  1. Look, there's nothing wrong with tracing something. You just gotta use it for learning, it can't be the final product. If you traced that, then you probably learnt a [cabbage]load of stuff about placement of features when looking at angle, but at the same time, you didn't draw it a 100%. Please understand that there's nothing wrong with that. When you use a mouse to paint something, you didn't paint it, but who cares, it's still good, isn't it? And the reason it looks traced is because there are too few lines and the lines that are there are outlines, especially the lips. There is also evidence of sketching, the hair and so on, but I'm pretty sure it's a traced templace with a bit of thumb-shading and whatnot. It is STILL very good. Try drawing from scratch or from imagination next time. That'd be cool too. Heh, thanks, glad you like it. As for finished product, I have no patience with that stuff. A sketch is a finished work in itself. Who'm I kidding, I'm too lazy. ~witty
  2. :? It looks traced... Whatever, it looks great. ~witty
  3. I'm gonna bump this because even though Tttia seems to have lost interest, I still think drawing is an integral part of graphic art... You all should give it a try. *Bump* ~witty
  4. Let's not forget eyes large like dinner plates. Anyways, on topic, really cool technique, and really well done too. It would be really good if it were on something uhm..different, something worth looking at? Anime is just a cartoon with an asian touch of randomness, really. ~witty
  5. I left out the head on purpose. The woman isn't a little thing, she's only there to add to the picture. She's not the center of attention. Portraits sounds fun. This time I won't be able to draw from my head. ~witty
  6. Seems I'm a bit [developmentally delayed]ed. Here's my sketch for "little things": I sorta rushed through this one. Drawn from my imagination, might have some flaws. Also very small pic (about the size of your palm), so even the devart version is not very detailed. ~witty
  7. Man, this has really come along since the first post. Everything's amazing, but I love the background most. Great job ~witty
  8. I go mad with lines and then don't even bother erasing them at the end. Guess that's why it looks so sketchy, and probably why I hate finishing works. ~witty
  9. Please don't let it die. I have midterms this and next week, but I'll make sure to get something posted. Nice painting, Keiph. ~witty
  10. Let it be said that they are for the most part photos, 'manipulated'.. That being said, it's pretty cool. Good job. ~witty
  11. Nice potted plant, MrX. And Keiph, holy [bleep], markers? What kinda markers? Please tell me it's not the box of 12 crayola's, cuz you're [bleep]ing inhuman if it is. I've never tried a still life actually, of objects rather than people, which would be a portrait and not a still life, I guess, but still, I have to try one of those one of these days. ~witty
  12. You can obviously draw very well, now don't you think it's time you do something other than a dino? ~witty
  13. yup, done that :D but i think you should make a complete bg of it, or something else, i've really come to like this work of yours :) Well due to the aspect ratio..that would be quite difficult. But I do have a solution.... Wait until the print comes out, buy it, and when it arrives, tape it to one side of your monitor so you can gaze at it AND use your desktop :) I got an idea too. Send some money to me, and I'll send you some special monitor-prints tape. You can't get this in stores. ~witty
  14. I think it should stay as one thread, especially considering most themes only get about 4 or 5 sketches. And latecomers like me would make separate threads bump up, unnecessarily. ~witty
  15. Thanks, Keiph :P *has recently read Irving Stone's Agony and the Ecstasy* (Biographical novel of Michelangelo...) ~witty
  16. For the muscle sketch: http://www.deviantart.com/view/14671107/ ~witty
  17. Haven't you posted this in 2 different threads already? ~witty
  18. Oooh, Social Pollution. That sounds deep. This would be tolerably good if it weren't trying so hard to fit in the context of digital art. Don't you think it'd be cool if you went around your town with a camera and captured what YOU see/feel? Somethings you can explain. Then put it all together, no need for bad brushing or filters or anything, just put them together in the way that best carries your message; collage, painting, framed photos, anything, ... then submit it. Right now it looks like crap. It looks like it means something, which I find awesome, because most of the art on this forum is just eye candy (mine included, I guess) but it doesn't say the meaning. ~witty
  19. I disagree, I think the shading took MORE effort and time in this pic. It's a technique in itself, and I don't think the shaded areas were done so by accident. The final effect is very cool. Not realistic, but very cool. The drawing itself is alright, the cloth lines in the pants are distracting. ~witty
  20. Almost everything looks anatomically incorrect or impossible. I suggest you get someone to stand still for you and draw from the model. Or sketch from photos, magazines, whatever to get the basic idea of the body. Your technique's not too bad. ~witty
  21. It's a bloody shock that the Corel people haven't hired you to advertise for them. Or have they :? ~witty
  22. If you must know, it is stupefied, fainted, whatever. That's why there's such a rough colour/texture in the hand, the owner of the hand is shown as dirty and unworthy. Something as pure as a fairy is being molested by a curious woodsman. The whole theme is really confusing, and not well executed, but as I said on DA, I had a two hour break at school and decided to draw something, remembered your post, and so grabbed a sheet from a recycling bin. I'll try, Can't really change my style, can I? I'd certainly like to, though. No, I'm not gonna paint it, I don't have photoshop anymore. Can't be bothered to find it and install, at least not for now. I know what you mean about the outfit, and you're completely right. I should have thought of that. But it's a sketch, I'm not gonna be editing it or anything. Oh boy, I have a four hour break tomorrow, wonder what'll happen then. ~witty
