  1. Sorry I remember; I confused you with the guy called "Oldmanschild" that had a character of some sort with the number 6 at the end of the name. 8) Either way your name is pretty familiar. But you probably remember OMC too. He used to post on the old boards (especially PK'ing) when people like Wargazme, Angel2002 (I wicked I), LKJ, L6vi were still working their way up to the higher levels.
  2. Yeah, but you can tell it from their fairy tales of "party hats were dropped" (they came in crackers, they weren't dropped directly) and "rune was purple" (the only thing rune that was purple was the rune 2 hander and Andrew had the only one, no such thing as purple rune armor) and "I started in 1999 (Came out in Jan. 2001). :) Are you the same guy who around 2002 went to army? You had a level 90 character which you had quit ("Man of Power"? Something like that it was called, sorry if I'm very mistaken). :P Please reply if I'm right, because your name is very familiar from the old tip.it message board from a few years ago. I also remember Mad4you689 from like 2001-2002, 3-iteming. :P I also remember you once explained what your name means, it was something along the lines of your name being Madeline, you didn't know what the "4you" part meant, you added 6 and 8 for fun and you just like the number 9. Correct? 8)
  3. let me say something---cryogenics is for people who have uncurable deseases, not people who are already dead! They live in the hope that they can be brought back to life when the cure for what killed them is finally discovered.
  4. By the way, some people that have died in the 21st century have arranged their bodies to be preserved cryogenically in the hope that they can be brought back to life when the techonogy enables it. If it becomes possible, these people can inform the world if there actually was a heaven or hell after death, and how they came back to the physical body if they claim there was heaven or hell. It would ultimately lead in churches collapsing.
  5. Are the Aliens or God worshipped? If God, how could you worship something of lesser status. In current terms, itÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s like worshipping your countries leader over God; you just donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t do that. Wrong, as long as the people don't have enough knowledge, you can brainwash a whole nation to believe or worship anything you want. Germany (the former commonwealth of Weimar in the 1930's) was led by Hitler, and since he owned all the media and only allowed Nazi stations to operate as information gates for the people, the people started praying to Hitler and worshipping him as a living God. Heck, he could've said that he has a pet bird which everybody needs to worship, he could tell made up stories about how the bird was once a human who did great things, the people would've listened to him. I'm not comparing Hitler to any religion, but in practice they both use/d brainwashing as a technique to get people to be more loyal and to shut up and work. Religion is different though, people nowadays know about Christianity, Islam, etc. just because it's a tradition that has existed for thousands of years. If all the Bible's and Kor'an's were burned and it would've been illegal to talk about religion, there wouldn't be many religious people.
  6. Indeed, the Catholic Church was, and still is, very corrupt. Look at all the heresy: transubstantiation; homosexual priests; women priests; worship of Mary (nothing short of idolatry). To an extent, I can see why some people are apprehensive of Christianity. Christians certainly have done some very unchristian things in the past (just look at the Crusades). I'd say the major distinction between Christianity and other religions (that is evident to a secular audience) is that Christianity, when followed properly, is advantageous to its members and other people. There are some christian homosexual priests and women priests too, why is it a sin? I don't know about worshipping Mary, but I suggest you to read the earlier posts on this thread. 'Sin' is defined by the society. In ancient Greece, it used to be totally normal to be homosexual. Nowadays, since it's a minority group, it's "not accepted". I would bet anything that if homosexuals would represent a large majority of the population (because of the physical impossibility of having so many gender people in the world, for arguement's sake say they're bisexual) churches would accept them because they need followers. Or doesn't God love the people who have different sexual likings? I'm "straight" myself, but people that are homosexual are usually born that way (hormonal unbalances etc.). It is very hard to become a homosexual by your own choice (though for some reason I don't know female persons become homosexuals more often according to research). It seems strange to me that the christian church accepts murder and crime as long as the person will 'accept Jesus in his heart', but normal people that just happen to have different sexual preferences are 'sinners'. Doesn't sound like a loving community representing God, it seems like a hateful community with low self-esteem that need to harass everybody who is different, just like pre-teenagers except that they're adults. The church or the Bible can say anything it wants, but since it's not written by God it can only be assumed to be a book of philosophy written by philosopher's inspired by a God. They used to be rules in the ancient world because the common people couldn't even read back then and they were in common a bit less intelligent, they just worked as farmers all their life and died. Nowadays, there are 1 billion atheists in the world which is 1/6 of all people. I don't wonder why, since the churches are becoming more and more commercial and the church is forgetting the whole point of the religion, which is supposed to be love and caring of other people.
  7. Now you hit on something i can comment on well. I dont feel convicted after doing those things! Feeling convicted is horrible, So why feel that way? All that crap the church gives you is making you fell that way, Its horrible, its destroying peoples spirit and what not. And your saying Catholics are very corrupt and take things wrong? WHo are you to say that?, your as corrupted as all of them, its all a bunch of CRAP, Catholics have a way in there "bible" that is like every other belief out there, Its just some dumb made up crap that they want you to believe, EVERY religion is like that, its all crap made up by some bored guy one day. ALL religion has no solid proof that the things they say are true So dont go telling me catholics are very corruot when your as equally corrupt as them. Its all slavery and brainwash, thats all it is The catholic church used to be very corrupt, it was once possible to give a large amount of money to the catholic church and your sins would be forgiven, doesn't sound right that if you have much money then the 'God will forgive your sins'.
  8. So I can murder you and your family, and I'll gain salvation as long as I believe that Jesus died for my sins? Do you think God really wants that? Now I can finally start living a mafia-drugsmuggler life in a huge mansion ordering poorer people that work for me to kill others without having to worry about the christians telling me I'm bad. I'll just tell them I believe Jesus died for my sins, buying hookers, selling illegal drugs for hundreds of millions, killing people that are after me, laundering money, etc, right? I suppose it would be more fun than the ordinary american life of working for a few thousand bucks a month. Why bother when I can get tens of millions a month, and blame it all on Jesus.
  9. The sons of the first man ever created were building cities and playing musical instraments. If they had that kind of intellect already then they also would have had morals. Only man who has a sprit, has need of moral standards... i'll get back later  It's not possible, unless there used to be a superior race of men billions of years ago before the dinosaurs. There is no evidence to back it up though. No, we didn't evolve directly from apes but from animals similar to them. I can't be bothered to list all the forms of evolutions from the first one to the current one, there are about 15.
  10. We are spiritual beings and they are not. But what is a 'spiritual' being? About 50,000 years ago the human brain wasn't developed enough to grasp the concept of 'ethics' or 'morals', which would mean humans that have evolved into what we are today were just animals who happened to have the perfect gene pool, body structure and hunting methods for this planet so they started to get more intelligent. By that logic only a person who can acknowledge things and grasp abstract concepts such as 'morals', can be 'spiritual' and begin to wonder 'why was I born' instead of living his life by his instincts and then die. So if there is a baby that is born with severe brain malfunctions which disables the baby from thinking rationally, the baby is just an animal for his/her whole life. For example, fishes don't have enough brain processing power to even think about spirituality. Chimps on the other hand can learn to communicate (not through their mouth though) and do almost everything a human can do, but they can't understand what is a 'joke' or what you are doing when you pray to a God. Yet they learn things just like a human child, they will learn what is 'good' and what is 'bad' when raised in a human community.
  11. Explain please. Thats a rather harsh thing to say without support and if you really believe it you know nothing of Christianity. from http://www.hyperdictionary.com/dictionary/tyranny Is that a better explanation? I didnt ask for a definition of tyranny. I asked you to explain your theory that Christian morals are tyranny. Isn't that ultimately what christians tell you? It is, they always keep talking about 'heaven and hell'. If you do 'bad things' or 'sin', you go to hell? Sounds much worse than just punishment and violence to be in an eternal flame and the pain never stops. Most christians become 'satans' themselves, they are too caught up in their teachings that they become cold, senseless creatures that keep telling people what you can do and what you can't (while they are doing 'sin' when nobody can see). I only respect those religious people that aren't racists and don't think other religions/atheists/agnostics/etc are bad, actually do good things to the world and other people, not for money or any other benefit but just because they like to do it. This description doesn't fit any christian person I've met. Funny enough, it seems to me that the people without a religion seem to follow the teachings of Jesus better than christian people, and they don't even notice it. If you don't count the fact that religion was a way to govern people who couldn't even read back a few thousand years ago, the ultimate meaning of religion and the teachings of the prophets is to make people better and non-self-centered. Think you were the God: Would you actually give a crap if there would be a bunch of people going to your church and praising you everyday and telling everybody how good you are, but the next moment you see them beating up their wives, stealing, doing unethical things, etc. That's my point. If there is a starving person wearing rags on the street and you say 'God bless you', does it help the person? He will probably die in a few days because nobody helped him. If you'd actually stop, possibly try to arrange him at least a few bucks for food or clothes, you'd do what is the point of the whole religion instead of just saying words that don't mean anything.
  12. Lol 8) That made me want to dig up my old text file with quotes from Bush. I'll post them up in a few minutes.
  13. Awesome, that's exactly how I think. Good to see I'm not the only person to think that God isn't a barbaric cave-man that is angry if you don't please him and you'll be sent in a lake of fire if you don't. That being the highest form of intelligence in the whole universum? Umm, yeah..
  14. *shrug* I can't believe that there are NO old players left on these forums that actually know what the "underground farm" was, you're all calling Fook a scammer and that it actually existed, somebody took screenshots of it... How about no. It was a thing made by Fook just for fun, and even though he probably got a few sapphires the people probably weren't very upset. I know this doesn't contribute to the humor of this joke (for the sake of my old friend fook 8)) but the farm never existed, it was just a plot to see how gullible people are... Like the people that post on this thread. It's amazing how people can take something like this seriously even after years have passed after it was originally invented by Fook (and Paul Gower got the idea for the underground city of Zanaris from Fook so you can thank Fook A Ji for your dragon sword). Just goes to prove the old saying "it's not a good idea to ban all the stupid users, because then 95% of the users would be gone".
  15. Zonghui, for both hitpoints and prayer. He was #1 prayer for almost a year and #1 hitpoints for almost the same amount of time. Though, he quit a long long time ago because he had to go to the army, but he has checked out RS2 though (or then he gave his character away).
  16. I know they gave you lifetime membership to say this. Duh, you're one of the reasons why the dragon sword is in the game. So just accept the thousands of people bowing to you :o. StyIes, omg lol noob lmao rofl u dunno wats teh underground farm u late starting newb lolo
  17. I am agnostic, but I have morals. What makes your morals more right than a Nazi's, for example? I have no intentions of killing anything or anybody unless I'm going to eat it (or if it tries to kill me). I also believe I'm not a bad person for eating animals because all other carnivore animals need to do that to survive as well. Humans are animals as well, just with more developed brains.
  18. LOL Can be also applied to just about any other game.
  19. Yeah, but that's because you're a viking. That doesn't count since you've got Valhalla.
  20. I'll defend anybody's life at the threat of my own life, I'm fortunate to be big enough (not fat) so that I have the capacity to do so. I believe that if I know I or somebody else will die then they/I will die fighting. I value every persons life as much as my brothers, fathers or mothers life as long as they aren't criminals or ethically corrupt people and yes I'd defend them with my life. I already do it almost every week (though rarely somebody points a weapon at me) when I help people that are getting mugged which sadly happens too often in Detroit. Anybody who would run away and let somebody die is sick in the mind in my opinion. But for a religion or my country, no. I don't believe in that. I'm not going to participate in something started by a psycho (a war or a crusade though crusades don't happen nowadays). Religion is not something to accept with blood.
  21. You can't prove they don't have the permission from their parents, which allows them to use these boards even though they are under 13 years old. 8) *Points at terms and conditions upon registering*
  22. I say if you're a fighter train in the wilderness. I realized that years ago when I still played runescape when the first signs of overpopulation started popping up. I've never had a problem training in the wilderness (other than getting attacked sometimes, but that's a fun extra) and it's also much faster and rewarding than training outside of it. If you're scared of losing items then just go with 4 items so you can use the protect item prayer (though PK'ers hate 4 item people more than ones with full armor) but I recommend going with all items. During my training from level 55 to 104 in the wilderness I've died a grand total of 1 times and I always wore the best equipment available at each time. Trust me, if you know what you're doing you're better off with good equipment than with 3 or 4 items.
  23. I'm 25, my birthday is 3th February 1979 8) When I started playing runescape, I was 22. I quit a long time ago at level 104 though.
  24. Well, it doesn't matter that much but it's nice looking at the post count number every now and then and say "that's a lot of time spent here". I had about 6500 spam-free posts at like rank top5 (not that it matters that much, but at least I didn't spam). Now I have like under 100 posts... I guess that's because I just post regularly and I started using scapeboard a long time ago. So I'd say 50-50, it's not necessary but it is a very fun thing. Though, I miss the old database because it had posts dating back to even 2002 summer (when I still used to play rs) and it had the domain old.scapeboard.com which was from very early 2002 when I signed up. It also had some posts from people that will never come to runescape again (or have even died, SIW39 etc.- rest in peace) and from some old legends, PK'ing legends, smithing legends, famous merchants, so many things that would be nice to see again.

    Ghosts...

Yeah, but science is not something to believe in, it's something you can prove with your own eyes. If you don't believe than x-chromozome can mutate into y-chromozome and create protein the scientists can show it to you so unless you don't believe your eyes it's true, a priest can't show you a God or an Angel if you ask him to give you solid proof. They don't go around disproving everything everybody says, they have proof to back it up just like there is proof that the earth is not flat like the bible says. The scientists weren't running around and disproving everybody, they simply had facts back then. Not to mention, if you don't 'believe' in science, then you don't believe that you just wrote a message created by science, you watch tv, you brush your teeth, you have a freezer, a toilet, a shower system, a tap, a car or pretty much anything that you use daily.
