You check before you kill, if you're swarmed you're dead anyways. Also a machete is a large knife.

It's not good as a melee weapon, its the ultimate combination of a tool and an assassins weapon. The Gurkha, the users of kukhris were famous for sneaking into enemy camps during night and decapitate the guards, the others who found the headless guards still on their posts the morning afterwards usually fled.

A machete is good for assassination + survival, preferably a kukhri due to its shape which is optimal for decapitation as well as having both ease in cutting/chopping and flaying, also its reputation will ensure that upon saving another person that spreads the word, those who have heard of you will also fear getting on your bad side. Also your best option is to find a wilderness where man has taken its toll on predators, like in Norway (this is not bragging, this is in fact bad) where we have only a few bears, vipers and lynx and the wolf is in an early process of reintroduction after extinction.

Or damage important motoric/sensoric areas, a broken leg would slow a zombie down, a broken spine would paralyze it. And a blind and deaf zombie would only be able to find you by the scent of blood, meaning it would be forced to take breaks often to find the right direction.

You were supposed to download from the link using TortoiseSVN.

Then you have done something wrong, try downloading it again, if it still fails then I'm working on a solution. Also you need wiremod, it is also an addon gotten the same way.

There are no folders at all?

Right click the entire folder, go down to tortoiseSVN and select export on the sub-list.

Those are the files, and they're models, textures and lua files. The Name and pass for the locked one are both anonsvn.

If you've got Tortoise SVN or something similiar use these: http://svn.daggeringcats.com/stargate https://carterspack.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/carterspack If not, get it. Remember first to download to an external folder then to use the export function to get it into addons.

You get them from the GMod-Addons-RELEASES section of facepunch, download them with svn (remember to put them outside the game and export them in to avoid hidden files that slow down the game) and place them in the garrysmod/addons folder.
