  1. Hi,

This was my fifth 99, certainyl the one that I spent the most time on. I reckon I put around 300M into it over a 60-day span. I "began" at level 50 when I was speaking with someone I had just met. We were talking about Hunter training, and he recommended that I hunt Jadinkos. But to do so in the most efficient manner, I would require 62 farming. His name was Mike Rose and I've thanked him many times for setting me on a new path.

I began the journey to level 62 farming, I never expected to fall in love with the skill the way I did. It has been an amazing experience, it really has. I was gaining levels like there was no tomorrow, but I finally hit 99. It's not a cape I would have ever imagined myself wearing - hell, I neglected the skill completely for over 5 years. I did the best I could do throughout. My first few mil Xp was Watermelons with the best trees and herbs, along with Limpwurts. I was paying the Farmer 10 curry leaves per patch...Spent a lot of money on many thousand leaves!

I did Palms and Magic all the way to 99 from as early as possible. Farming has been a lot of fun! I also did participate in the Livid Farm for extra XP, and of course that Remote Farming spell has worked an absolute treat!

Anyway, here's the pictures from my party! I missed a whole load of messages though, not sure what I did wrong!

  2. Same with me, if I drink, the ones I like the taste of are the 'girly' or 'soda pop' drinks. But frankly that's the only things I could drink.

I do enjoy the taste of Kopparberg though, one of the handful of drinks that I do genuinely enjoy.

Back when I was in Ireland, yes, I get dissed at having a Girly drink, but most of them pretty much shuts up when I told them I never have hang overs, because I cannot physically drink that much to develope a hangover. (I am over 90% Taiwanese, one of my distant ancestors was Dutch) Most of them however must down over 10 pints to achieve the desired effects, therefore if drunk was their goal, I'd settle for 2 pints.

    That's the Irish though :P

Yeah, no matter what I consume I've never actually been "Drunk" nor suffered from a hangover. From beer to vodka, or anything else. But I do like the "girly" drinks. Not that I will drink them on a night out (Wkd, Smirnoff, etc.) but they are lovely.

Years ago when I'd be out with the folks at our place in the country my father would drink 15+ pints, move on to shorts and then drive home.

  3. Apparently through a glitch (I'm not sure if it still works), but one guy managed 184M Thieving XP & 176M Agility Xp today.

Proof? Someone gave me the name of a person who currently has 200m agi 190m thief (this guy http://runetracker.org/track-IonutRomania ) but clearly he already had that xp from his runetracker.

I did say "apparently". I know there has been more than one case of people being rolled back after receiving a ridiculous amount of XP from points they didn't have.

  4. The Rogues’ Den has come under unwelcome scrutiny by the Imperial Guard of Burthorpe, and Brian O’ Richard has closed its doors once and for all in favour of the Flash Powder Factory.

To stay out of the slammer and ensure that his dear old Mumsie isn’t left destitute, Brian needs resourceful rapscallions such as you to operate the factory machinery; traversing the treacherous obstacles therein to collect and mix reagents, in order to create as much flash powder as possible. The factory’s a dangerous place for the flat-footed, so you’ll be removed once a set time limit is up, or if you become trapped between the doors dividing up the factory’s maze-like interior. You can boost your score by holding multiple sets of factory apparatus, additional sets of which can be “borrowed” from your fellow players. Be sure to keep an eye on yours, though; within the factory, you’ll find little honour among thieves.

Performing well within the factory will earn you points, which can be exchanged for Thieving and Agility experience. Persistence may also earn you new garments, which allow for the creation of four-dose potions, grant additional experience when creating unfinished potions, and improve performance within the factory itself. Finally, you may find pieces of old Rogues’ Den gear strewn among the rubble on the factory floor.

How to start The Flash Powder Factory:

Enter the trapdoor behind the bar of the pub in Burthorpe, and speak to Brian O’ Richard. He’ll give you instructions and all the equipment you’ll need.

    Requirements

    75 Thieving

    75 Agility

    50 Herblore

Pickpocketing sets of apparatus from other players may help to improve your score. However, those who choose not to engage in pickpocketing will be able to perform effectively.

  5. No "plans" for my life, I take it as it comes. Currently working in retail management and have another job in a pub. I never went to college after school, had two jobs for my last two years of school. I do like my work, but as said, I take it as it comes. Anything could happen, but it does have a promising end if I stick with it considering the company that it is and the contacts that I have.

After all, it's not about what you know in life, it's about who you know. The best experience one can get to set themselves up is by getting out there and doing it, reading about it isn't living it! I lost two friends growing up in school, one to an illness and the other to an motorbike accident. Makes you realise there's no point in putting yourself through unnecessary stress and worry because at the end of the day, you never know where it can take you or what can happen. Life's too short, you need to live it. Sitting in a room studying or listening to some pedantic prick that things they know it all never really was my thing. So yeah, that's where I'm at with regards to a career!

I wish all of you the best, and hopefully you achieve what you want to achieve and get the most out of your education.

  6. I grind.

I can spend months on end standing in Edgeville and not gain and single Xp, and then it can click and I can have the sudden urge to train a particular skill.

Did it with Herblore in March, got 99. Clicks and I can spend weeks at Stealing Creations, for no reason, and suddenly stop. Or spend weeks at Clan Wars.

Clicked at 50 farming a few weeks back, currently level 96. Weird.

  7. Do you have any plans? Yes, to consume excess amounts of alcohol.

Do you like this time of the year, or what don't you like about this time of year?? I like the alcohol this time of year.

Do you have any new years resolutions, and what are they? None, at all.

Do you have a favorite holiday song you wish to share? Not really! Whatever's on down the pub is good. .

  8. Haven't really had a cold shower since I used to swim competitively, that was a few years back. I stopped swimming altogether and haven't had a cold shower since.

Guess I know whats on the agenda in the morning.

    EDIT:

hot water cleans better than cold water.

    other way around, sir

Oh? That, I didn't know. Going from experience, though, I have far more luck cleaning the house and any hard surfaces (Tables, pots, etc.) with warm/hot water than I do with cold water. Just like a dishwasher works better on hot, washing machine, etc.

    Care to elaborate, Zeno?

  9. Info on what, exactly? Can you possibly discuss it any more?

"As usual", yes. Hello Page 51.

Not everyone likes to beat the same dead horse over and over.

Info on exactly where that thread went - yes they can demod but actually locking his thread twice, moving it to a login-needed rants forum, and finally deleting the thread? That was the fallout that I had to dig out of archives.

Not only demodding, but complete silencing of a legitimate complaint.

Look at the damn trend: rs1 never existed, Andrew Gower never existed, none of old legends existed (1st to 99s etc)', and soon f2p will never have existed.

I don't suppose you support these police state tactics?

Threads are deleted after the reach the end of page 50. It has always been that way.

Police state tactics? Are you kidding me? It's a company. Get with the times, please!

I honestly couldn't care what they do at this point; I'm a member. You don't even play!

    :wall:

  10. Slight digression; Do you drink for the taste, or the effect? Maybe both?

Not sure if that question is directed at everyone, but if so! I drink for both. I drink Vodka, so its all about the mixer for the taste. Beer's okay on a hot day, when outside... But not really a fan of the taste.

  11. Nice stories, certainly seems as though you've brought about a lot of good for those two people. I have no problem with giving money to the charities who help those in need, providing accommodation for those sleeping rough on a daily basis. Being completely honest, though, I don't really give money to people begging on the street. The times I have, it's only small amounts that I may have in my pocket. But knowing that's just going to go to drugs or alcohol puts me off.

Can't really say I've had any "Life changing" experiences. I've visited rehabilitation centres, and I suppose that's life changing for me. Meeting some of the most down-to-earth people I've ever met, who simply went through a rough patch in life and turned to alcohol/drugs to get through it ending up the way the have is saddening. Hearing their stories can change the way you think forever.

  12. Reply to the other thread:

I've never used Marijuana before, I've friends who have. Some who were even dealing it while going through school. I would completely disagree with legalising all drugs, as I've seen the impact the likes of Cocaine, Ecstasy, Heroin, etc. have had on people and how it has ruined the lives of those around them.

I don't think the argument about if it was legal it would lead to bad judgements is quite valid... Alcohol does that and it's legal.

There seems to be many studies that show that Marijuana can be a gateway drug, and lead to abuse of other more harder drugs. There's also some to say that no, it won't lead to the abuse of other drugs...My own personal opinion is that it would. If people were able to easily obtain it, and get the "high" from it, they could soon get bored of it. The idea of getting something more from the likes of Cocaine might be appealing.

Just reading from the Legalise Canabise Ireland website, it says:

    Long-term effects

May damage your lungs and lead to breathing problems

Has been linked with mental health problems, such as depression and schizophrenia

May lower sperm count and suppresses ovulation so you may have problems getting pregnant

Regular use may affect your memory, mood, motivation and ability to learn

    May cause anxiety and paranoia

May affect your coordination and reactions so you are more at risk of accidents, especially if you also drink alcohol

    Certainly doesn't sound encouraging.

EDIT: To add the original post of this thread:

I'm perfectly fine with alcohol laws in Ireland. I don't think anything needs to be changed. I'm a somewhat heavy drinker, normally spirits. The only thing I'd like changed are the prices! If I'm with friends down at the pub, I can easily spend 100 euro in 3 hours on Vodka.

  13. Nice post. I'm not really sure what kind of player I am, other than completely inefficient.

Over the years, I've spent more time idly standing in Edgeville than I have actually achieving something. I'm more interested in talking with people than clicking excessively. But the time will come every few months where I have an urge to do something. I power away at that, and only that, until it has been completed or I run out of motivation.

Probably two years ago it clicked to get 99 Magic, so I did. Kept at it (In Edgeville, of course). 99 Herblore, same thing. Now Farming has come up. I don't enjoy playing efficiently; I'm more interested in keeping it simple and fun. I won't touch a stat I don't like.

Even though I have many years played, I still consider myself a newb (hence the name) when it comes to most things. I don't remember where most places are, or what most items are for -- I'm useless!

I don't really see Jagex catering to any particular type of player, I think that has been expressed before. If you decide to be a "Pure" and only go one way, you are choosing from the get-go to give yourself a handicap.
