  1. Get construction.

    1) Fast

    2) Might need it later for gilded altar, anyways. :)

    3) Might need it for teleportation portals to places such as Kharyrll (Canifis), Varrock, etc.

I personally find smithing pretty useless as you can buy almost anything that can be smithed...

You may be able to buy some things from the Grand Exchange: but if you (by chance) receive a Draconic Visage (just as an example); why pay the 2000K (2M) on having Oziach make it into a Dragonfire Shield, when at 92 Smithing you can do it for free? :) And then there is the matter of certain levels for certain Quests. So yes, to some extent it is a "useless skill." This is just my opinion, some people don't mind paying the 2000K for the shield, yet others may not have the 2000K and instead either sell it, or ask for the assistance (which I believe JaGeX has fixed now, so you can't).

Visage is actually worth more than dfs atm, and if they're usellable (probably), you could req. assist,.

Oh, and 70 is nowhere near the same ballpark as 92,

  2. ^that but here's my question:

Would you be considering making a non-drinking venue so that people under the age of 21 could attend, but still keeping an age minimum, an idea could be having a drinking area?

Make it like strip clubs in some states; make minors require a wristband so they can't buy alcohol.

-If you had to do anything differently, what would it be and why?

You really said STRIP clubs? Minors? What the heck?

  3. What I personally do is try to be efficient, but if it gets too hard a rythm to maintain or jsut too boring, I stop.

However, I don't see why people are implying that you don't have fun when you're efficient...

How in the world does making the best gp/xp | revenue potion in herblore less funthan making whichever you want. Making a pot simply is making a pot.

Same for potions use in slayer. Of course, when people say it's best to re-pot every 6:32 minutes, they just give a figure of a good time to do so.

Personnaly, I've yet to see one example of a situation where decent efficiency causes a problem/makes you have less fun.

Pure-anti-efficiency people are just like lvl-3 skillers or "Pure F2P" people. They make things harder for themselves, then think they deserve recognition for that. That's elitism too.

  4.

I really planned to not get involved in the "no life" discussion, but do you guys realize "game addiction" exists? And it's just as a bad as a gambling addiction, but without the financial consequences.

I'm not one of these guys, but how the heck could gambling addiction be that bad if not for the money problems?

  5. Are there any plans for more boss monsters? If so, what will be done to prevent the huge imbalance that exists at the moment, where anyone without the absolute maximum stats and gear doesn't stand a chance at getting a loot?

Good one, especially the new bosses part.

    Mine:

What would be Jagex's definition of a medium or high-leveled character?

  6. no it is not!

Don't project your own lifestyle on others:

-15M xp still takes 100+ hours to get from start.. - That's a lot of time to spent on a game.

1500 total is equivalent to 60 in every skill. About 300 000 xp in every skill average, to be fair. 300k*25 skills= 7,5M xp.

You said 30 to 90 minutes, so let's make it an hour.

    15 000 000 xp/xh=xp/h (I put the 0s so that you can visualize).

Let's assume 30k xp/h is a good relaxed gamestyle rate

    7 500 000 xp / (30 000 xp / h) = 250 h

That'd be a total of 250 days of presence at 1 hour a day. Not high for "High level" in a MMO.

  7. Eh. Massive trolling community?

The people who haven't experienced the community from 2001-2005 probably wouldn't understand it, but it used to be really great. The mental age has gone down alot in the last 5 years.

I played since 2004. I wouldn't say the community now is that bad. Personally I think it improved after the removal of the wildy.

QFT. It's just that while the average age stays pretty much the same (or at least doesn't get up as fast as ours), so players seem more immature now than 5 years ago to you, although they're the same.

And yes, In my opinion, removal of the wilderness got rid of many, many immature folks.

  8. Someone did a few tests when that update first came out. Running, then walking to a destination is the same speed as running, then resting and running to a destination. However, if you find a musician, that's obviously the best method of recovery.

Its highly subjective to your agility level though.

If you're low this is true, but when you get to about 80+ (as the op is) rest then run, beats walking

Look up a few posts. At 86 agility it is still a tie.

In my experience from 80+ resting was definitely faster than walking.

Try doing your own test and look at the actual numbers. It only seems faster.

On the mental aspect of it, seeing is more than enough.

  9. I started playing Runescape in 1994, and I only respect people who got 99 mining through copper and tin.

Ah, did you find the windows for workgroups 3.11 version of runescape the best version ever too?

    </sarcasm>

    On topic: I guess you miss-typed 2004 s 1994 as the runescape beta started in 2001 :-)

You, sir, just failed at seeing sarcasm yourself.

Which is quite ironic coming from someone who used sarcasm.

  10. I cringe when I see a fletching cape because the color scheme just looks bad to me. Cooking cape doesn't look half bad though.

Oh, I loved that fletching cape, and still like it.

To me, people wearing a skillcape aren't half as pretentious as people who go around sayingthey are "Pure f2p" or that they started in classic, or those who said BEW cheapened their accomplishments (Although these people simply didn't want to get their highscores spots taken). All that elitism, that's part of RS.

Skillcapes look pretty nice and add some diversity to RS. I don't see why people wearing them should bother you.

    What the hell is BEW?

    Bonus exp weekend.

  12. I hear it's up to 60k/hr at 99, so 30-35k is somewhat the lower end of the scale.

60k figures are an exxageration, if you consider that the person doing it has human concentration. At my level, it's more like 43-47k

  13. I'd highly suggest against going down the cannonball route, considering you could make more money at green drags in the time you saved than you would be losing by goldsmithing.

I guess I can't talk about goldsmithing though, I went the stupidly expensive route to 99 which cost me 85m :P

It cost me 105M when Ibought it, ores were 315 at that time. ow they're 250 or so...

  14. Hey tip.it,

Im just fooling around on RuneScape now, visiting the game i loved :)

And i want to get my smithing up..

Now i plugged in the data into the smithing calculator..

If i want to get to lv 65 from lv 58, i need to make 8000 pairs of cannonballs!!!!!

    8000 steel bars!!!!!!

Thats insane! i could never have that much patience..

If i wanted to gain just 2 levels, to lv 60, it would take over 1000.

Please help, i just cant grind for that many hours..

Any other ways to train smithing?

I have 2m to start, but i need to make profit.

Profit doesn't go well with smithing xp. Earn mney, then superheat gold.

  15. I don't understand computers that much, but would this mean that numbers(2.17b) would go the long computer format?

My question exactly. technically, they'd be free to do so if they implement it on every world. (Raising skill caps from 200M to 1b+, perhaps? Because they'd have to set one...Or maybe not.)

  16. The only thing about them that gets me is when people say, "Nice X cape." Instead of, "Nice 99 X."

I train skills to 99 as something to do really. Working on 90+ melee while doing Slayer and Farming on the side to break up the monotony. I wanna start GWDing for money.

The cape= the 99 to just about everyone. You're really playing on words and trying to criticize something, here.

  17. Ive made 24 mil in waiting for a ge update. That works out to 1mil an hour.

Its a bit of a bottleneck to get the money to start though

Waiting for what item to update? how did you make 24 mil like that?

    He's flipping.

And don't expect good advice about it in here. People who are good at it don't share their secrets.
