  1. I did that after dying (twice) during Desert Treasure.... (I foolishly tried to melee Dessous and Damis' second form) I've psyched myself out of doing contact for a while its true! I'll give it a try.
  2. Yay, just finished Mourning's End Part 1 and now 265 qp!! I've heard that ME P2 is really hard? Any advice guys?
  3. That would still create paradoxes... Something along the lines of going back and accidentally killing someone who gave you the idea of going back in the first place, so you don't go back, so you didn't kill them, so you do get the idea so you do go back etc etc etc. Backward time travel is very likely to be impossible! You could be able to use it to create a perpetual motion machine (a machine that you can use to power something, but that doesn't require any energy to run). Perpetual motion machines violate the second law of thermodynamics. If you want an example of the second law of thermodynamics: Imagine you have a pot of white paint, and squirt some red paint into it. Now you stir it it clockwise 4 times, it will turn pink. If you stir it anticlockwise 4 times, you will never get your splodge of red paint back, you cannot un-mix the colours. If fact you will never undo the mixing, whichever way you try to un-stir it, even if you're very precise.
  4. Yes I know, my range is crap :P But is that what it is?
  5. Sorry for being so noobish but what exactly is a "Range Pure"? Is it someone whose combat level consists only of their range ability? Why would anyone want to do that....?
  6. I had to double check that, I made an error is exactly what I said (but edited it) But yes as a one liner, more gravity, slower time goes.
  7. I'll try: In General Relativity (GR), acceleration and the effect of gravity are identical concepts. In fact in GR, the force of gravity is a "myth", and its all the geometry of spacetime that causes acceleration that we feel as gravity. So back to black holes, black holes are areas of extreme gravity, and by the same principle extreme acceleration areas. The geometry of such a region is very distorted. Now near the black hole the space part of spacetime stretches (think of water down a plug-hole or a heavy object on a rubber sheet), andthe time part of the spacetime stretches. You travel (litreally) through a region where time is stretched (compared to the outside world) and so time elapses much more slowly in this region, and when you leave it, time contracts back to normal (and so passes at the familiar rate), and you have jumped into the future. This also means that your feet are younger than your head, time passes more slowly for your feet (compared to your head).
  8. You don't need to finish Fairy Tale part 2 to keep get the secatures. Farming and Herblore work well togther, make potions that people buy, attack, prayer, strengh etc. My Arm's Big adventure gets you a disease free herb patch.
  9. I have a degree in Theoretical Physics, and I'd like to add to this: Prograde (ie: forward) time-travel (TT) is perfectly possible, not only possible but necessary: (as someone has already pointed out) we are all doing it right now. To get ahead of everyone else however, requires either passing through an extreme gravitational field (near a black hole for example) OR travelling very very fast. For a noticeable "jump" into the future, this speed has to be very close to the speed of light. But the principle holds for any increased speed, and in fact has been proved. Scientists synchronized two atomic clocks (extremely accurate clocks) and put one on a Concorde from London to New York (back when they still had Concorde, at least I think it was Concorde, it may have been another plane). When they compared the clocks after the flight, the one left in London had recorded (ever so slightly) more time than the one on the plane. So the one on the plane had jumped ever so slightly into the future. (I'm talking miniscule fractions of a second here). To get anything a human would notice would require sizeable fractions of light speed. Retrograde (ie: backward) TT is not strictly forbidden by physics. Any such attempts however require exotic (not yet observed, and extremely unlikely) ideas, such as negative or infinite energy. Or wiggling one end of a wormhole near a very strong gravitational source (not to mention that making a wormhole in the first place requires negative energy!). One common thing that arises from most of these ideas, is that you cannot go back further than the time of creation of the machine you are using to perform your retrograde TT. So if I built a retrograde TT machine today, I could not use it to go back to before today... which defeats the point really, but it prevents some paradox issues. My personal opinion is that retrograde TT is impossible, because you can always conceive of paradoxes. I feel that the universe must have some natural "paradox filter" built into its laws, but that's just an intuition.
  10. Farming Kwuarm and then selling Super strength pots... Very lucrative... :D And before that it was avantoe super attack, before that strength potions and prayer potions...
  11. LOL! Well it probably will turn into that! I've still got 19 more quest points to go ;)
  12. YAY I did it :D :D Thanks guys for the help :)
  13. LOL, I know I beat her!! :D Culinoromancer left... :D
  14. I did it! Still a tough cookie, but I managed... got dessourt too. Gelatinnoth mother.... help?
  15. Wow, did you melee it? Which is best (out of melee and mage, I can't range lol)
  16. I'll forever be using restores, and never get an attack in edge-ways?
  17. I just tried to fight Karamel, I barely managed to get one attack it before it reduced my stats (I was trying to fire-mage it). Any suggestions on how to beat this tough cookie?
  18. Hey guys, simple question: Does a ring of wealth have any effect on thieving rewards?
  19. The reason why metric is better is simple: Composite quantities. Not all Imperial measuring systems have the same base, for example length and mass. So if you want to calculate something like pressure (technically the mass equivalent), you can't simply divide one by the other, you need to convert you length (most likely into inches) and convert your weight (most likely into pounds) before you can calculate the psi pressure. (pounds per square inch) With metric however, it doesn't matter what size, say tonnes (1000 kg) and an area in cm squared (100cm = 1m, so 100 squared cm squared = 1 m squared, ie: 100000 cm sq = 1m sq). The point is you can divide one by the other immediately and worry about the powers of 10 later....
  20. Hey guys! I currently have a 260 quest points (yay! :D ), I was wondering if there is a 'best order' for me to do the ones that are left.... My stats are in my signature. (I'm well aware that some of them need beefing up! ) The quests I have left are: Back To My Roots Contact! Dealing With Scarabas Devious Minds Grim Tales Legacy Of Seergaze Mourning's End 1 & 2 Recipie For Disaster: Awowegei and final fight Rocking Out Summer's End And the biggie: While Guthix Sleeps.
  21. "Who keeps the metric system down? We do, we dooo!" - Stonecutters lol
  22. This might not be a tech problem. Some keyboards have these little keys working on sort of suction cups and sometimes they get stuck. Try pressing and wiggling. If that doesn't work, try pressing quite hard, and releasing slowly, if that still doesn't work, try releasing quickly. And if all of those don't work, it IS a tech problem. lol
  23. Oh, I've crafted at ZMI already. I knew that was one (rather crappy!) way of crafting soul runes. What I was looking for in particular was a direct way of crafting soul runes? From that answer I'm guessing there isn't :(
