(last round) Kimako: The lightbulb looks like any ordinary lightbulb, occasionally flickering. There is yet another door right next to it. As you walk towards the door, the technician starts panicking, yelling "It's going for me now!" As you look back, you see the technician fighting off the strange shadow with his blowtorch. He continues to fight it off, tossing an incendiary grenade to you. Charles: Another two dogs come running through the fog. One of them trys to bite your arm, but you kick it, before firing your shotgun at it's chest, moderately wounding it. The other dog latches on you leg, but you aim your pistol down at it, shooting it straight through the head. You find dual-wielding a shotgun and pistol to be incredibly inaccurate. -1 shotgun shell and 9mm round Enigma: You pull out your PDA, which seems to occasionally flicker, but the map still works. You use the map to navigate your way out of the forest without incident. Varius: You scurry down the vent shaft, coming across another grate after a short time. You peek through it, looking into what appears to be a janitorial closet of some sort. The vent shaft continues ahead of you.

Kimako: Although it was quite dark, you remember the creatures looking like some sort of freakish wolf. Towards the end of the tunnel you see a lone light-bulb lit. Varius: The prong shocks you again as you reach for it. You then kick the grate, breaking it into two large pieces. However, they seem rather unwieldy, but you take them anyways. You jump up, grabbing the onto the vent, pulling yourself into it. There is stomping below, and you hear someone talking, before a few bullets hit the vent shaft, missing you. Charles: The last known location of the blind dog was when it ran off to the left, but the fog is still thick. You hear panting and ready your shotgun. As it charges through the fog again, you quickly get your sight on it, and fire at point blank. The damage done is outstanding, blowing off the dog's front right leg, and hitting it in the chest. It flails on the ground for a minute before seizing up and dying. You can hear numerous howls nearby. -1 +0.1 shotgun prof. Enigma: You scan the surroundings, remembering it to be the dead forest you came across while en route to a proposed ecologist base.

Varius: You begin bashing the vent with your bare hands, before trying to pry it off. One of the screws seems rusted, and consequently breaks. You go crashing down to the floor with the vent in hand, and realize that a security camera has been watching you the entire time. An siren goes off, followed by a voice stating, "Outbreak in cell-block B-12. Contain and cauterize immediately." A prong on the side of the wall shoots out a small bolt of electricity, shocking you. Charles: Simon stammers ,"Hhhh-eelpp" before passing out. You load up your shotgun, getting ready for whatever is toying with you. A blind dog runs right past you, growling. Kimako: The growls grow louder, and suddenly 3 creatures come charging at you. You fire at them with your MP5, hitting all of them. Strangely enough, they simply dissipate when they are hit with a bullet. +0.1 SMG prof.

Charles: You spot a medkit from the helicopter on the ground next to Simon. After gathering the contents, you begin to treat his wounds, doing a rather decent job for not having much medical experience. Fortunately for Simon, you get him to stop bleeding, although he still seems pretty roughed up. You are interrupted when there is a rustling in the leaves, but the fog hinders you from seeing where it came from. +0.3 medic Varius: You realize that you have been completely stripped of your possessions, only having a blue prison suit on. The draft is blowing from above, and you spot a vent. There is the sound of electricity and screaming for a short moment, then falling silent again. Enigma: Your body seems to be in a stable condition, with no major wounds barring a few scrapes and bruises. Kimako: As you stealthily creep down the tunnel, you can hear faint growling. Suddenly, it stops.

Varius: You search around the cell for any sign of the weapons, but there is no sign of them. There is some commotion, and you see a guard dragging a man in a blue outfit to the "chair" room. The man begins screaming, "Help me, anybody please, help! These people are c-" he is cut off when the guard pulls him in, slamming the door shut. You can feel a cool draft of air blowing on you. Enigma: With a tremendous leap you fly across the wall, the guards still shooting at you. When you land at the other side, you see the white abberation again, pointing off in the distance. The landscape past the wall is white and featureless. A short moment later, everything begins to darken, till it is pitch black. You wake up in the dead forest, sprawled on the ground. Charles: Simon mutters, clearly in pain. He is bloodied, and looks like he has been banged up a fair amount. Kimako: The technician says, "I have about as much of a clue as you do at this point." You both agree that it would be smart to go down the unblocked section. As you begin your trek, you are interrupted by a strange echo that resonates through the tunnel.

Charles: Your PDA is still fried from when you hit the water. You follow the blood trail for a short while before coming up to a squad-mate propped up against a tree. Varius: You poke at the force field, but it seems solid for all you know. It seems that you are in a containment block, but you can see a room ahead with a lone, bloody chair in the center. Much to your horror you see various instruments surrounding the chair. You decide that is best not to wonder what these particular instruments do. Enigma: You fire a bullet, but nothing seems to be wrong with it. When you jump forward, however, you go flying into the wall, smashing against it. One of the guards takes notice of your strange ability, and calls up something on the radio. Kimako: The skeleton seems to have already been looted, but you decide to take the skull, for whatever strange reason. You then cautiously open the door, beaming your light down the massive storm drain tunnel. One of the ways looks blocked due to a large amount of debris.

(lunch, brb in 10) Kimako: The technician nods, and you continue on. After a short walk through the rather uninteresting tunnel, you come across yet another door, with a skeleton right next to it. The door is labeled "Storm drain entrance" Charles: The crash site seems devoid of any materials that would be of use to you. After rummaging around you see the dead pilot, trapped within the twisted metal wreckage. Oddly enough you cannot find the other two bodies, but spot a trail of blood leading off into the fog. Enigma: You fire at the tree, with nothing out of the ordinary happening. However, you trip over a root, and quickly realize that something is wrong with gravity itself. Varius: You wake up in some sort of cell, with a strange force field blocking you from getting out.

Charles: You start fiddling with a few wires in the radio, suddenly snapping one of them. The radio then promptly dies. Kimako: The technician responds, "So-something completely enveloped you! I'm not sure what it was going to do with you, but I panicked and tried to burn it with my blowtorch. It seemed to disperse when I did that, but I think it is still around!" Enigma: As you walk towards the gate, the guards open fire on you. You roll off to the side, narrowly dodging the volley of bullets, but something doesn't feel...right. Varius: Two of your apparent rescuers head off into the back rooms without saying a word. The other one stands guard at the door, with the final one looking at you. He appears to have some black combat armor on, with a full-faced white gasmask, the eye pieces glowing blue. You can hear muffled radio chatter, and the soldier suddenly mutters something before knocking you out with the butt of his rifle.

Varius: You try to raise your arm to slash the creature, but a numb feeling streams throughout your body. The creature tightens its grip on your neck, and you try letting out a scream, but instead let out a short squeal. As you think all hope is lost, you spot a few ropes drape down from the skylight. Suddenly, two figures rappel down the ropes, with another 3 jumping through the windows. There is the faint hum of electricity, and one of the figures aims towards you. Suddenly, his weapon lets off a charge of energy, hitting the creature, vaporizing it instantly. Charles: Using the scent of the smoke and the buzzing, you slowly begin to meander towards the apparent crash site. After stumbling around for some time, you finally come upon a twisted metal wreckage. There is a looped radio message playing, but there is so much static that it is hard to decipher. There is a mess of blood surrounding the crash site. Kimako: You try opening your eyes, and suddenly the darkness breaks. You wake up on the floor, your suit slightly charred, with the horrified technician shaking you. Enigma: The figure runs up to the massive gate, and suddenly phases through it. The gate guards don't seem to notice.

Charles: The fog is incredibly thick, and your visibility is so low that it seems nigh-impossible to find the crash site by eye. You catch the scent of smoke, along with hearing the faint buzzing of a radio. Varius: Apparently the monster hears your taunt, as something comes crashing through the window. Before you can react, it grabs you by the neck, and you can feel something trying to burrow in. Kimako: You try mentally teleporting out of the room, but nothing happens. Everything suddenly feels hot, and your body starts shaking. However, everything is black. Enigma: Your words are in vain, as the figure just smirks, running off towards the towering wall. The fog has disappeared now, the whole world having a strange white hue.

(Last round) Enigma: You fire a single shot into the orb of light and it shatters into innumerable pieces. The mumbling abruptly stops, turning to a shrill scream. The scream continues to grow louder and louder, and you ears begin bleeding. As the torment continues, you feel a pain in your head, which grows to be a migraine. Slowly the world fades into darkness. As you look across the void you see a white figure, looking similar to yourself.

Earth: The snork lunges at you, but misses by the slightest inch. You immediately grab your machete, and like a madman, drive it down into the snork's neck, lobbing it's head off. Meanwhile, you see the remaining merc firing at another two snorks attacking him, only to be brought down by one of them. +0.2 melee Enigma: The mumbling grows louder, until it is full blown yelling. However, the words remain incomprehensible, and you are driven to insanity. In your rage, you begin firing your pistols in all directions, screaming. Out of nowhere, a white orb of light forms, only a few feet in front of you.

Kimako: Your vision begins to fade into darkness as you hear the faint hollering of the technician. You wake up in a all-white room, almost blinded by an intense light. Varius: With a bloodcurdling scream you slash at the creature's legs, hitting one of the apparent calf muscles. Before you can go in for the kill, the creature grabs you by the neck, and throws you to the ground. You are distracted by the faint rattle of gunfire for a split second, but then quickly realize that the creature is gone. Your left arm feels slightly limp now. Earth: One of the mercs shouts "Multiple contacts!" His apparent buddy readies his weapon, but is knocked off the edge of the bunker roof by a lunging snork. You hear gunfire below, and notice that another snork has jumped atop the bunker, right next to you. Enigma: You shout only echoes through the deserted airstrip, and there is no response. Your eyes begin whiting out again, followed by strange flashbacks, such as your experiences in the underground lab, various firefights, and finally the deserted hospital. The moaning grows louder and more intense.

Varius: You hide behind what is left of a window, ready to strike. Sure enough, you see something out of the corner of your eye, heading straight towards you. As the creature charges, you jump to your feet, just in time to parry off a swipe directed at you. The adrenaline kicks in, and you react with lightning fast reflexes, slashing the creature in the shoulder with your katana. There is a hiss as the creature attempts another quick swipe at you, slashing your arm. A tingling sensation overcomes your left arm. +0.1 dexterity Improved reflexes for a short time Kimako: The technician waits for you to go through the door, before shutting it. As you shine your light down the next corridor, a chill goes down your spine, and you mind is filled with unexplainable fear. Enigma: You kick the man over, but he seems still and lifeless. His face is covered in blood, along with the rest of his body. The mumbling continues, but suddenly, your vision whites out. As you regain your vision, the mumbling stops. Oddly enough, the man's face seems much less gruesome. Again, your vision whites out, reverting back to the way things were originally.

Kimako: There are no materials suitable to block the ladder. The technician points his flashlight around, spotting another door a few feet in front of you. Nothing seems to come down the ladder, however. A rat squeaks and runs by. Earth: The entire roof / helipad seems devoid of anything that would be of use to you. As you search around, a merc points at a seemingly random location in the fog. The other merc turns around, loads his rifle and takes a shot. There is a shortened howl, before one of the mercs murmurs something into his radio. Apparently you were chosen for being a close-quarters guard. Varius: You are greeted by a rather disturbing scene as you walk into the room. There are a few puddles of blood on the floor, as well as a long streak of blood going out the window. One of the windows appears to have been hit by a grenade, as it is now a gaping hole. Along with the assortment of tattered clothing, you find a severed arm and an ID tag, most likely belonging to one of the Duty squad members. Oddly enough, the room seems calm again. Enigma: The muttering voice grows louder, and soon you find a man stumbling towards you, only a few feet away. Blood is dripping down his eyes, and in horror you take a shot at him, hitting him in the abdomen. The man keels over, falling to the ground shortly after. Oddly, the mumbling continues... -1

Earth: One of the mercs pulls you up to the roof of the bunker, as the main entrance seems sealed. You are accompanied by two mercenaries there, both equipped with thermal goggles. Kimako: As you point the light down, a rat scurries away. There is a massive amount of dust floating around, but everything seems quite normal. You climb down the ladder, reaching the bottom without consequence, and the technician does the same. Varius: You tell the two remaining men to stay calm, which remotely reassures them. After doing so, you wander towards the back of the building, spotting the computers that were hacked, and noticing an old door that was recently bashed down. There seems to be another door that is unopened, leading to the unknown. From what you have seen, the building has a main entrance, with a door to the server room and then two other doors connected to that. Suddenly, you hear some screaming, followed by gunfire and some sort of explosion. After a minute you catch the scent of smoke. Enigma: The muttering continues, and you decide to take a shot in the direction of the noise. However, you seem to miss whatever is out in the unknown.

Kimako: The technician disappears into one of the back rooms for a moment, before returning, signaling for you to follow. He bashes open a rusty door, leading to a small room with a single ladder in the middle. Without saying a word, he takes out two flashlights, handing one of them to you. Varius: You alert the other men, telling them to keep watch on the door. However, the entity seems to have fled from the main entrance. You recall it having humanoid features when it was caught on the thermal goggles.
