  1. I searched all the bookcases in the MoM's house and got 3 books, but I dunno if they're related to this event or were there from before.
  2. Oh yeah, I forgot about shooting stars. That would be a pretty nice distraction
  3. I'm trying to level mining as efficiently as possible from 76 to 77 (or possibly 80 or 85) so I can access concentrated coal, gold, or runite, respectively; I've even sold a fair bit of my stuff so I could get a dragon pick. I've read that iron is usually considered the ore of choice for powermining, although granite is popular as well. If I have Varrock 3 armor, what is the better thing to mine for xp?
  4. Ohh, okay, that makes a lot more sense. Duh. Thanks for the swift reply! :)
  5. I've heard people recommend using Guthan's set while doing slayer (if appropriate), because of the lifestealing bonus it gives, which means fewer trips to the bank for food and more time slaying. My current gear includes use of a slayer helm, rune defender, whip, and torag's body/legs (since it has slightly higher defence, if I recall). I don't think I should trade the whip or black mask's huge power bonuses for some life drain, but that's why I'm asking you guys. Any idea?
  6. Well, my assumptions might be a little off (it's been a while), but at worst, it's a nice way to spend 20 minutes or so, and you can make up for it with the double experience. It really helps break the monotony of the mining guild, or cutting endless amounts of yews.
  7. Now, from my observations, playing Stealing Creation is a waste of time. It's been a while since I played RS, so I forgot most of the specifics, but, I remember reasoning that if it takes 20 minutes to win a game, that's 20 minutes you're not skilling. The double experience you get negates the 0 experience you got from not skilling. However, this is assuming your tool lasts longer than 20 minutes (the game's length) and you get fractionally more than 1 tool per game (ie, you can afford 5 tools after 4 games).
  8. Once thing I like to do every now and then, is run a program called XPadder. It's a 3rd party program, so I will not be giving a link out to it, but, it lets a USB game controller emulate keyboard and mouse clicks. So, with it, you can basically play the game on a standard controller. You could set the analog sticks on one to act as the mouse and arrow keys, to move the mouse and camera, while the shoulder buttons control left or right clicks, or however else you choose to set it up.
  9. I'm only marginally stronger than you are, and I'm able to down steels for profit when I'm doing slayer. You can kill them with a lot of expensive gear, or on a budget. This is my melee setup: Head: Slayer Helm / Black Mask - This is almost a necessity. What is it, +10% more attack to your slayer targets? That's like having an attack potion on at all times. Body: Proselyte Chest - Easy to get, and a good prayer boost. Legs: Proselyte Legs - Same as above. Neck: Glory / Fury - Both increase your damage output. Either is good. Ring: Any - Doesn't really matter, but I like to bring a wealth, just in case something special drops. :) Wrist: Dragon Slayer Gloves / Combat Bracelet - If you can stand doing Fist of Guthix, get the gloves, since they add another percentage boost to your attack and strength, I believe. Else, combat braclet, since the stats are good, plus it tracks your slayer task. Weapon: The best 1h weapon you can afford. For most people tihs should be the whip or Dragon Scimitar. Offhand: Anti-Dragonfire Shield - This is a MUST. You WILL die unless you have this. Inventory: 1x Food (I like to use shark) 2-3x Antifire Potion(4) (To completely negate breath damage, with the shield) 3x Prayer Potion(4) (to increase the time you are immune to their melee damage) 1x Hatchet (to get there) 905x gold (30 to get from Ardougne, and 875 to enter dungeon) The way I turn a profit from this is to bring a Terrorbird with me for an extra 12 slots, and pick up every bar and bones they drop. Avoid the throwing weapons if you can, since they generally sell poorly. Leave shortly after your inventory is full. I know you're not hunting them for profit, but you can still try to minimize your losses by fighting smart. :) Seriously, once you have protect from melee on, a shield, and anti pot up, you can roll your face on the keyboard until it dies, or you need to refresh your resistance or prayer. Killing them is super-easy once you get the hang of it.
  10. 1.) General - First slot is money, then whatever food I use the most (currently sharks), followed by random deposits. 2.) Runes & Magic - Rune essence, followed by an assortment of runes, then staves. RC pouches are at the end. 3.) Teleporting Items - Anything that lets me teleport around. Tablets, enchanted lyre, rings of duelling, etc. 4.) Tools - Tinderboxes, crafting moulds, fishing poles, thread, needles, slayer gems, etc. 5.) Costumes - Just a placeholder tab for random costumes until I can get most of them in my house. :P 6.) Gems and Ores - Cut and uncut gems, as well as ores and bars. Rings of forging are also present. 7.) Potions and Herbs - Any herbalism supplies and ingredients go in here. Also, some herb seeds, specifically Kwuarm. 8.) Combat Stuff - Any equipment I might need to use in combat. Swords, armor, etc. 9.) Blank Hope that helps. :)
  11. This. Personally, I just got my helm and have yet to block anything, but it sure won't be Irons or Steels. Yes, they're slow xp and drain cash, but if you don't kill them, there's no chance a visage will drop. ;)
  12. A basic example in PHP would be: *snip* If you were to be crawling the entire G.E. database then I would highly recommend using multi-threaded cURL, to greatly reduce latency and speed. You have already contacted me about my PHP Crawler code which uses this method. Yes, that is correct. And that PHP code should be a great help on how to work with cURL. :)
  13. That simple, huh? Well, I'm sure it's a lot more involved than that, but it's a good point in the right direction. Thanks for the help, then. :)
  14. Oops, didn't even notice that forum. :wall: Feel free to move/delete/close this.
