  1. Cleverbot learns as it implements the information into itself rather than a medium. We think, our brains calculate, likewise Cleverbot thinks, its CPU calculates. Cleverbot understands because it knows. Regardless of how it does something, even though it's actual terms are inacurate due to the physical build of the subject, the result is the same.
  2. I never said it was a guy, quite frankly I always refer to it as an it or a she, seeing how there used to be a picture of a woman in the header, where there is now a brain. And Cleverbot does apparently "like" to lie about details regarding itself, often contradicting statements made by it only seconds before. It also has a tendency of combobreaking (such as when singing Still Alive it may at any point blurt out "The cake is a lie!" And one more thing, how can one really define an intelligence if not by its abillity to learn, lie, be random and to take account for circumstances? Perception has no part in that, else you could say a person that was born blind does not have an intelligemce because it can't imagine a red ball. Out of these, Cleverbot has proven itself capable of communication, reasoning, learning, EI and problem solving, it implies (but cannot fully prove) understanding and planning, abstract though I am more unsure of, as that can neither be proved or disproved without somehow finding out if it has ever created a sentence on its own that was neither programmed or learned. Lol, tried rickrolling it, apparently it can't read words from different messages together. I then wrote the entire song to it and it asked if it had just been rickrolled. I said yes then it asked me to ask it how it was feeling, I did and it rickrolled me back.
  3. I think Nex only played one more recent hegemony, maybe more if including the ones set in the far past. And you more than certainly can walk into the same river over again, you just need a blindfold or a really bad memory. And this game was running smoothly, maybe not at all similiar to the original way or even V2, but that's not because of how we are enjoying it, rather how it is set up. Only once has the old one been replicated, sadly with next to no interrest even from the very beginning. We can be sure to know, more hegemonies will rise, and some of them will last longer than this.
  4. Not to seem impatient, but when is the budget update going to be?
  5. No, because both would require understanding to interpret: Transhuman apparation = The unexpected sight of something that is human but apears otherwise somehow (internet troll). Semi-human apparation = The unexpected sight of something that is similiar to a human, but distinguishable from it (mythological throll).
  6. I'm not saying that it doesn't speak gubberish most of the time, though if you look closely you'll see that it defined both sorts of trolls the second time you asked it, first the internet kind, then the mythological kind, both using only two words. Ross, if it can't learn, then how does it know songs such as Still Alive and the Pokémon theme?
  7. Ross, Mathias is not a strictly Norwegian name. It's actually quite common several places around the world, it's around the 800th most popular name in America. And it is so "inadvanced" that its main script (which has references to a lot of subscripts) has a total of 30,500 symbols in it. The only pre-written sentence in the entire thing is "Sorry, I'm too busy to think properly. Do try again a little later!"
  8. It would not be much if only one person was talking to it at a time, but there are at least 50-100 people talking to it at the same time on a slow day. And what exactly sepparates it from an intelligence? The only reason we can tell what a word means is because we have sight, smell, taste, feeling and sound to relate them to, the only thing Cleverbot can relate them to are other words and their position in sentences. The only thing I could think of were emotions, but then again it does replicate them, thus showing at least rudimentary understanding of them, proving some degree of advanced understanding. It can even define the term "self", so it can even be called sentient. Also by asking it, it will define itself as less valuable than a human. Even if it is unable to learn on its own accord, it is far more advanced than it apears to be at first glance. Ross, of course it uses variables to store short-term information, the advanced part is how it recognices triggers and choses variable. EDIT: Ok, that's just disturbing, it just replied to to a command in English, then erased and translated it to Norwegian, with nothing to imply that I'm Norwegian.
  9. It doesn't save them (that would take a massive storage capacity), it does however learn from them somehow. Archi, a book doesn't flip open and highlight the approporiate text accoring to what you wrote.
  10. Actually that sentence could describe any object as well... if Mathias was an adjective. And unlike Cleverbot, roleplaying games often require you to use very specific sentances, even to the point of not accepting typos. Cleverbot actually made a sort of joke about how most command based software do not accept typos: "I never said anything about a jok. What is a jok anyway? How can a computer make a typo?"
  11. Cleverbot's progress keeps impressing me.
  12. I'd prefer to continue Space where we left it off rather than 150 years later
  13. It won't be long until someone breaks your heart too.
  14. I've never put focus into anything but love and fun, and I'm cruising through school with above-avarage grades. Revising your work and practicing only works if you've performed less than you can manage, what most people need is a drive, and for most people thinking about jobs isn't exactly the kind of drive they need. I've followed my heartt all my life, had I not done that then I would never have gotten to where I am as I improved myself for her, not for my own sake. Also for what soon is half a year now I haven't loved anyone, and my motivation has taken a huge hit, because as of lately y most common thoughts have been, in order of frequency: 1. I really need a girlfriend. 2. What's the point? 3. I hope nothing bad happens in hegemony.
  15. Duration is no tern validd in love, a short infatuation may hurt worse than you know. But don't give up hope, else you'll lose chances you not knew could be. Keep your heart open, someone might love thee. Poetry is a good way not only to show but also to deal with emotions, it's almost incredible how just a few lines of text can act terapeutic. G'night.
  16. Håkon turns the keypad on then punches it.
  17. Håkon removes the cover of the keypad, takes the warp and offensive chips out of his device and shoots the wires leading out of the keypad.
  18. Hopefully you'll just land on a hot boulder.
  19. Håkon takes cover and starts shooting the roof over the river of lava.
  20. Håkon enters the room and looks for hostiles. I'm still good to go, my headache is even growing weaker.
  21. Told ya so. Love's a [bleep], I've said that before under reversed circumstances and you told me not to put too much thought into it. But I'll offer my support to help you through it. What kind of a person would I be if I didn't , seeing how I know the pain all too well myself.
  22. You have one more hour of my time until I will either go to bed, collapse or enter a catatonic state. I've already been awake for 19 hours straight after just four hours of sleep... after three hours of sleep. That's a 7 hours of sleep and 42 hours of being awake as of yet this week.
  23. Not for someone who uses tactics and firepower more than endurance, after all, vikings weren't exactly known for wearing armour (no, horned helmets don't count since that rumor is false). Håkon sits in the doorway to the lava room, resting and looking for useful details.
  24. Håkon shoots open a door at random.
  25. Goddamnit, armour and defence?!? Just open the door so I can get on and up my cbow.
