Dungeoneering
Håkon attempts to create a small rat out of mind magic.

Dungeoneering
You can't make a ball of undeath, that's impossible. Anyways you could just learn another kind of magic. Håkon takes his focus away from the tiredness and does more pushups, knowing that training is most efficiant when tired. When his arms reach a painful amount of lactic acid he begins doing situps instead.

The Back Room
They're not litterally the same, but each gene controls the function of one chromosome.

Håkon begins doing pushups.

Genes = chromosomes, they are what we get from our parents. No, there are more than two alternatives for them, say we have an avarage of ten different sets for each 2310 is a large number, 41,426,511,213,649 to be exact.

Håkon searches Earths mind for anything relevant.

The Back Room
There are two genes for each trait, we only have 46 you know.

Dungeoneering
I know... You just gotta hope popularity will pick up. Håkon sits down and begins meditating, seeking inwards in his own mind to learn more about it.

Rocco, there are, they just have different names as they lasted long enough to be their own species: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinosauropteryx http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caudipterix http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anchiornis_huxleyi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archaeopteryx http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confuciusornis EDIT: I thought you meant currently. Retech, a gene is what passes our traits, for example hair, skin and eye colour.

Sorry, I told you I would be gone for a short while when I "went to sleep". But yeah, Håkon keeps folowing.

No, one gene = Entire DNA strand + proteins. The dna changes, the gene is only slightly modified, that said we have more than 50% the same DNA sequence as flowers.

Rocco, DNA is not that simple. Say these are their specific genes: Arms x2 Scales x2 Lean x2 Teeth x2 Then there comes in one like this: Arms x2 Scales x2 Feathers x1 Lean x2 Teeth x2 It still has scales. Then its offspring gets the feather gene. Eventually some ofspring of that breeds with another with that gene and their offspring gets feathers, say then it still is accepted since those a rudimentary feathers not to different from the scales. Then the arms develop into wings the same way. Eventually they learn to fly and the better feathers and wings are carried on since those with them survive the best. Eventually the teeth are changed for beaks since the most aerodynamic ones survive more often. That continues for many generations and they grow more and more like birds. However that change takes hundreds of millenia siince it is actually the DNA, not the genes that change first.

Rocco, the reason there aren't any half raptors is because birds contain "all" their useful traits whereas those with bad traits never got the chance to pass them on.

Rocco, it's the skull of a Homo Heidelbergensis, the common ancestor of us and the neandertal (Homo Neandertalis).

Like most of Norway I'm registered as a Christian but actually Atheist. I do not believe in anything that cannot be proven. Do you believe in evolution then, it being a theory? As far as I know, it hasn't been replicated in someone's backyard yet, so you are putting faith into something that has not been proven 100% Actually it is as good as proven with the evidence of the gradual developement.- The Back Room
Earth, Archi is the one who like star trek. Rocco, humanity is but a mere child compared to other creatures like crocodiles and especially the earth itself..- The Back Room
If you get a child, is it your job to keep it out of trouble?- The Back Room
Budhism isn't ancestor worship at all. There is no 'ancients' in budhism, there is the story of Prince Siddhattha and thats as ancient as it gets. There are many buddhas, and the ancients is just what they're called they stayed on Earth until the time of the legend of Arthur/Merlin/knights of the round table.- The Back Room
I think diety would be a more proper word than god. In stargate the entire consept of Buddhism in that form is used as the belief in enlightnement and the Ancients. Edel, that is explained in Genesis in the story of Adam and Eve.- The Back Room
I was talking to Earth. And I know what I said was extremely rudimentary but doesn't Buddhism include belief in that gods may or may not exist but that they are not present among us? Edit: Earth, you just failed epicly, Buddha is proven to have lived, Buddhism is the belief that you must have good morality and that through meditation you may reach enlightnement and become a buddha (note small b).- The Back Room
Don't give a [cabbage] about gods = Budhism, though I dubt you believe in Nirvana.- Delta V

To explain the morality of the replicators, they killed millions of people in order to deplete their enemy's food source. They do not feel bad for destroying anything that might become a threat or that might help their enemy. BTW, don't try to use a floor planner when making ships, just trying to make a puddle jumper was too annoying. - The Back Room
