I started wearing my 3a while I was alching, now that I'm done I just kept it on. Lightweight, and looks pretty good. I voted most expensive :

The cheepest way is to alch, its costing me about a mill to 99, lol. There still are a few things you can break even on. D'hide green bodies you can buy for min, but those are slow to buy. There are more... (my apologies, but I cant give away all my secrets :-# ) I've found alching to be faster (and cheeper) to 99. At 83 mage w/ full ahrims, fury, casting fire wave, ect; I got around 55-60k exp/hr at metals. With alch, you can get 70k per/hr.
