  1. Both your Ranged level and Defense level, as well as your equipment bonuses contribute to your overall Ranged defense.

Both your Magic level and Defense level, as well as your equipment bonuses contribute to your overall Magic defense.

If that's not what you're asking, please state the question more clearly...

  2. You typically range there using Diamond Bolts (E). That brings it down to a question of +8 Range attack bonus or +20 Range defense bonus.

In light of Spirit Shields being a hell of a lot cheaper, though...

Yeah but price is not a problem.

If price isn't a problem just get a Divine or Elysian Spirit Shield, or a Dragonfire Shield for that matter. Why choose between the normal Spirit Shield or Toktz-Ket-Xil if you have enough money for the best stuff?

Blessed spirit shield is the alternative, not Spirit shield. Go for Obsidian if those are the only two choices.

It quite clearly says "Spirit Shield", not "Blessed Spirit Shield"...

  3. 1. Is the melee void knight set worth it? yes

    2. What are all the good uses for it? waterfeinds, genral non-slay trainning

    3. How long would it take to get? 4-8 hours with good team on 100+ boat

    4. Which parts do I get? Top, Robe, and Helm, but do I need the Gloves, and Seal? dont need seal, need gloves

Is Void better for Waterfiends than Karil's?

  4. You could compromise and train both by burning Vyrewatch, although this is considerably slower than focusing on either. However, you can get god pages from vyre-burning which last I checked were in high demand and could be sold with a lot of junk.

Otherwise I'd agree with most others here:

    1) 68 Summoning

    2) 70 Prayer

    3) Forget about Firemaking...

  5. Note: I'm not relating the subjects in the title; I've got separate questions on all of them.

    • Which pet shop sells greyhounds that are actually grey and retrievers that are actually gold/yellow?

Further to the previous, what species of dog has a blue variant?

What familiar should be used for training Summoning (running back and forth between the altar and bank)?

Should I make them myself or buy them?

Would it be possibly to max Summoning by training from 96 to 99 combat stats using controlled on Waterfiends?

Do Waterfiends have any drops that are considered 'junk'?

If no to maxing Summoning with melee stats, what about additionally getting 99 Ranged?

What monsters are good for ranging that drop charms besides Black Demons?

Is there a viable Magic training method for getting charms that isn't as cost ineffective as Rock Lobsters?

What should I train on prior to 96 Strength and Defense besides creatures at Ape Atoll or Slayer?

How long would 99 Agility take using the Ape Atoll course the entire time?

What is a quick way to collect junk? - A way that collects junk faster than you could make cash in the same amount of time.

Thank you for answers that you may provide.

  6. I am a lvl 100 f2p that has never been mem. I have a different opinion of the combat triangle. I believe Ranged to be first (which I extremely despise), Melee to be second and Mage to be far behind and dead last. Ranged is overpowered accordign to me. As proof: there is a vid on youtube of a guy hitting 45-46 with descent of dragons in bh ON A MELEE! How often do you see melees hitting 70+ on rangers? NEVER! And mages? well, being the first targets of melee, having robes that dont protect at all and having rangers always after them (because the Triangle of Combat correctly predicts mages get pwned by rangers), they never have a serious chance. My analysis is: Rangers are seriously overpowered, Melees are weak to rangers, and Mages are abysmally underpowered. My solution? Better mage robes, better Melee resistance to Range, and no cap on the max hit of mages. Otherwise the stats of all ranged weapons need to go down.

PS: Never say the truth rangers dont have the courage to fight up close, cuz it can get you muted. Trust me. I learnt it the hard way.

Although you're mostly correct about what you said, videos on YouTube tend to be there because they are high or amazing hits, so results may not be typical. I have personally never been hit higher than 30-30 by someone with a Dark Bow and a Dragon Dagger can easily do that normally in the right hands. Perhaps it could suffice to say that melee and Ranged are overpowered rather than Magic being underpowered, although mages certainly need armored robes better than Ahrim's.

  7. Umm..i dunno if this has been mentioned.. Back in Rsc, u can melee/range plus cast magic, hence double hitting.

Umm.. Mages need to wear mage bonus armour or their spells splash, rangers just need a bow and they are good to go.

I'm not sure all of the updates mentioned in the article are in the right order or at the right time.

I never played classic and the only info I know on it is what I read in random sources like this so thank you for that bit...

Let's see all of the more notable additions I can remember that you probably could/should've gone into more detail about (although by no means in order)...

    • Crossbow.gif update #2 (enchanted bolts, etc) Dragon_bolts(e).gif hitting very high...

Bone_bolts.gif and Dorgeshuun_cbow.gif included therein, extremely cheap and effective for most ends.

Broad-tipped_bolts.gif, fairly cheap with frequent high hits through tough armor.

Dark_Bow.gif and Dragon_arrow.gif, with their insane KO ability.

Void_knight_top.gifVoid_knight_robe.gifVoid_knight_gloves.gif with the Void_Knight_Helm_-Ranged-.gif is probably the most useful of the three sets.

Karils_coif.gifKarils_leathertop.gifKarils_leatherskirt.gif, but more notably the fast and high hitting Karils_crossbow.gif.

New_crystal_bow.gif, with its long range and reliable hits it sits inbetween the Rune_cbow.gif and everything else.

Cannon_base.gifCannon_stand.gifCannon_barrels.gifCannon_furnace.gif and Chinchompa.gifRed_chinchompa.gif make logo_ranged.gif the fastest combat skill to train.

Morrigans_javelin.gif and Morrigans_throwing_axe.gif both have the KO ability of the fabled Armadyl_godsword.gif...

Aside from just items, logo_ranged.gif is the best way to reach and defeat TzTok-Jad.gif.

    u forgot Darts and Knives

I don't remember those ever being updated?

Ugh, I did forget Avas_accumulator.gif though...

  8. Without skillcapes skills would actually be trained for use rather than capes, as they were intended to be, as well as many of the skills actually making money instead of just losing it.

Luckily for me, Agility, which is my eventual 99, is useful for everything and has an awesome skillcape, which is a bonus, just as it was meant to be.

  10.

Protect from melee is 40% protection from player attacks - an often overlooked statement, which really confused me at first when I was speccing 40s on people with pro melee. Piety is +25% to defence, assumed to be your defence level - steel titan is +15% to your stab slash and crush, assumed to be your armor bonuses. All 3 + the -30% damage spirit shield = 70% damage reduction, +40% to slash defence. Doing that in a tank outfit has GOT to be fun, I'm going to test it someday at 99 summoning in fight pits. Sounds like a blast, you would be VERY rarely hit, and only getting hit for 30% of the normal damage making ags specs max at 23, with very little chance of landing

If you're rich enough for that you might as well use the PvP armor too...

There's a difference between paying 100m for a shield that gives you unlimited use in many situations and many hundreds of hours of protection unmatched by any other armor vs. paying 15m for armor that breaks in an hour and isn't much better then barrows. It would be cool, though... If I ever get THAT much free cash I'll try it someday \'

It's assumed that if you would pay that much for the shield and 99 Summoning that you'd have a lot of free cash to throw around...

  12. 50% from players, 100% from monsters. This is for overall defense, I assume.

Steel titan's and Piety (which stack) also applies to overall defense, or so I assume.

"Defence boost (15% bonus to your stab, slash and crush Defence) - invisible"

Seems like the KB is just saying that it's 15% to melee Defense...? But Piety is 25% to all three? So is the Steel Titan effecting your Defense level or your stat bonuses?

  13. As soon as you get a 99 any cape you have is automatically trimmed, even if it's on the ground. Why else is untrimmed 99 hp so impressive?

Off topic, but I've been wondering this...What exactly makes untrimmed HP "impressive?" I'll probably end up getting 99 HP first whether I want to or not...and I'm guessing that it's the same for most people who don't care about training skills past their levels of usefulness just for the capes.

Exact same situation here, Hitpoints being my highest skill at 98... 490k xp.

  14. As soon as you get a 99 any cape you have is automatically trimmed, even if it's on the ground. Why else is untrimmed 99 hp so impressive?

I have personally witnessed a friend who had Attack_cape(t).gif and Strength_cape.gif and this is how my friend said he got did it.

It is not possible anymore. Sorry.

That's a shame, but thank you.
