  1. Being F2P, I can't really afford to be sentimental, although I held onto my blurite sword way too long (recently dropped). Aside from that, I used to train on the lesser demon in Melzar's maze (I enjoy solitude), and at one point I'd collected a couple hundred of those green keys. No real reason. They're untradable, so I couldn't even show them off. I just felt compelled to save them, like a hunter collecting antlers as trophies. :-P I eventually dropped them (one at a time, as they can't be noted) for that precious bank slot. I also watched many questers die and lose some relatively decent items (from their perspective at least), and I always messaged them and gave it all back. That's just how I roll. The gratitude I received was always worth more than their value in gold anyway. :-)
  2. Agreed. I use SwiftSwitch client (apologies if I'm not allowed to mention that here), which has the Zybez market tracker built in. Some people tell me they go by the RuneHQ prices or some other site, and I used to cross-check Zybez against other lists, but have stopped doing so. I find the ability to quickly check Zybez from my client to be so handy that I've decided to adhere to it religiously, even if I'm sometimes called names for the prices I ask/offer. When buying, I'll offer the bottom of the range, working up to the halfway mark if necessary but never paying above that, and vice-versa when selling. As of this post, Zybez pegs full rune sets at 180-200k; I wouldn't take less than 190k.
  3. Well the theory behind the style I described is that you are truly relying on strength, so you want the ammy/pot/prayer, and a rune scimmy because it delivers that damage quickly. You're trying to hit them hard and fast before they chew through your food and nonexistent defense. The monks just give a bit more prayer, and they don't conduct magic which is nice. This style is used quite a bit nowadays and I know some people who have great success with it. It's also a cheaper method for casual PKers like me who just want to jump the ditch at Edgeville for a few quickies now and then, nothing hardcore. My concern was that higher HP means lower strength to CB ratio. It annoys me to train range since it would add HP without making my melee any stronger, thereby reducing my strength ratio even further. Not sure chaps are worth that. Chaps are also one more thing you have to buy when you die, whereas monks are free. It's basically fighting naked, which is scary, but that's what makes it exciting.
  4. I plan to start a new F2P Str pure PKer with the following stats: Att: 40 Str: 60-ish Def: 1 Pray: 31 Range: 1 Mage: 1 I'm a lazy PKer so I can't be bothered with range or mage. I'll PK at Edgy in monks with a rune scim, anti-d shield, Str ammy, pot and prayer. I had one of these before and it was pretty fun to PK with but I messed up the stats. But before I start over I'm wondering if I should try to keep HP low or not. What do you think? Normally I would get Att and Str to 3 at the tutorial rats, then Att to 8 on the Varrock dummies. Neither of which raises HP. I'd also do Restless Ghost and Vampire Slayer for prayer and attack XP with minimal HP gains. I always considered this a good method. But maybe I'm wrong? Should I try to raise HP as much as possible, and even apply free XP (genie lamps, etc.) to it? Normally I'd apply those to Str...
  5. Thanks for the replies. No big deal to just keep dropping the clothes I guess. Here's another "problem": my blurite sword. I got myself a dupe when I did the quest, and although I've never even used it, just knowing that I can never get it back makes me reluctant to part with it. Somebody please tell me how silly I am and convince me to just get rid of the stupid thing.
  6. Having never been P2P myself, this guide left me confused. How does it give you more than 60 slots in your F2P bank? Is it because once you go P2P and come back to F2P, all your P2P items remain in your bank but only the F2P items may be withdrawn? If this is the case, it should be made very clear at the beginning of the guide, for n00bs like me. :-) On a side note, does anyone know just how many [usable] items there are in F2P? Is it fewer than the number of P2P bank spaces? If so, that alone might be motivation enough for me to join members for one month. :-P Anyway, the guide was well-written and clear, aside from that one big question mark I had throughout.
  7. Hi, I'm F2P-only, so bank space is a constant problem as you know. I have full frog prince, lederhosen, camo, zombie and mime, and they are really sucking up that precious space. I am inclined to drop them all since they give no bonuses and I don't really care about looking cool, but I have a question: Will I continue to receive coins instead of items of clothing if I drop the ones that I have? The 500 GP isn't a big deal; I'm just curious. My only concern is that Jagex may discontinue one of those random events, and I'll wish I'd held onto those outfits. Have any of you other F2P-only players dropped yours? Thanks!
