  1. Lets make this clear... stalves is the politicaly correct plural use of the word staff.... And I though I made it perfectly clear in the first post that these could not be used in the wilderness. I guess I forgot that... #-o AND although yes, you could go for a slayer cape with this, its no advantage over using melee for that purpose, when the only thing you are using up is food. Even so, there is guthans for that, of course with the cost of ocasional repair.
  2. oh, thats right! #-o Thanks for reminding me :) I'll change the information there
  3. Sounds like a good idea to me! Hmmm... I wonder why there's 24 views and only one post besides my own... :-k :wall:
  4. Haha, people do get really rude at the shilo gem rocks sometimes. They tell you that there were 4 other people or so who went to bank, expecting you to switch worlds. :XD:
  5. Hmm... Perhaps you could get some xp out of making the staff. I don't know, but maybe giving the amout of xp for the amount of casts you could get out of the amount of runes required for the staff would be too much. :-k Any ideas?
  6. It's no secret; there are stalves out there that give you an unlimited amount of specific elemental runes, and other stalves that have a combonation of two different elemental runes. Now its also widley known that training in magic can become very expensixe, hence many use elemental and combonation stalves to cut down the cost. However, for a mage casting medium to high level combat spells, the effect of an elemental staff doesnt do that much. If only we could create stalves that allowed us to cast just one battle spell of our choice, which required no additional runes. Well, thats the idea here. A spell stalve: Of course it cant be free to make! How would you have unlimited casts if all of those runes werent put "inside" the staff? Much like creating portals in your POH, or changing the element of a staff, you need all of the runes to do this. The requirement to make a stalve would be based off of the magic level required for the spell, and the amount of runes needed would be based off the level of the spell. (low, medium and high) For low, strike spells: 100x required runes for one regular cast For medium, bolt spells: 200x required runes for one regular cast For high, wave spells: 300x required runes for one regular cast So for example, an earth wave staff would require 2100 earth runes, 1500 air runes, and 300 blood runes to make. To make the staff, you need any kind of staff relavent to the spell. For example, making an earth wave staff would require some kind of earth staff. It can be a regular elemental staff, a battlestaff, or a mystic staff. After collecting this and the runes, you need to take those items to the obelisk relevant to the staff and spell. With everything needed in your inventory, use the staff on the obelisk. You will now have a spell staff. If you weild it, you will now have unlimited runes for ONLY that spell. So if you have a spell that uses blood runes, it cant be used to replace blood runes for any other spell. Here is what the magic page would look like while holding the staff. Another thing you can do with it is change the spell with the best available crytal ball from the study in your POH. Ifr you have the required runes, you can change it there. I believe that the stalves should look a little special. With straight wood, unlike normal stalves, maybe decorated with some sort of trim wrapping around it. *****The MOST IMPORTANT note I am including about these stalves is that casting the spell will ABSOLUTLY NOT give you any magic xp. If they did, then people would be able to reach amazing magic levels in no time, and for almost no money (besides making the staff or buying it). *** Another big note I forgot before... These should NOT work in the wilderness! You would get about a fourth of the total xp for making a staff, that you would for casting all of the spells you could get out of the required runes you have. Thats the idea! Share your thoughts please :D
  7. I hate when people refuse to help others with the smallest of things :wall: It's not like it would take much time away from whatever they were doing... Also, if you have witnessed anybody being rude to another, feel free to include that.
  8. Oof, I'm sorry to hear that :( This thread is always here for that! :D
  9. For those of you who havent read my other guide, stop on by. This practice of not relying on other players goes hand in hand very well with being muted. :
  10. I believe the crudest I've been to somebody is when they were spamming my chat with trade... I flipped out :-w
  11. Hello all! Have you ver been happily training at your favorite spot with multiple strangers? Yes? Well have you even gone to attack a monster and another person beats you to it? Yes? Well, has it ever happened when that person continues to rub this in your face, calling you a noob, and laughing at you? Heres another question; have you ever done this so somebody else? This thread is about the rudest and the crudest. What is the rudest thing anybody has ever done to you in game, and what is the crudest thing you have ever done to somebody else? Also, feel free to tell us about the things people do which just grind your gears. Here is a simple format if you want to use it: Rudest ---- (what someone did to you) Crudest ---- (what you did to someone else) Let us begin! :D
  12. Good point Doomster, it would be funny to see somebody buying nats and alching bronze helms. However using this method, or anything other method which involves getting all of the materials yourself, you could afford to alch bronze helms. This is because you wouldnt technicaly be losing money, you could just be making more money instead. It's like driving a car with unlimited gas across the United States when you could have taken a free plane ticket. Also alching something worth less than the materials would be a total waste of time in getting everything.
  13. True, but I still like to know what is going on around me. :P
  14. Yep, I pretty much examine everything, usually a couple of times.
  15. Always on world 91. I tend to wander around a bit, so you may catch me somewhere. My private chat is ALWAYS on friends. When im not wandering I am frequently cutting magic logs at the wizzards tower south of seers, or the other trees north of there. More often than that now these days I am either playing castlewars, pest control, training on dags underneath the lighthouse, or on brine rats.
  16. I know, and I'm not saying that this method should be used by everyone all the time. Im just explaining how its done, and how much more benificial it is then buying/selling and working one skill for those who have enough drive to do it this way. But if it took THAT long I wouldnt do it. It seems much faster than simply woodcutting, fishing or mining, and even more so if you work in smaller quantities anywhere from 100 to 500 bows, as I stated in the guide. :
  17. And actually with this method, you do make more money. A magic longbow alchs for 1.5k, sells to players for 1.3k, and the log can be sold for only 1k. So its actually better this way.
  18. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to add that at the end! #-o Time to make a list of benifits. :
  19. Thanks for the compliemts. : I do agree with you Oleander, initialy you could make more simply woodcutting, fishing or mining. But this way can be very effective and much less monotonous when you can't find a buyer or seller. Half of the time I do this, while the other half I simple cut wood.
  20. Please post below. Give me some compliments, constructive criticism, or point out any typos/errors. : Also, feel free to ask any questions so that I can compile a list of FAQ's.
  21. Hello all, If you are reading this guide, then chances are youÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re looking for a way to make your own money, without being dependent on other players what so ever. Before you read any further, know that being successful at this takes a great deal of time and effort, however you may have the necessary skills already. Regardless, putting my instructions into action takes time also. Here are the necessary skills: 75 woodcut* 85 fletching* 10 crafting 55 magic* 30 mining 44 runecrafting Completion of the Rune Mysteries quest *Note that these are the ideal levels for the maximum profit. You can really use any logs to fletch and alch any bow, and low level alchemy still works. The runecrafting level is still a must. Being Self-Sufficient Wouldn't it be nice if the general store bought your magic logs for 1.1k each, just as other players do? Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that so you must sell your logs to other players. This is how things should rightfully work, otherwise there wouldn't be as much fletching, and in turn alching. Speaking of those money making methods, those are what you will be using to become self-sufficient. Woodcutting, fletching, and alchemy. Another very key one is runecrafting. Since the player-built-economy of RuneScape works upon a supply and demand system and not a demand and supply system, to make a profit most people have to sell their raw materials/finished goods to other players, or buy them if you are in the alchemy business. The method I am talking about involves no buying, no selling, and it works all around raw materials finished goods, and alchemy. You do everything on your own, and make a 100% profit, losing no money to fluctuating prices, and even better is the 0% risk of being scammed. Therefore, here, you are being self-sufficient. The Raw Materials (Note that this guide assumes that you already have the correct skills for every step. We will be working with the best materials available, meaning magic logs, magic longbows, and high alchemy. However, any wood can be used to start off, and any level of alchemy.) You canÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t start making this work unless you have raw materials. Nothing would exist without the raw materials. Essentially, it is the woodcutter, the miner, the fisherman, the farmer and the hunter that fuels the consuming skills. Those are the fletchers, the blacksmiths, the cooks, the crafters, the runecrafters, the herblorists, the construction worker and whoever literally burns their money away on firemaking. Those secondary skills in turn fuel all forms of combat. The armour, the runes, the arrows, the bows, the potions and the food. Food is the most important as it allows you to keep fighting, which allows for slayer and the bones for prayer. The drops of monsters also fuel the other skills whether the drop be seeds, herbs, runes, armour, arrows, tools and what have you. More sought after items are also sold directly to other players which further adds to the economy. The economy is a cycle. However, the main practice here is to escape this cycle and make the money for yourself. Again, it all gets down to the raw materials. The method explained here is an ideal one. Cut the wood, pick the flax, spin the strings, fletch the bows, mine the rune essence, craft the natures and alch the bows. This could be done with anything worth alching, such as mining coal and iron and smithing steel plates to alch. Anyway, lets pick out the raw materials here. 1.) Magic logs 2.) Flax 3.) Rune essence. Those are made into the bows, bow strings and nature runes. It is a simple concept. First go to your favorite woodcutting spot and cut down the trees, bank, and return until you have the desired amount of logs. For the amount of logs that you have, pick the same amount of flax After that, spin the flax into strings Then continue to fletch all of your logs into bows (preferably longbows) Afterwards, string all of the bows Now you can alch the bows... However at this point you have no nature runes. So now, mine the rune essence. Once you have the same amount of essence that you do bows, its time to make the nature runes. There are several guides out there dedicated to explaining the more efficient ways of doing this, but my to me, the best method is using the fairy-ring nearby the nature alter, which is of course brings you very close to the Zanaris bank. The code for this location is CKR. Another easy method is using the Shilo Village bank. Whatever method you use, craft all of your nature runes. The final step is to alch all of the bows. The process is now done. It obviously took a while with all of the steps, but you made a 100% profit. Remember to do each cycle in smaller quantities, say anywhere from 200 to 500 bows. This way you wont spend forever collecting your materials and making everything, instead you will be doing this cycle quicker and effectively more often for a big profit. So chop your wood, pick your flax, spin your bow strings, fletch your logs, string your bows, mine your essence, craft your natures, alch your bows, rinse and repeat! Benifits of this method: 1.) 100% profit made 2.) No chance to be scammed by other players 3.) No dealing with fluctuating prices on goods 4.) No dealing with finding a buyer or seller (no waiting to get on world 2! \ ) 5.) Much less monotonous then working in one skill 6.) Experience gained in multipule skills 7.) A magic longbow alchs for 1.5k, sells to players for 1.3k, and the log can be sold for only 1k. This means alching would make you more money. The difference is made up by the nature rune, but then again, you can make those. :P
