it wasnt really hopping, more jumping in a strange way with arms waving. I admit I never bothered with that drop, but it sounds terrible :) I don't feel I missed out on anything. To hop or not to hop. I'd rather run faster than hop :) lpinkus
-
Hop instead of run? Wow, that sounds like a great reason! (sarcasm) :) lpinkus

Thanks for bumping a year old topic. Yeah, really. I saw that Meili quoted me, and I thought I was misquoted. Then I noticed the post was from May '05. My opinions have changed a lot since then :) lpinkus

This idea, I assume, was born out of the frustration experienced by all PKers. PKing is supposed to be hard. Otherwise, PKers would be too rich, and people who don't wish to PK would no longer play RS. There are other games, I'm certain, where killing each other is a more integral part of the game :) lpinkus

I'm tired of saying "why not" to these types of posts, so instead, I'm saying: why? lpinkus

New Update!: Age Needed For Runescape?! (discussion)
lpinkus replied to namename's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
They just want to estimate how old players seem to be. People will obviously lie about it, tho. lpinkus -
That's a good point about offering and agreeing on an offer, all within the forums. That does seem odd at least. However, we all scan the forums for deals and post sales/offers. The item in question makes no difference, unless...and I've said this before...you don't care about rares! That is, in fact, the real secret to changing the rare market: getting 100% of the Runescape population to suddenly care not for rares. But you and I both know it ain't gonna happen :) So, If you want one, then you have to save for it! That's part of the charm, really. Imagine if there was a plan like suggested in this topic put into action - everyone would have them and it would be silly... "Lok at my blu phat" "So wut noob" Do we really need more chat like that in RS? I don't think so. :) lpinkus
-
Yes, it would. I think it would be fine if quests were more profitable, but it needs to be balanced. *Too* great a reward makes no sense if everyone can attain it by having a certain number of QP, which is easier than having to attain specific skill levels. lpinkus
-
Wow, you need help. You remind me why I don't PK. lpinkus
-
Well, if I cover things well, it comes from having too many rare arguments/discussions, not any sort of intelligence:) Again, I wasn't singling you out. Thanks for explaining. Drink some coffee :) lpinkus

I'm surprised I'm supporting the merchants, but merchanting phats and other rares is not "doing nothing." Yes, it's not a visible, bonafide, high-score table skill like woodcutting, but it takes time. A lot of time. I know when I merchant rune items, chaos runes, etc., it's highly annoying waiting for real offers, not to mention the actual price I'm looking for. It takes patience! So, merchanting is not at all doing nothing. If you think so, you could argue that playing RS itself is doing nothing :) lpinkus

But they *are* useful. You need to complete quests to access areas, obtain items, etc. Quests are also supposed to provide a break from the monotony of constant training. They provide stories, plots, RS history. Again, I don't mind this idea, but I also don't think quests are useless. lpinkus

Wow, I'm surprised people didn't know that :) That's ok, a level 78 asked me where Falador was yesterday. lpinkus

The robot one. Please, JAGeX, that would be killer! lpinkus

I want to agree, but isn't it true that quests already have rewards, i.e. xp and access to new areas? I understand the idea that the sheer number of quests you've done, with a few excpetions, has little meaning to the game as it is now. Still, I'm not sure I need any more reward than the quests currently give. Sorry to be a wet blanket :) Feel free to convice me. I still like Bubsa. lpinkus

I don't mean to pick on your post, Ts, there were many of this nature. Why is there so much anger caused by this issue? If you care not for rares (like me I admit), the solution is simple: ignore them. When a guy walks by with his silly little hat, learn to chuckle instead of sneer :) If you do want a rare but can't yet afford it, well, start saving :) JAGeX provides an excellent game for free (or virtually free for members). However, they did mess up once by dropping the items that currently comprise the rare market. They didn't mean for it to happen this way, but it did. So rather than punish either side, they've let it go. Now, I admit I wouldn't cry if they got rid of rares/made them untradeable, but I'm also fine with the way things are now. Lastly, if you are a merchant, you ought to understand your fellow player's frustrations. Most of you were poor at one time, unless a friend loaned you tons of gp/your first full rune :) It's not necessary to flame someone just because they're making a post about rares. When Duke posts about it, he does not flame. Neither should you. lpinkus

I don't think that's really something to "worry about." If Runescape went under, I think we'd all find things to replace it with :) Don't get me wrong, RS is great, but if I had to pick between RS and, say, my mom's lasagna, my mom's cooking wins. Hands down :) lpinkus

First off, no horses. No., no, no, no, no. Have you done a search on horse sugesstions? People suggesting it has become a joke, really. RS is not meant to "easy" or "hard," but yes, there is clicking and walking involved. That's the game. It's not a first person shooter. The intrigue is simpler, but that's what it is. Finally, as you said, this is a rant. It should have been posted on the rants board. lpinkus
-
Yes on the eggnog. Maybe even year-round. I wish they sold it year-round in RL, too :) lpinkus
-
That is the understatement of the year. No! Use the search button and read all about it :/ lpinkus

I'm sorry you don't have a monster you feel is challenging enough, but the answer is so simple: get a membership. I won't flame, but that's really all there is to it. If JAGeX gives new monsters, areas, items, etc. to F2P players, why would anyone pay for a membership. JAGeX is a *business.* lpinkus

Hot Keys: Faster Reactions in Runescape
lpinkus replied to Toxicologist's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Maybe, but PKing is supposed to be hard :) I like the hotkey idea. It's really "hot." (groan) lpinkus -
1. No, no, no. There should never be horses in RS. And riding dragons? Come on now. 2. Sounds fine, but why not just open up WordPad and save the file in a folder called "runescape?" 3. Only if it's a mini-game. Most people suggest ships as yet another easy way to get around. 4. The graphics are excellent as is. How much better does a Java game really need to look? 5. No. Please refer to the zillion other posts where F2P people ask for updates. You'll get the idea :) Merry Christmas to you, too :) lpinkus
-
I disagree and I'll explain why. It still takes just as long to cook when you cook "x." In fact, it takes longer than cooking by repetitive clicking. Too much clicking at the computer, whether you're playing a game or not, is simply awful for the hand and all the tiny bones therein. No one is leveling any faster with cook "x;" their hands just fell better :) Furthermore, I have no problem with a make "x" hard-leather bodies option. lpinkus

where have you been? mmorpgs like this try to accomidate to their increasing players. ie: world 100+. so yes its not there doing, but there the company, and your the customer and the customer never does favors to the company, its the other way around. you obviously arent very business-oriented. Actually, I think Tox's point was well made. We all know JAGeX is business-oriented, there's nothing wrong with that. No need to get flamey. However, I do support a trading area/world. lpinkus
