  1. That is an addition I would like to see, some quantification of follower exp gains from events. I remember someone came up with some ratios that were good approximations, but they weren't totally accurate and there were some gaps in their data.
  2. Since I have Rolayne "Leeroy" Twickett and Ryak left, care to part any advice or tips that I can use to get their levels to max? I have Leeroy at level 25 and Ryak at 38 or so. Personally, I just spammed easy routes (and occasionally medium ones) as the exp I got from finishing treks seemed to outweigh any (negligible) combat exp they got from helping. Once they reach their "upgrade" level (Rolayne at ~20, Smiddi at ~92) it becomes easier, as they will tell you what events are on each path and you can pick for speed/any other considerations. I avoided the Grotto event, snakes, snails, campfire and went for nail beasts (for charms), juvinates/vyrewatch (for speed/bodies), graveyard/lumberjacks/rope swing (speed).
  3. TIF is being really laggy for me and won't load anything in hide tags :S I agree about Rolayne though. I know it's a long-shot (and too similar to DG I guess) but I would like to see us able to customise the characters more. We can already give them different foods; how about potions? Special effect foods e.g. baron sharks/juju gumbo, which have a time element for healing? Different ammo for the ranger, and spells for the mages? There are really so many possibilities.
  4. Another day, another few levels... namely 92 cooking (getting closer to rocktails!) and 81 RC. I've also done some more vine herb farming and a couple of floors. Will definitely have to reset before getting 89, but oh well! I'll have another prestige level, meaning it'll be even better exp! :) I'm looking forward to warps, but they will be a long time away. I'm currently just touching up my front page a bit, while fletching. Getting close to 88...which is nothing special, but still, it's a level!
  5. I've always thought TT was a bit too undeveloped; as much as I enjoyed the rework (to the point where I had maxed all the characters ages ago), it still needed a few things IMO, like a way of checking exp gains (to judge which ways are most effective in leveling them). However, the main thing I felt the characters lacked (apart from, well, character) was AI. They all do exactly the same thing and try to attack whatever you're fighting, and don't know when to stop/safespot. If TTv2 were to be implemented, I would like either the AI to be improved, so that there are differences in the way each character acts, or I would like us to exert some control over their actions. The system they used in Salt in the Wound and the Sagas (when you controlled the Signature trio) was a bit clunky, but it could be improved.
  6. Got 88 DG! As you can see I did buy it with a few tokens, but I was close to a level and it didn't seem like any more floors were going to start that evening. I had a good attempt at the new Tasks; managed to complete the Easy, Medium and Hard sets (and got the early bird bonus too - all went to RC!) and did a few of the Elite tasks. The only thing I can't boost for is the barehanded shark I think, but I don't mind; chances are I wouldn't be able to use the reward on RC anyway. I spend a few hours in the Jadinko Lair, finally getting myself 92 FM: I then completed the Beacon Network and earned myself an Inferno Adze: This should increase my exp when getting my weekly rocks. Speaking of which, I completed week 18: just 3 months left. I also sold my Dragon Hatchet, managing to recoup all the money I spent on magic logs (plus a bit more!) I also broke a personal milestone: 15M Farming exp. My next personal milestone will be 100M total (should only be a few days). I'm currently working on using up my clan ring bonus on Woodcutting, then probably getting some more strange rocks or Herbitat. Nothing changes...
  7. So you superheat/alch? Is this advised over banking? I quite liked the sound of the AFK exp, but I guess superheating is hardly very attention/click-intensive.
  8. I agree with Vleademir; once you hit 88 (or 87 if you want to boost, it's a pain though and will be slow) you should just make extremes. 88 to 89 is 456,519 xp, or 2075 extreme attacks. 89 to 90 is 504,037 xp, or 2191 extreme strengths. 90 to 91 is 556,499 xp, or 2318 extreme defences. However, many people only make extreme defences for overloads, due to EEE being a decent alternative. In that case, you may wish to make as many as you think you'll need for overloads and then the rest more attacks/strengths or boosting for magic/ranged extremes.
  9. Thank you very much - any ideas on how many juju mining potions/urns to take per familiar pouch? And I hadn't realised about the robust glass, all done now!
  10. Thanks :D I figured I would catch some Zamorak jadinkos (while I still knew the combination for the habitats) and stock up on Zamorak vines. I spent a couple of Arctic bears there and managed to get around 150 vines, meaning I will have enough for favour potions for quite some time. In the process, I got 84 hunter: Worked on some hunter some more and managed to boost my stack of Marble vines to 400 or so - should keep me going for a while! :) Left me with 165k to 85 too, which I might get this week while getting rocks + placeholder witchdoctor legs. With this in mind, a picture of my herblore/farming tab seems appropriate: I do enjoy Herbitat <3: I have enough farming, mining and hunter potions to last me a long, long time! However, I can't help myself from making more. It's free exp (if you ignore the time aspect) and I'm sure I'll put the potions to good use - in the holidays, I manage to get through at least 1 farming potion per day. I also made some more extreme potions - I'm now less than 200k exp from 91 herblore. I should have enough extreme attacks and strengths to last me through to 99 Slayer, give or take a few (depending on tasks, cannoning, maging etc.) I will therefore make some more of these potions just for Overload use. I'm not sure on the number of Overloads to make; obviously, they are very expensive but invaluable for DG/bossing. Speaking of DG, I did a couple of floors today, bringing me very close to 88 (another floor should do it!). I hope to get 89 by the end of this week; it seems it will unfortunately include a reset too, but at least I will have a higher prestige. In the next couple of months I'd like to reach warped floors, but I think I will need to do some combat training. My melee stats just don't cut it; I'm almost always the lowest level in the party by ~20 levels. I did train some Summoning, just enough to get me 81: I now have access to Gorgonite Ragers, which will be more useful for bosses.
  11. I know it wasn't right to snipe you.. but you were just there ;_; also I didn't post it on the official thread.
  12. Well done on 119! What are you planning on having as your 4th bind?
  13. I want to get my Crafting to 89 (85 atm) to make flasks - I know I can boost from 86 but I'd rather get the level and not have to worry. I have nearly 1k sandstone banked :) What would be the best way of doing so? I don't have a set budget, per se; methods that would cost over about 15M are probably too expensive however. Secondly, I want to mine at the LRC. What's a good inventory setup for banking gold? Is it too laggy on the official worlds, or will I not be safe if I chose to do it on a random world? Is it worth bringing the mining outfit (given how much it weighs)? Thanks :)
  14. Pretty self-explanatory; my last skill to 80 was Thieving. Next, I'll be focussing on some more 85+ and a couple of 90+! :)
  15. I don't blame you for not looking forward to Livid Farm - I did enough to get the first spell and haven't returned. Some spells look really useful (Remote Farm, Repair Rune Pouch, Trollheim Teleport) but the minigame itself is very dull and time-consuming. I'm planning on getting through a couple of Scrubs seasons while unlocking more spells personally...
  16. I really enjoy reading your blog! It's a different take on gameplay, and really reminds me that RS is an 'adventure' game. I'd recommend doing Smoking Kills as soon as possible; it's not tricky to do at 85 combat (I did it!) and the points really do add up when you slay. Best of luck with the rest of your goals - if you fancy a chat (when you're not being attacked in the Wilderness arena :P), my chat is always on 'All'. :)
  17. Haha, I didn't think I was that recognisable! I recognise your clothes though, especially with your shiny new cape - well done on that! :D Yeah, I love those sorts of things. What do you reckon some of the tasks will be? Managed to get 80 Thieving yesterday: This means I now have all skills 80+! Quite a big achievement for me. I decided to show off my new cape: It's nice, though I think I'll still stick to my (apparently recognisable) ensemble. Got a few levels, including 85 fishing, 87 woodcutting and 91 FM (1 more to adze! Should get in a couple of weeks of strange rocks) My plans for the next week I am unsure of; I'm going to continue herb farming for money, and I've added morchellas too. I'm thinking about starting to level crafting to 89; I've got almost 1k sandstone to convert to flasks, which will be either profitable or useful (or both!) I will also work on getting a few more skills to 85, namely agility (until Skoll bonus wears off), hunter (for more Samaden/Ugune seeds) and possibly mining. I need a good setup for LRC though, I think I will post in H&A. I would like to DG more, but I can't help feeling I slow teams down. In most parties, I am the only sub-137 combat (and often, sub-100 DG) player. As such, I just can't keep up in terms of DPS and deaths. I worry that I compromise floor times and my own exp - maybe I should hold DG off a bit until I get some more combat experience. However, before I do that, I would like to get my hands on at least a few overloads, so it may be quite some time.. we will see. I continue to C2 fish my lower floors when I feel like it. Speaking of agility, I got my agile legs as well - thanks to my T2 Surefooted aura, getting through those laps was a lot quicker (and less painful) than I previously expected. Bring on the next few levels!
  18. Long time no update! I wasn't very prepared for BXPW due to a lot of work and celebrating in the preceding week, and the fact that I was travelling home over the weekend. However, I still managed to get 85-90 Herblore (meaning I have a nice stack of extremes for when I start slaying), 83 construction, 79 Thieving and 90 FM. I also completed the Seers Elite diary, and am very excited for the Morytania diary (hopefully) coming next week! My gameplay doesn't really seem to have much of a direction atm; I'm putting off getting that last Thieving level because I find PP quite tiresome and dull. Instead, I'm collecting strange rocks (managed to collect most of last week's yesterday, and all of this week's today...yeah...) and getting the odd level here and there. I've decided to stop collecting Erzille, Argway and Shengo seeds; I have far more unfinished potions than I have patience to collect corrupt/shadow vines, but I might as well keep them. When I next get some Samaden, I will hopefully be able to bolster my Zamorak Favour stocks too - about 90 vines saved up. :) I don't really have much other news... so here's a picture of me getting 90 Herblore:
  19. Evidence of this? The secateurs boost isn't an extra herb pick, like juju/greenfingers, you get a proper increased chance of the crop surviving more picks, like compost. It would make sense to give each pick chances at extra herbs from other effects, not distinguishing between extra picks from secateurs and others. It is the explanation given to me by several people when I asked what juju farming potions did - I can't say I have any evidence or reliable sources though. So take my response with a pinch of salt.
  20. EoE occasionally do abd/furn floors, but they aren't as common as occults. Alternatively, you could go to W117 (really, really not recommended).
  21. 1) Yes (e.g., you can get 1 + 1 from juju + 1 from aura = 3 herbs from one pick) 2) Yes, but additively, so juju will give you extra herbs based on the 'base' number (before the +10% from secateurs) 3) Not if you're only doing herb runs, as you won't manage to harvest and plant in the four patches before your dose runs out. They're also quite expensive; I personally did herbs, maples, papayas and calquat from 80ish to 99 (plus the odd Spirit Tree).
  22. So.. a long time since any posts, or even any worthwhile RS activity! I had what you could call a 'mid-week breakdown', and completely cleared my bank (excluding DG rewards and untradeables that were a pain to remove - I'm looking at you, 6k Serums). But now I'm back (to normal) and should be playing properly after this next week, which unfortunately is crammed with deadlines. I haven't really achieved much of note in the past couple of weeks, apart from a level here and there. When I have had time to play, I've been farming snaps, doing HH to reobtain my witchdoctor gear and collecting desert phoenix feathers for BXPW. On the subject of BXPW, I didn't really think about 'preparing' as such, so it looks like I'll make as many Super Antifires as I have time to collect feathers for (currently doing around 110/day, using up my Dominion teleports), then some construction (I have ~3.8k oak planks, don't know how far they will get me - maybe 82?) and then probably something dull like Thieving (my last sub-80 skill). If there are any floors on, I might do a few for the last bits of bonus exp. I have been slacking with rocks as well, but hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things soon, currently completed 16 weeks. That's all for now, I might try and think of some proper goals to post on the main page - they will most likely be skilling-related, as I may have sold all my combat gear...
  23. Completed the new quest (and nabbed the Early Bird bonus) - with the rewards I got 84 Ranged, and am just 30k from 82 Agility and ~150k from 91 Magic. I got a few levels today, namely 80 RC from Troll Invasion and penguins, leaving 3 Thieving levels until 80+ all skills! :) I also got 87 Smithing, 88 Firemaking, and 91 Cooking. [spoiler=Loads of pictures!] I don't really agree with Jagex's decision to nerf effigies the way they did; as such, I have removed the 'Effigies' section of my first post as collecting them will be more difficult, and I will have to find some assists now.
  24. Haha, you will be pleased to know... 0 levels today! I completed the statue (15 done so far - half way there!) and did my final Court Case (Miss Schism). I'm quite sad I've finished them now - they were fun to do every couple of weeks or so. Today I gathered some rocks (surprise) and did a bit of cooking and some smithing/crafting; 18k from 87 smithing atm, not that getting a level will serve any real purpose :P I was just close to it. I doubt I will have a chance to play tomorrow, so plans for the rest of the week are: 80 RC (hopefully) Finish my C1s and start DGing again properly! Do a bit of WC/fletching/cooking/fishing So...that's all, folks! :)
  25. So yeah! :) next steps are 80+ all skills, then... I dunno, 85+?
