(Last post for the night, sorry for the short session) Kimako: You try listening carefully but everything is dead silent. The technician tells you, "I think there might be a maintenance tunnel entrance somewhere in the back rooms, but I'm not sure." Fog begins to slowly seep into the building. Varius: The guards cover the windows, and one of the men sets up some shards of metal to act as a sort of spear-trap. Your thermal goggles pick up something outside the door and you take a shot, apparently hitting the intruder. -1 Enigma: You manage to get yourself on your feet again. As you get up, you hear an occasional mumbling.

Kimako: The technician nods, plugs your PDA into a USB cable, and begins uploading the data. He then states, "It will be some time, there were quite a few large files." You glance outside, and have the sinking feeling that there will be some complications getting back to the HQ in these conditions. Suddenly, you hear a ruckus in the main entrance... Enigma: The fog is incredibly thick now, and you can only see a foot or two in front of you. You decide to go off by ear, cautiously continuing towards the unknown noise. Suddenly, you are tripped up by a charred skeleton. Varius: You grab your knife, crouched near the back of the room. The AR specialist suddenly goes, "Did anyone hear that?" There is a crash from the skylight, as an invisible force grabs one of the medical team guards. In a panic, you swing your knife, hitting something a split second before the screaming guard is hauled out the window. The muffled screams abruptly stop, and you notice blood dripping off your knife. +0.2 dexterity

Varius: You scan the entrance of the building, but cannot see anything. Fortunately for you, there is only one main entrance, and a skylight above. Suddenly, a squadmate hollers, "I--I think I saw something moving!" Everyone jumps on the alert, edgy and afraid. Kimako: The scanner picks up nothing, as there seem to be no anomalies nearby. You glance over at the technician, who seems to have cracked the final part of the database. When you ask him what it contains, he scratches his head and responds, "It's a bunch of scientific gibberish, seems that someone was keeping records of the egghead's scanning and logs. I'll have to send it to a local ecologist to be deciphered." Earth: An alarm goes off in the bunker, and several mercs start scrambling, heading to the different defensive stations. Enigma: You slowly approach the airstrip, your feet crunching on the dried ash. The fog is thick and you breathe in the moist air.

Pirates 2: Return of the Kraken
"Take a seat, dearest governor." Roderick hops into a chair, sitting cross legged. Suddenly, he pulls a doubloon out of his pocket, flipping it in his right hand. "There is a vast sum of wealth out there in exports, just waiting to be reaped. Unfortunately, it seems that many...others have also taken to this business. However, I am sure that these interlopers will pack their bags if someone does a bit of...convincing." Roderick stops flipping the doubloon, grasping it in his hand. "You see, dearest governor, with my mercantile expertise and your governing abilities, I see the potential for this little outpost to become something much greater. Of course, you will need some help with taking care of those rather pesky pirates as well." Roderick then shoves the coin back in his pocket, waiting for a response.

Enigma: You scan the airstrip, but the entire area looks burned and lifeless. However, you spot some signs of activity from freshly strewn ash on the airstrip. An eerie fog begins to roll in, and you quickly find the entire area enveloped with a thick veil of fog. Kimako: Despirately, you continue to hit your radio to contact the commander. Over the heavy static, you can barely make out "*static* I- *static* I re- *static* anyon- *static* squads?! Ca- *static* bac- *static*" The transmission fades to complete static. Meanwhile, the technician manages to crack into some more of the database, with only the core files remaining.

Pirates 2: Return of the Kraken
Roderick disembarks at a nearby port-town, taking a stroll in the central district. As he walks around, he nibbles at a piece of gingerbread, only until he gives a look of distaste, tossing the remaining gingerbread at a peasant. He exclaims, "Bah! Worthless rabble!". Suddenly, he spots a small plot of paved land for sale, undeveloped. A smirk slowly begins to form on his face. "This pristine piece of land looks like a fine place for a market square..." And so it began...

What I meant to say is that gound battles don't completely destroy developments. If you don't want to rebuild developments, ground battles are the way to go.

The problem with late dungeoneering is that most of the players have logged out for the night. I hope it works out, but just a fair word of advice.

(Last roll for today) Charles: You plunge into the lake, quickly surfacing. Your PDA seems to have fried, but may still work if it is dried out. The fog is so thick that you can only see a few feet in front of you. Suddenly, you hear a loud bang, followed by the horrendous screeching of metal. Earth: The professor tells you that a nearby quarry has experienced anomalous activity recently. The trader window shudder is closed. Kimako: After donning your suit, the technician continues to give you instructions on how to help. Finally, there is a small breakthrough, with part of the database cracked. Varius: You get a chill down your spine as a thick fog rolls in, consuming the entire building. Enigma: You head down the road, finding a small airstrip. However, it seems completely abandoned. One of the duty members messages you from the hospital, asking for assistance on taking out an enemy bunker.

Earth: The professor lights up, briskly walks into his office and is gone for a few minutes. When he returns, he hands your the vest saying, "If my theory is correct, then this coating should protect your bulletproof vest from any corrosive damage due to those nasty chemicals out there!" Charles (It would be shotgun proficiency): The helicopter pilot continues to listen to the radio chatter, before noticing that the helicopter has plunged into the thick fog. He panics, trying get the helicopter to a lower altitude. The pilot, still panicking, accidentally jerks the helicopter to tilt. You realized in horror that you forgot to put on your seatbelt, as you fall out of the helicopter, plummeting into a small lake. Enigma: The tower guards are scanning the horizon, and look ready to shoot anything on sight. Kimako: Your fingers cramp up as you start to hack the database. Fortunately, the technician seems to know what he is doing. The radio to Duty HQ is complete static. Varius: One of the guards motions for you to keep watch at what is left of the entrance.

Kimako: The technician shows you some basic methods on how to hack the cameras and you catch on quickly. However, the main database still remains locked down. On one of the camera monitors you notice a thick veil of fog rolling inland. None of the Duty soldiers are available at the moment, and the grenade supply seems to have been used. +0.3 hacking Charles: You get on the helicopter, introducing yourself to the other operatives. As you chat with them, they reveal that one of them is a engineering expert, while the other is simply a guard. The helicopter pilot cuts your conversation off stating, "Listen up! Another squad of ours went missing near the old research lab. We need you to get down there, locate the squad, get any info you can and then call for evac." Suddenly, you hear some radio chatter on the pilot's headphones. Earth: After a short trip, you end up at the professor's desk. The professor takes your old scanner, and replaces it with a new one. He then says, "Yes, I am certain that we have found ourselves a new type of anomaly. It is a shame that no artifacts could be retrieved. Could I see your Kevlar vest for a minute? I would like to perform some...modifications." Varius: You abruptly wake up, gasping for air. One of the medical team members tells you, "That was a close one. You won't be able to run for a bit due to your injuries, but it should not last long." Enigma: As you continue walking, you finally spot a paved road. An APC drives by on it, stopping at a massive gate, which quickly opens, letting the vehicle through before slamming shut. A helicopter flys overhead, and you spot 4 guards on mounted turrets sitting atop the wall. All the trees look dwarf compared to the size of the massive wall.

Varius: A medic rushes off, quickly returning with bloodbags. "We are going to lose this one unless he gets a transfusion!" -and those are the last words you remember Kimako: Many of the bodies are mutilated completely by explosives, but there are a few that you manage to salvage. The technician then escorts you to a basement, which appears to be the database. (10) 7.62MM rounds 300c Hunting knives (3) Enigma: The wall is made of various metals, some which you have never seen before. Occasionally you spot a few of the UN security seals as you begin to walk by it. The wall is so overpowering that it towers over the dead trees in the forest. Charles: "Ok private! Head down to the helipad with our two other operatives! You will be briefed on the chopper!" Earth: You pick up the scanner, which appears to be slightly corroded. Somehow the scanner managed to still take the readings while it was dropped, to your amazement. The other ecologists wave at you, signaling that they have finished as well.

Kimako: You slowly walk towards the bodies of the Freedom members, surrounded by complete desolation. As you reach down to loot a body that has not been completely mutilated, someone grabs you on the shoulder, turning you around. A Duty technician reveals himself, asking you, "Ma'am, I need your help hacking a database we found here. It seems that this was much more than just a radio tower..." Earth: You begin scanning the swamp-like anomaly, only to drop your scanner in a puddle of muck. Icu: You walk up to another experienced member of CS, asking him for a status report. He states, "Another recruit? Can I have your name? I need to organize a few squad members for a recon mission deeper in the zone, are you interested? Enigma: Slowly you begin to snap out of your daze, finding yourself next to a massive wall in the middle of the forest. Varius: The medical team continues to dress your wounds, as you are in no shape to get up yet.

Alright, one Spas-12 shotgun along with a basic bulletproof vest coming up. Unfortunately, you only have enough for 10 rounds. Now that we have that sorted out, begin!
