I've never used altars before. Where do I even begin?

Only way to die = pray running out. I'm debating on whether to get 70 prayer or not. The total cost would be around 4.4M. I'd have to sell my fury back just to afford it. Thoughts?

So I just bought a fury and a set of dragon boots. Is there a better helmet to get? With the fury, it makes it so if I die I'll lose my fire cape.. I'm using protect item at all times now. :oops:
