  1. Benedict continues on his way to the monastery.
  2. People claiming they're the strongest most of the time because their session pretty much go like this: >I use spam move A on this >Walk down road and see tree >I use spam move A on this >Walk into forest and see bear >Spam move A >Bears >SPAM MOVE A >Probably after spamming the pretty much the same action for a while and gaining lots of skills >Lul what's my skill level >+4.00 above the rest because I just spent the entire session using the same skill without any form of reason And I can almost guaruntee that 'experiment' is just "I JUST WORKED OUT I CAN DO OTHER STUFF WITH MY SKILL INSTEAD OF JUST A BOLT OF MAGIC? OH HOLY HELL!!!!"
  3. /join #DungeonCrawl tavern
  4. I'll be at a monastry conedemming heresy.
  5. 8pm to 10pm will be the session today.
  6. There may be a lot of stats but you wont be using them all, well you can try but that probably wont end well, and I'll just keep them in a txt file.
  7. Because there's no real starting items for that, as you can just craft with your hands, and wands give your some form of offense without actually having a weapon. Also wands are the more basic magic items you can make, so once a wand runs out I'll let you change the effect of it, until you get good enough and have the appropriate materials for what you want to make.
  8. Reworking will need to be done, and I see you point. The first few sessions will mostly be introductions and balancing issues, so you wont be missing out on anything if I accidentally make it imba, but I'll fix it soon.
  9. Ok All people start with food except Seraphim because he doesn't get hungry, you all start with one piece of bread which is enough to last you the first two sessions I imagine, unless you guys are really slow. You also all start off with a basic weapon of your choice and wizards start off with a book (which I judge on how you've said what kind of wizard you want to be) you can't start with both a book and a weapon. Nex: Book of chaos + robe God: Kaal, goddess of harmony. Likes: Charming creatures, defeating creatures of the warp/abyss, defeating undead, killing evil Dislikes: You using your warp magic, You killing good creatures, you killing allies. Granted power: Charming (Allows you to charm a creature to make it friendly, certain creatures will be perma charmed and you will get xp for that) Ieyfura: Weapon of your choice + shield + chain mail God: None (You can still pick one before we start or just find an altar in the dungeon) Archi: Weapon of your choice + Robe God: Endovelicus Goddess of healing and safety Likes: Healing people, sacrifices (As in after you kill someone offer the corpse via praying) Dislikes: Setting traps, Killing humanoids, Time Seraphim: Books of evil + robe God: Caenerva, God of evil magic, fate and the warp Likes: Killing of any variety, sending creatures to the abyss Dislikes: Time (As in you lose peity over time), Mercy (as in if the creature is charmed and you let it go) Neferast: Book of wizardry, robe God (none) Mather: Wand of fire + Wand of cold + 2 scrolls of recharging No god Jehosaphat: Cloak + Leather armour + Weapon of your choice No god. Everyone but Nex starts off at 0 peity (and thus no granted power) and Nex starts off at 100 peity (rank 2)
  10. What time is everyone free tomorrow, because I generally go to bed quite early before weekdays (to try and get up seriously early to do some studying, homework before school) I need to work out what time is available as to make a nice session to run, would preferrably run one that at least runs a couple of hours. 11. Animals are intelligent, and it's a pretty annoying argument people use when they say certain animals are off limits because they're intelligent. No matter what, we are intelligent enough to know about the concept of death (us as humans) and thus us killing any animal is still as barbaric no matter the situation, but I personally believe animals are indeed also as intelligent enough to know about the concept of death, and I mean almost all animals, up until the point where they no longer have a survival instinct (I am not sure if there is an animal out there that does not have this), because their survival instinct is to fear death and to survive as long as possible, and thus logic dictates they know what it is. However, I am not a believer in that we should not kill because the thing can feel, I believe in survival. We must kill to survive (even if you're a vegetarian, plants still are alive (but probably unable to fear death)). So to summarise, I beleive all animals have a the capacity to understand death, but that should not affect the neccessity to kill. It's the law of natural selection.
  12. The worst offender is computing. I lost marks in my actual exam because the examiners are just plain evil. "Promotional" is not the same as "Special" in terms of offers Apparently the answer in a table is "4,4,4,4" and I wrote "4,4,4,4" and got it WRONG. And a few other things. Seriously, reading the mark scheme and ordering your test paper being returned really opens your eyes to how much the examiners really just hate students.
  13. To me, when someone says they enjoy the presence of someone, it can be they're friends or romantically involved, I normally don't want to make an assumption and say something wrong (although I can think it) Also, reply from two universities with conditional offers 280 points (equivilent to a BBC) 300 points (BBB) As I'm aiming for a BBB, I can probably get in, but the issue with me is, I can know the subject quite well and still do terribly in the test because of LOL KEYWORDS and PEDANTICISM. Example today: My chemistry teacher gave us a test on chemical half-cells, and I was able to work out most of it without having to write the reactivity series next to it (he said to do it, but I didn't want to waste time on the test, because he didn't word it like "It's part of the question" but rather "It'll help you") So I get all the working correct, but no reactivity series. And then when it came to the diagram (granted I did it wrong, but got most of the labels 'right') I still only got one mark because instead of writing "acid" I wrote the name of an actual acid, instead of writing "H2 at standard pressure and temperature" I wrote "H2" (but it was obvious it was standard pressure and temperature BECAUSE IT STATES IT ANYWAY IN THE QUESTION) So instead of getting 9/9 (may have been 8/8) I got 4. So yeah, rant over, hopefully I'll learn the keywords and just use them in the exam. Oh and I'll actually study over time instead of cram studying like I usually do (or sometiems don't even do that)
  14. Wait I'm confused, the way Nex says it means he's crushing on someone, the way Mather says it is that Nex is actually with a person. Congratulations if you are Go for it man! If you aren't I find myself a bit ehhh with relationships currently. There are a few girls I have noticed who are very nice and I would definitely go out with, but either they have a boyfriend, they're not really close or been there done that. I also find it's much easier to talk to girls online and seem to be much more confident online, god damn confidence really changes the way people see you. By that I mean, I also don't have enough confidence in real life to ask any girl out.
  15. Yeah mather pretty much saved my hiney when it crushed my arm. Although I think I dealt a wound to it.
  16. Well, after a bit of light censoring There may still be a swearing word in there, so if you're really really against a possible swear then don't click to unhide. [hide] [/hide] That's my desktop And for what "Dusty.Txt" is, he gave me something and I needed to save it, so I saved it and kept it on my desktop.
  17. 5 people seem like a good start to a party, I'll begin developing ideas around Friday, as my last exam for the season is on thursday :) Although I will give people the chance to reconsider because 2 assassins 2 artificers 1 healer Also! Could people beging thinking of their religion? (If you're played stone soup, you realise religion is a huge part of the mid tier - end tier game) What I'm basically wanting is: A concept of a God (A single God, no pantheon) A conecpt of his teachings, as in, does the god teach you to be an enlightened soul and spread good throughout the land? Does it want you to be blood thirsty and relish in battle? How do you worship this god? (So I know how you plan to gain peity) Other than that, I need nothing else to begin designing.
  18. Seems we have a drow assassin, two dwarf artificers and a halfling healer.
  19. Role playing would be encouraged. I plan to make it slightly story based.
  20. Due to the interest in the Fireplace I have decided to move discussion here. Now, I have a few questions that will allow me to begin designing the game once they are answered. What day suits you best? Friday is not open, Weekdays are generally not open, but if needs be I can run them, Saturday seems to be the best day for me. What character do you want to play? Give race and Class. This allows me to work out your races nice and early and discuss what you want with your character. Also let's me plan out the dungeon faster. Method of playing? I'm open to map tools or IRC only really, but people seem to be having trouble with Maptools, and maptools means a lot more time has to go into crafting the dungeons, which could mean low quality if I do slack, which I often do.
  21. Considering making a new game, similar to dungeoneering except: It is entirely a dungeon crawl. The back story to the game will be worked out, but the game only involves one MASSIVE dungeon. No option to leave it either until you either all die or all win. Pretty much inspired by stone soup if any of you have played it. The reason I think it will be interesting is; it will force you all to work together, no people wandering off by themselves (unless they do it in the dungeon), more combat orientated, super loot and what not. The challenge will come from the sheer difficulty of the dungeon that will scale exponentially, until you reach the final floor and win. I will create my own system, again for this. It wont be too hard. But before I do, I would want to know what everyone's character is, so I can work out the mechanics of everyone's race beforehand. So, anyone up for a dungeon crawl game?
  22. Noooo Magic fantasy setting, with puzzles like in Space, skill set up like in Space. Replace Ship with Castle :P? ORRRR PIRATE SPACE. YOU LIKE WHERE I'M GOING WITH THIS?
  23. Space would be nice. How about a space-esque dungeoneering?
  24. Chemistry A2, Biology AS, Computer Science A2, Media Studies A2, English Literature A2
