The Slayers drags on for quite a while. IIRC, it has about 100 episodes. It's good, but I'd go for Cowboy Bebop. Should I read the HnK manga or just watch the anime? Both the manga and anime are great, but the anime starts off a little slow and doesn't follow the source material completely. i.e. In the manga Jackal attempted to kill Kenshiro after Kenshiro killed Shin, but in the anime Jackal was enlisted by Shin to kill Kenshiro.
