I agree with that. If they did create any sort of gambling area, which is risky, they oughta make their own unique games. lpinkus

A Bank to sell items ?
That's we are to assume (crossing fingers?). lpinkus

Phat prices
Exactly :) I could see if they were sombreros, but paper hats? We all know you can make a paper hat pretty easy. A little paper, tape, a pair of scissors...voila. OK, that was facecious. But please, let the rare thing go. If you don't want to buy one or sell one, FORGET ABOUT THEM. Sorry to give a personal testament, but... I am by no means a rich player, but I did finally amass 5.5 mil a day ago. So, I said my last goodbyes to more than half my gp and bought a whip. It's really fun, by the way, surely worth it. Really, what good was that gp doing sitting in my bank unless I had tried to merchant with it? Anyway, back to the point. I saved that money by selling drops, alching, and thieving. That's it. It took me several years. I don't know if "proud" is the right word, so lets say I'm delighted that I earned it all myself without using the rare market. I have no problem with said market, but I also didn't want to participate in it. So, despite what you think, you can live without rares. Yes, they affect the overall market, but it's really not a problem right now. If it ever was, JAGeX would so something about it. Lpinkus

Phat prices
Please don't go there :) Maybe he himself is jealous, but a lot of people really just don't care about them. Not that I think they should be discarded/made untradeable-There simply isn't a good solution at the moment. Ignorance is bliss. I told myself I wasn't gonna look at this topic, but I did anyways :) Lpinkus

should no more radom events in wild
I disagree. Random events are not only for stopping autoers, they also provide a curious interlude to constant training. What happend to you is just bad luck. Teleing is fine, by the way. That's part of the game, too. lpinkus getting pked in wildy =/= constant training Sorry, I'm not sure what that "equation" is saying. Clarify, please? Lpinkus

A Bank to sell items ?
OK. I like it, really, but I don't think JAGeX would let merchanting get this easy. Well they've pretty much let everything else get so easy: fletching, cooking, smithing, fishing... True, but this would be pushing it to another level, I feel. Especially if the "shops" did business while one wasn't even logged on. Lpinkus

f2p bank spaces!
In theory, there's no reason to be bothered, but you know a lot of P2Pers could take it the wrong way. It wouldn't bother me, tho (I'm P2P). On a side note, I know absolutely nothing about whether giving infinite bank space to everyone is even feasible. Is it? Lpinkus

f2p bank spaces!
How many times we see this :) Runescape for F2P players is a TRIAL for the P2P version. It is certainly a complete, enjoyable game to play as a F2P player, but that is purely the generosity of JAGeX. The frustration you describe is part of not having a membership. Live with it, it's not that bad. Again, the game you play is FREE. lpinkus

A Bank to sell items ?
OK. I like it, really, but I don't think JAGeX would let merchanting get this easy. You know how you try to sell an item for "x" gp, but give in and try to sell it lower after 20 minutes of typing? Well, now you can just set a price and wait until someone buys it as you kill dust devils :) We'll see... lpinkus

Alchemists Staff
5K? Are you mad? :) It would have to be much more expensive, as well as need to be recharged. Say, it's good for 2000 minds/chaos or so, but then it needs to be brought somewhere, etc. Even then, the advantage would seem to be that it saves one an inv. space. But that's going to happen anyways, isn't it? Unless the staff is charged with minds/chaos AND airs, fires, etc., and that's getting silly. Exarctly. Um, exactly. lpinkus

Alchemists Staff
This has been said before, but so has the first part of this sentence :) Nonetheless... No stinkin' way! Besides rares, every item has a natural and necessary tendency to drop in price. An "alchemy staff" or "nature staff" or whatever would really mess that up. You would no longer choose carefully which items to alch. You'd alch boots and bones and herbs, etc. lpinkus

A Bank to sell items ?
That sounds neat, but is that restricted to items that are on your person? Would the gp just show up in your inventory or pop into the bank? That seems off. lpinkus

Wha!? That was wacky, and I like it! PS-Check the spelling in your sig, Arcade, it could be more effective with "you're." :) lpinkus

horses
I think it did, but either way I liked it! I agree that people need to get past the "lag" excuse. JAGeX can take care of the lag, they've updated the game many times :) Every idea is potentially "laggy." However, that's not the only problem with horses. My biggest problem is that we already get around fast, maybe too fast. There's often a subtext to ideas on these boards. For example, when someone rants "I'm sick and tired of teleing noobs," the subtext is "I'm a frustrated PKer who wishes it was easier to get rich." The subtext to the horse idea is something like "I cannot tele many places or run for very long, so I want a horse." lpinkus

A Bank to sell items ?
I agree, but I think JAGeX might feel this makes merchanting too easy. Sorry, Bubs, but I got a bad feeling about it :) lpinkus

free and members
People who attempt to make this point astound me. In real life, I feel people deserve charity, whether it's getting a hot meal, schooling, or job offers. But please. You feel you need to have more benefits from an online computer game which you've played for a while? I'm a member now, but when I wasn't and read "You need to be on a member's server to access the feature," I said, "Oh well. I guess I'll have to subscribe if I get tired of f2p." End of story. lpinkus

Night, Day, Weather Changes?
Would you rather get updates that include new monsters, items, skills, etc., or see the sky change color in a game where clicking matters more than anything? I like the black sky just fine. It doesn't depress me :) lpinkus

horses
A week or so ago, someone posted an idea about jousting, and I started to cringe. Now, the full monty is back: horses for travel! I admit, I do get a laugh as soon as I see the topic, and for that I thank the poster. But... No! Don't beat a dead horse...or a live one you want to ride in RS :) Ugh. lpinkus

Suggestion: Bank on Karamja
This has been suggested umpteen times. It's not even a members non-members issue, really, although obviously paying a fee should make things more convenient/interesting. The issue is the quest where you have to get the Karamja rum. Pirate's Treasure/Quest, I believe? A bank would mess that up. lpinkus

new random event
Personally, I don't PK, nor do I ever take big risks in the non PKing world. I've died a total of three times in many years of playing. This idea would mean I'd have to die on purpose to get a chance at this reward. That sounds strange. So, no. Thanks for posting. lpinkus

New Update!: Age Needed For Runescape?! (discussion)
legal thing, most likely, they shouldve had it since the game started though. No doubt about it. I'm glad they've done it. lpinkus

Why alch rares?
How so? People would just find different ways to spend money. People say prices for ores and what not would go up, that could be... but it would just be a matter of time before thing's settled again. I don't nessesarilly think the prices would go up, I just think you would see alot less people having no luck of selling stuff on the forum. Either way, if the prices went up or down, it really wouldn't matter. Think about it, if you get your money via fishing... your fish sell for more, and if the price of steel bars went up, it wouldn't matter because your getting more for oyur lob / swordfish / shark... Right now, it's just like capitalism whereas 2% of the players hold the majority of the wealth, but it's just imaginary wealth.... I don't know what I am talking about any more, because I'm so sleep deprived I could eat a horse. Good day. Actually, I thought those were really neat points, sleep-deprived or not :) I also would rather have 99 prayer, or at least the guts to buy a whip. I have plenty of gp to do it, but it still seems like a big chunk to let go :) Maybe the market would settle down after a while, as you say. Maybe my anti-rare mentality might be returning a bit. Maybe I need more sleep, too. Or more coffee. Coffee, yeah. lpinkus

Courtesy campaign needed
I am all for some sort of "niceness week," corny as it might sound. How the heck would it be implemented, tho? Being nice should not award xp; that simply can't be measured. Besides, when you're kind you recieve real-life xp for your heart's well-being. Awww. That sounds corny too, but I mean it :) lpinkus

Why alch rares?
Thanks for bumping a year old topic. Yeah, really. I saw that Meili quoted me, and I thought I was misquoted. Then I noticed the post was from May '05. My opinions have changed a lot since then :) lpinkus Lol. Well then, lets hear how your opinion changed, I always enjoyed reading what you have to say. Ha! I'm touched :) I have no interest in buying/selling/wearing/drooling over rares, nor did I ever. However, I used to be adamantly against them. Now, my stance is "Eh, ok. Whatever." If the economy would change that much without them, let 'em stay. That's how I feel. How do you? lpinkus
