shotgun. It's fast, and the sentry is pretty much disposable and can be moved around a lot wherever I need it. It was a lot of fun, and I wasn't just sitting in some corner with my thumb up my [wagon].

Good Offensive engies kick [wagon], on badwater my friend can get a level 3 on the third cap by the time we're at the second, so we pretty much have an easy march to third by the time they've dealt with him. He's been working on a guide but didn't have a good enough computer to film it until recently so i dunno when he's gonna make it.

  6. Do people still play this on Xbox? Just got live and was thinking of all of the multiplayer games I have, and remembered I was planning on getting this game for PC when I get the chance. But since I can't get it on PC yet, yea.

If you find a match it'd probably just be like 2fort or something.

Stop hating on 2fort, there's nothing wrong with it. (I honestly haven't seen an engi cluster on that map since the scout update)

But yeah, nobody plays on Xbox, lag is insanse, limited selection of maps, and no updates or patches, which means no new weapons, and no fixed glitches or stats.

Did you ever think that maybe 2fort is generally hated for a reason?

No reason that I can see, other than the engi clusters. But like I said, those disappeared around the time of the scout update for some reason. Now people actually play.

It's especially fun when two teams of pretty much equal skill fight it out on that map.

me and jj made a list of things wrong with it :D enjoy

    a. you have to go past spawn to get to intel and back

    b. it's a stalemate engies or not

    c. usually only two paths, most of which can easily be guarded from one spot

    d. it's extremely biased towards heavy classes

    e. sniper fights

    f. usually 32 man instant spawn spamfest

g.instaspawn makes it incredibly hard to cap

h.scout and spy become almost useless on it, sniper too unless you count sniper fights

    i. one or more engies on both teams ends any chance of victory

    j. entire map is just chokepoint after chokepoint

    k. theres only like...3 health packs on either end, encouraging you to stick around spawn and just spam at enemy

l.after you kill their team and get to intel, you're trapped in their base with only two exits that go right in front of their spawn, which has infinite health and ammo inside

there are probably a bunch more we didn't mention. also this http://www.ubercharged.net/2008/08/08/why-cant-2fort-just-die/

  7. Hrmm, I should start idling again. Do you use the program or just go in a server?

The guy who made the idler program (and tf2items.com) shut down the servers for the program after valve made it against the rules, so you have to use a server. I think you can just create your own server, go in spec, and leave it on all night and get drops. But i'd only do that if you can't find a server to go in. Also be sure to idle in spec so you don't mess up your class times, but if you stay in spec you have to go into another server and play for a bit before the drops hit.

  8. No idea why, but playing anything is extremely hit or miss for me right now, sometimes games won't load, and sometimes Steam goes on a crash-happy spree.

People in the air.. Which you can launch with said rocket launcher and then hit for a mini crit. On a side note instead of getting any new weapons I got another kritzkrieg and a huntsman :(

I don't understand why you're rewarded for hitting airshots with the direct hit, but not the regular rocket launcher, when it's so much easier with the DH.

It encourages you to try to get airshots.

This, people also forget that the Direct Hit sucks fro splash damage, and splash damage is excellent for faster targets and groups. Also it's hard to get used to the change in rocket speed.

"getting used to" the rocket speed is really easy, it's like a faster firing huntsman. The reduced splash damage makes it a little less useful on groups of 3 or more, but you could always pull out equalizer if you get low and sprint away. Also got my 6th hat from idling yesterday, was a pyros beanie. Second beanie so kinda dissapointed, might craft them together for some other random hat. Right now i have a stainless steel pot, camera beard, mining light, brigade helm, and 2 beanies. lolololol so lucky

  9. Screenshots are F-9, right? Because I played an awesome game with 5 dominations at once )and in one life) and thought I took a screen, but I can't find it with my others. And none o the others actually work.

    Screenshots are f5.

Today i had the most epic run ever as demo. I got 4 kills with sword for hp+speed boost, then went on a raping spree and got 17 pipe kills behind their lines and while a bunch of them were fighting me my team pushed them back to their spawn (dustbowl stage 2). It was hilarious, i dominated 4 people and only died because i charged headfirst into a soldier medic combo with my sword.

  10. How do you get the Targe? I unlocked all the Demoman milestones (legitimately, ooooohhhh yeaaaaah) and didn't get it.

The drop system is really screwed up right now, hence all the camera beards and people not getting milestone items. The update last night should have fixed it according to robin, try going into a server and dieing and see if you get your weapons.

  11. Wow, that's actually nice. Plus it does the extra 25% for splash damage too I think, so even if you shoot the ground right next to them you're set. And the 80% speed increase adds to the easiness of doing that.

The splash damage is reduced, otherwords it would be completely overpowered lol. The whole point of the gun is to be more accurate with the rockets. The damage is increased by 25% but it has a 70% smaller splash.

  12. I'm scared to go to sleep now with my back facing out from the wall, in case I get backstabbed.

If spies are a huge problem for you then turn up your sound.  The best spy checkers i know are really good soliders(400+ hours) with their ingame sound turned up to max.  You can hear a spy cloaking from an extremely long distance.

Every class except maybe spy is good for spy checking. Also you can hear the unclock sound very clearly even if your volume isn't loud since the spy update when they made it louder.

  13. So Im finally getting TF2 on my computer(well I had it, but I cant handle it).

    Here my specs:

    091102202429.png

    Cba writing it.

graphics card is Geforce 6150SE nForce 430

I know I need a better graphics card, so I amthinking bout buying a new card, this one.

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/BFG+-+NVIDIA+GeForce+8400+GS+512MB+DDR2+PCI+Express+Graphics+Card/8990407.p?id=1218007083381&skuId=8990407&st=geforce 7600&cp=1&lp=8

    Help?

Go to run and typed in "dxdiag" for specs and post those. What's your budget? buying from a place like tigerdirect or newegg is usually a lot cheaper than bestbuy.

  14. I'm actually pretty sure pyro is as easy as it gets.

    List of necessary pyro skills:

    aim

    smart movement

    Airblast

    Ability to hold left mouse

    Noob W+M1 Pyro.

I don't even play the Pyro and I know there's more to it then that.

Actually i think airblast and m1 is really all you need to be a good pyro.
