TIF used to have a thread like this for talking about 3rd age and rares, thought it should be started up again in the theme of the item discussion thread on rsof. How do people think the combat update will effect nex sets/spirit shields? Something also interested in trying to find out with this thread is how rare exactly are crackers, it seems less than 20 are active after some research and asking high level merchants. What is the rarest rare, will we ever see a situation like on rsc were a cracker is now worth 4-5 phat sets. Will fish mask stay above its alch value after the inevitable crash as people sell after it becomes discounted after hoarding for said event? Are all rares low values sustainable with so much gp in the game, what would the effect be for example in nerfing spirit shards causing people to have to put their huge amounts of gp into rares/high items. (Spirit shards IMO are the biggest thing damaging the rares market and keeping it depressed) also- This doesn't belong in beta discussion mods, as it is only about items and not just items in beta, a very general thread.

at first I kind of liked the update, as I have played it more decided I am against it. Hate the fact that armour no longer has slash/stab/crush defence, so items like stat hammers or cmauls suck a lot more. Also no more att/def switching for staking :thumbdown:

is style switching completely dead? has anyone tested if you hit higher when getting str xp for example. Also in pvp does crush/stab/slash not matter at all...? Kind of lame if both of these things removed, and will kill staking :(. Also duel arena completely broken in beta, other people's attacks can damage you.

Spec restores are really useful, restore adr bar to like half, letting your use thresholds straight away.

making good use of the beta. Sadly no, I do not have that many hats, I have a cracker + white/blue, dropped + reset acc and logged back in and picked em up + used cracker on people.

Meh will try playing on beta again later this week when might not be so laggy. One thing I noticed that I hope is a bug, everywhere seems to be multicombat, could 2v1 people in wildy.
