  1. Hello all, I was a bit on the sluggish side today and only mustered a 44k xp gain. Not exactly the amount I wanted but at least its still progress. I have developed a new system for my Rimmy mining after looking over some mining maps. There is an ever so convienient general store just 15 seconds away (by running).

    I actually went wildy pking as a break today with a friend who had not logged on for ages. I actually triumphed in 4 pks :D...but lost the last five (lost a chunk of change to lobs due to that). Going to stockpile ores for the rest of the day to make spare steel wildy sets for my pk breaks with my friend.

    Anyways, once I hit level 81 mining, I'm planning to train up range to 40 for dhides and try another mock rune run. I will take the advice of you smart posters when it comes to the next mock trip and follow it to a t. I might die more horrible deaths but at least with some more experience on my side this time.

  2. Again let me repeat, we all are apart of the human race.

    Thanks for the touching words there Shahdie! Sorry we're all apart are we? Hmm Me Confused! :uhh:

    Forgot to space out words there heh...but my point is basically we derive from the same race of beings. Its due to social stupidity that we choose to seperate ourselves from one another.

    yes yes we all have the right to express ourselves blah de blah, guess what, I have the right to tell somebody they're an [wagon] if they irritate me. I could give the slightest about social groupings, but if somebody comes in to my place of work and decides to be grumpy, moody and ill mannered (3 things In my experience occur in "emos") then I'm damned if i'm going to help them out - I won't even give people their change until they say thank you.

    Too right too right!! Exactly what I was thinking. Lady Shahdie unfortunately we don't live in a world full of pink fairies and we need tor realise in reality that its the case.

    I guess you have lost the concept of what being humane to each other really means. We do not need pink fairies to act mature and not stereotype now do we? I hate this whole cynical approach to things. The reason why our world is so stereotypical is the fact that we accept it (just as you did in your post). Sorry man, but I rather vouch for a better world than let my expectations of our race fall so low =;...

  3. im so bored of runescape this is like the bodem you experience before quiting, i need some one to train with me or i might quit :( .

    I feel as if my holiday is being wasted bits are and the bits that

    arent i think that are because i dont have time for runescape

    im going insane at one point its like mining !!!!!!!!!

    and then its like oh stuff this ! or im getting no replys!! im going

    to have a lil fit.

    :ohnoes:

    I'd love to train with you...just don't have p2p access is all. If you ever visit f2p worlds and locations, I have no problem dropping by to train with you or keep you motivated. You got to remember that there is no time limit for this goal. It is an arduous journey for those who have a life and other commitments besides RuneScape. Just keep at it at a steady pace, one powermining session at a time. Do not neglect real life engagements just to achieve this goal faster. I personally take the weekends off and devoid myself from RuneScape time. Stay strong buddy, you will make it!

  4. Again let me repeat, we all are apart of the human race.

  5. Hey you're the girl I saw in the mining guild yesterday! I was picking up your coal. lol I didn't want to bother you and your friends talking about the stork lol. I'm currently going for 99 mining too, but mainly as a way to get ores for my 99 smithing goal! Maybe you could help me out with it. Good luck on your 99 mining goal! :D

    My, my its a small world :lol:! Yes I'd love to be of help...

  6. I'm actually sick of stereotypes. I do not believe in labelling people emo, goth, preppy, nerd, jock, or whatever other nonsense grouping society has come up with. Someone who is depressed, is depressed for many other reasons; not for being apart of an imaginary group. Maybe that person has suffered trauma, lost someone close, has been physically/emotionally abused, etc. I do not label someone emo for being depressed, being dramatic, wearing a certain style of clothing, etc. Really people in this thread need to grow up and quit the stereotypes. All of us are vastly different individuals. Sneering at each other only makes me lose hope in the human race (which we all are part of by the way). Because honestly, we all have those moments of feeling like we do not belong... So we all sadly resort to seperating ourselves farther and farther way from each other. Again let me repeat, we all are part of the human race.

  7. Ah another day of powermining passes and draws to a close. It was quite a productive day, I gained around 70k mining xp, was aiming for 100k but fatigue got the best of me. I actually ventured into the Chasm Mine today or what others know as the infamous Scorpion Pits (hears the sighs of relief from countless fellow powerminers). I already miss my beloved Rimmington :XD: (hears the shocked gasps from countless fellow powerminers)...the day was as follows:

    Unlike the quiet seclude of Rimmington, the Pits are a chatter and buzz of activity. The desert winds carry the echos of "free rune pic plzzzzz," "mining lvl???," and "someone save me from the scorps!!!" The only good news was that my eyes were relieved of a day without having to follow my little 3d sprite back and forth on the screen. Unfortunately after 30 minutes I resorted to turning Public Chat off. This was due to a few unpleasant conversations. Many of couse being the colorful exchanges with the local beggars but the worst being with the non-believers, the haters, and the just plain jealous. The non-believers were those who scoffed at my level, which I just tell them to easily check hiscores (immediately after checking they give the ever original "my main has 99 ____"). The haters were those who would yell "noob go mine addy," which some could actually mine it themselves already. Lastly, the just plain jealous were those who were any where from one combat level higher than me to twenty, angered by the fact that a lower level than themselves possessed somewhat of a better mining than they did. Competition wise the atmosphere between powerminers was magnified by the popularity of the spot (meaning that very few would understand the world was taken but many would rudely barge in and cause themselves and myself to barely gain any xp with the 30-50% success rate at gaining a rock). All in all I think I still will spend most of my powermining sessions at Rimmington. Not only is there a nice tranquility and emptyness about the spot but I seem to have a grown a liking to the place. For those of you who are regular Pit miners, you have my absolute respect for your patience and integrity! Though I'm rather on the patient side, I have a fear of being easily irritated with the tension of the Pits. I rather be at my best "Lady Shahdie" at all times :thumbsup:...

  8. Well the story behind my name goes back to my Persian roots. I usually am on the brighter side and start my day with a smile... so I tried to think of a Persian name or word that reflects that. After researching many different names that were both Persian and meant something to do with happiness, I fond Shahdie (which literally meant happiness). Since Rs was a game with knights, chivalry, and fair damsels; I added on the title Lady to make it a little closer to the Arthurian feel of the game. So hence the creation of the name Lady Shahdie (Lady Happiness).

  9. Hey all, back again. No real xp gains since yesterday due to the 4th of July holidays. Instead I spent time with my family and watched some of the local fireworks from our backyard on the hill ::'. The only update I have to bring to your viewing eyes is this rather controversial new mining update Jagex has implemented. Below is the new mining animation (or what some refer to as the new zombie mining):

    Lady Shahdie Swinging the Old Pickaxe

    newmininganimationlswy8.gif

    What was once clean solid strokes are now realistic heavy swings. Though this brings some realism to the mining skill, the animation is a bit on the odd side and causes some technical concerns. Many miners have noted that the animation seems to slow down mining "easy" rocks (such as iron) but is relatively the same for "harder" rocks (such as mith/addy/rune). I cannot say I am extremely happy with this update nor do I enjoy it much, however; it has not seem to terribly affect my powermining. The day in which I achieved level 80 mining was the first day this update was being implemented. It will still take some getting used to and it may even slow down things...but as always, I look at it as just more difficulty added to this exciting challenge :)!

    3:22 PM PST Edit: Just hit the 2 Mill mining xp mark! Yay...

  10. Thanks everybody for the congrats, glad you all found my blog somewhat interesting to read ::'. I would love to meet any of you in-game sometime!

    Congratz and why don't u get membership?

    As far as membership ickdeep, if you read the section "Lady Shahdie on RuneScape" in the first introductory post, it explains why. Maybe by the time I achieve 99 I'll be able to obtain it :thumbsup:...and if not, the dream and the accomplishment is what matters to me more.

  11. I am not too fond of this animation either :?...I Had a Deal interestingly broke it down in milliseconds that do exhibit the potential for much longer powermining sessions. I powermined 94k xp today on my way to 80 mining. I did not see a major difference in my xp gain. I spent 3 and a half hours to gain the xp. Before this graphic update xp gains for iron powermining were 30k and up. So ultimately it may have taken me 10-30 minutes longer (considering that the remaining 4k is easy to powermine in a few minutes). Now I do not know if most of the extra time was due to the animation or me mining slower due to the fatigue (which the latter is usually true because by hour 2 I may powermine 26-28k). But I can certainly notice the visible difference, where as before I gained the iron instantly in one clean stroke...I now gain it after a 0.6 second chisel (as I Had a Deal clocked it).

  12. /\ Is finally inconsistent (didn't say inferior scum on final post :P)...

    \/ Is not inferior scum :thumbsup:...

    I am absolutely ecstatic! After several months of hard work, I have reached a number of godly proportions...80! The final 94k xp sprint from level 79 to level 80 took a good 3 and a half hours. After the disaster of my mock rune mining trip last night, this was just the pick-me-up I needed :D. As on-top-of-the-mountain as I feel right now, I still realize that it is a long way to level 99. However, with head held up high and pickaxe in hand, I continue my epic journey to reach this impossible goal...

    Lady Shahdie's First Mock Rune Mining Run

    All pictures can be found inside the hide tags.

    As I described in the post yesterday, I finally did attempt my first mock (by mock I mean pretend since I do not have 85 mining yet), rune mining run at 8:00 PM PST last night. Rather than a glorious first attempt, it turned into a rather pathetic effort...whether it makes you laugh or cry, for better or for worse, here's what happened to miss Lady Shahdie.

    [hide=A Most Encouraging Start...]mocktrip1bs2.gif[/hide]

    The trip began on the quiet and uncrowded world of 128. I was raring to go with my pick and scimmy slyly concealed in my inventory. Though a bit more armor cover would have been smarter I threw caution to the wind and continued with my black rags (figuring that armor would slow me down in the case of an abort). I approached the wilderness ditch and with a hop and a prayer jumped across it. I remained close to the most western edge of the wild the whole time so as not to run into pkers too easily. For a moment my heart almost stopped as I saw a white dot just ahead of me in lvl 28 wild but fortunately they ran immediately to the east when they noticed my blip on the map. After what felt like hours but was only minutes of walking, I finally passed Evil Altar and approached the Lava Maze.

    [hide=Not a Soul in Sight! Not an Ore Either...]mocktrip2tg6.gif[/hide]

    There it was! The outcrop of two black rocks revealed themselves on my screen and I was blessed to see there was not a soul in sight. I gave a quick sigh of relief and took a few deep breaths. I decided that in order to simulate real rune mining, I would take out my pick and wait at least 2 minutes next to each rock if it contained a rune ore (due to the excruciatingly long time that I have heard these ores take to mine). So having commit to that plan I pressed log out and selected the next world to go to. I was again greeted by no ores. I logged out and chose another world. Again no ore to be had. The third time I selected a world and logged in I glimpsed something bright blue running down the vein of the rock. It was actual rune ore! I was about to start my simulation mining setup by equipping my pick and waiting two minute duration. All of a sudden, a white dot menacingly approaches. I logged out with Jedi reflexes and was glad to avert a potential death.

    [hide=First Blood is Drawn...]mocktrip3ms6.gif[/hide]

    World after world started passing before my eyes yielding no ores till the unthinkable happened. First blood was finally drawn, mine! It was a lvl 68 skulled mage with staff at the ready, just waiting for a rune miner to appear. I metaphorically tightened up my boot straps and...ran like a totally scared chick wanting to get the heck out of there! I immediately opened the log out tab after hitting Print Screen and managed to escape death yet again. For ten minutes I was able to relax again and just passed runeless and pkerless worlds. The feeling of failure was starting to set in after not being able to at least simulate mining one rune rock.

    [hide=Doom and Disaster...]mocktrip4bm7.gif[/hide]

    The ten minutes of temporary peace were finally broken when I logged into a world holding a lvl 73 swordsman/archer clad in iron. His swiftness in attacking me was enough to make me jump in my seat when I had only been logged in for a few milliseconds. I took out my scimmy and booted for the non-multi combat area to start whacking at the deadly red spiders (an old rune miner trick to avert disaster). He was clever and with sixth-sense like actions cut in front of me whenever I tried to click on a spider. I should have right clicked them instead and select the "attack" option from the drop down menu but I was too nervous to think. I started heading back to the lava maze and then sprinting a little to the south to escape long enough to log out. He whacked a couple 10s and 12s with his rune scimmy (it didn't help at all that my hitpoints were already halved by the previous attacker). Finally he pulled out a willow bow and let two steel arrows fly into my back to finish me.

    [hide=Though an Unsuccessful Attempt Tomorrow is Another Day...]mocktrip5bo7.gif[/hide]

    As I witnessed my character collapse to the ground and appear at lumbridge castle I felt like a failure :cry:. I logged out and called it a night. Though it was an unsuccessful first attempt I realize many more like these are going to be ahead of me when I really reach 85 mining. Though I am inexperienced and made many mistakes (not taking a bit of food with me, not taking a few teleport runes with me, not training range enough to wear light d-hide, not attacking a red spider when I had the chance, etc.)...tomorrow is another day and I can always keep trying till I become worthy enough to be...

    A Rune Miner

  15. I believe you are correct in this discovery. It seems that the "top of the top" players, as you put it, seek maxing out skills in a whole other sense now. I doubt the vast majority of players will have this as their new goal (I'm simply peachy with aiming for 13 million xp in mining right now :?), but those who are of legendary proportions would very possibly take this on as their new challenge. I do not see much appeal in achieving such a goal though. At that point there is nothing left in the game to do besides getting rich or doing quests (which 99% of these players have most likely already done).
