  1. I live just outside central london. Praying it'll be an outdoor event, in the August sunshine. That'd be awesome. But unlikely. Registered and will go if its not too steep. Oh, and I'm 19, but I couldnt care less about the age of the other attendees. Some of you seem to need to stop stereotyping...
  2. Nice quad. I have found that trying to train dungeoneering with others can be so frustrating unless you are all online all of the time, because of the whole prestige issue. Unless you literally only play when you are all on together, the xp gained is going to be at a fairly inefficient rate.
  3. That would be crap if they did, because that would include me if I had been playing at the time, because I regularly sell everything at the end of a dungeon and load up on ess. You have to click ok for every level. Anyone who gained more than 1 level knew what was happening. Well, to be fair, I was on my ranger pure. I started to craft fire runes, at level 35. After the first 10 ess I got a level 40 congrats message ;D Im sure if there hadnt been a rollback i might have been scrutinised closely, for gaining 5 levels....ridiculous how it was achieved with just 10 ess. And yes, once i got the level up message i obviously clicked away and stopped. Unlike all these lying [bleep]s who just kept clicking *click here to continue*
  4. The football and ballet can become your career though. So that would be why they're not considered addictions. And yeah, people who watch too much TV are TV addicts... Runescape can be an addiction - most of what was said in the article I completely agree with...
  5. Fair enough. Not trying to accuse anyone personally, but it really can be like a school playground on these forums, and I do feel for the poor guys who are asking genuine questions or w/e, and get mocked as a result... OT: Also with a staking backround, I had no reason to believe that defense level helped out at all against magic. I also do not trust developers implicitly. For example, (and I know they are completely different genres) in Cod 4, 5 and 6 the gun stats, as charted by the developers are entirely wrong. Not saying Jagex are lying to us, I just don't rule out the possibility of errors.
  6. Don't mean to be rude or anything, but what is your source for this? I've seen this said before (along with similar things like the 20:80 ratio mentioned below your post) but only ever on these forums. I've seen it on Rune wiki too but they don't give a source. Back before trade limits I was a mage staker and fought thousands of opponents... Several of which were 99 in all combat stats, and several were 1 defence but 99 mage. Regardless of their defence level, I'd always have the same accuracy against them. Sometimes I'd kill people w/ 1 defence with four casts, sometimes I'd kill maxed players with four casts. Sometimes I'd splash every spell against someone with 1 defence till they killed me, sometimes I'd splash every spell against a maxed person till they killed me. My opponents' defence levels offered no significant additional protection. Only their magic level and equipment mattered. Also, I'd sometimes do mage vs melee stakes-- in which case I'd only fight people with lvl 85 magic or lower. Several of my opponents were maxed melees but with only like lvl 80 magic... As long as they were below about 85 magic, it was pretty much guaranteed that I'd win. Furthermore, I beat them with 4 casts pretty consistently. Of course your anecdotal evidence from observations several years in the past is much more trustworthy than a direct quote from the developer... He's not forcing you to agree with him, he's just stating his opinion on the matter, which he has every right to believe is true... I don't post here much, mainly because of all the little cliques there are going on.
  7. Shooting stars were a fantastic update (although I forget exactly when they were implemented)
  8. Because he has fantasies involving mining, in which you have to concentrate nearly 100% of the time - and therefore expects the same of everyone else. I agree with Bauke
  9. You can really tell xxxgod is an rs2 product. I wouldn't mind a function that bans xxxgod whenever he goes into a doomsaying rant. lol? look at my mining level (and my rc level). now compare mine to yours. Wow. Such a well thought out, insightful and intelligent rebuttle there by xxxgod. Now to stop this being spam, topic. I don't imagine it will chance things too much other than just making a few people's fingers hurt a little less which is good for everyone right? :) [/hide] ok, if you want an intelligent response: havent people always been complaining about how if they made a "pray-X" then the prayer cape would become nooby? then why all of a sudden people praise the change right off the bat? i mean, i know that in the future people will grow to accept the change and see the benefits, but what happened to everyone saying "oh, prayer-X will be soooo nooby" or "jagex is a bunch of noobs if they think they can make a pray-X"...wheres the flare over the discussion of all the "(skill)-X" options? A couple of points here, but first I want to address an issue I've had for a little while now. Why is it that in what seems to be 99.99% of your posts on this forum, you make references to how tough mining is, and how you are so incredible at it...get over yourself? My primary account has 89 mining, and to be honest with you it was not hard whatsoever. There are thousands of people with better mining than me, and, like me, a lot of them got it passively. With 50k+ xp/hour it really is not slow at all. And if you choose other method theres a large profit incentive. So yes - please stop making reference to your "godly" ability to do what thousands have done before you. Rant aside - in reference to your point regarding people complaining about "pray-x" and saying it should never be released... well, now it has been released and theres plenty of posts on this thread and the other from users who are rather annoyed at this update. However, theres plenty of people who do not think that semi afkable 250kxp/hour is a bad thing. And anyway, people are perfectly within their own right to change their mind over something. For example - I think Sailing would not be a good skill to implement into the game. However, if it were to be released, and the content was incredible, blowing my mind...I would be more than willing to admit that I was wrong about the idea, and that Sailing has in fact become a great skill.
  10. Exactly. Getting 99 pray is still incredibly easy. I got 99 prayer the umm.. old way.. and my wrists were fine. Some people that also have 99 didn't have any bother. Prayer's dumbed down, now. Afk skills are stupid. I'm rather dissapointed, as it has ruined things in a way. You go to an altar and you see everyone saying how great it is, give them a few hours and they'll find their getting a lot less exp now than before. One reason I take such a relaxed approach with training is because I have had issues with CTS in the past, even though I have a good mouse and cushioned mousemat. Im sure Jagex is at least partly implementing this semi afk method into a lot of skills in an attempt to cut down on the number of complaints from people/peoples parents about the game being a potential health hazard (as stupid as it sounds) If it's a health hazard for one to play an Online game, they shouldn't be playing it. Simple as that, and complaining about their child, (who obviously plays to much if it's come to this), to Jagex is just complete stupidity. It seems you don't know a lot about CTS. It is not so much about the time spent performing the action (referring to your statement "who obviously plays too much if it's come to this"), but more so down to the persons posture and mousemat, and the height of their desk chair in relation to the desk. And anyway, why should a parent complaining about their childs health be "stupidity." You confuse me.

  12. And before the update you could be getting 450k + exp per hour.. I have always heard that mousekey methods made prayer training a lot faster - however, I never delved into that "mystery" and I have never been the kind of person who likes to concentrate fully on one thing for a long period of time (when training Cons without SC hammers I tend to only get 200k/hour rather than the more than possible 250k+), so If I can get over 200k/hour without having to do much whatsoever, I am not going to complain. But I can see why some people might.
  13. Quite pleased I already had 99 banked. Since the update I am getting 240k+ xp/hour, without paying much attention, and using a tort.
