Exactly. To my knowledge, plenty of countries have 4th generation battle tanks. For example, in 2009, the Japanese government was developing a 4th generation tanks as well (now completed). So now the weaknesses of the tanks have to be fixed. For example the RPG defences that you were talking about, that was already implemented. But with research and plenty of money, it can be upgraded. Then there always those roadside bombs which need to be taken care of. If that's done, someone can have another go and invading Iraq.

That's true Rocco, but what makes you think it's even going to be like that? It's a tank. To Sere, the Federation has those ridiculous exosuit things already in production (to my knowledge). I'm pretty sure a 5th generation tank, which is actually a misleading term (it's basically upgraded 4th generation, since 4th generations were under development already), is much easier to build than something like the picture you showed everyone.

Not really. Most projects don't even cost that much. And money does not mean that you save time. That's like saying that you researched something instantly because you threw 300 billion into the project. If anything, more money would mean more development and in turn it would take more time. With a vastly superior end result.

Well it's not just a tank. There's a tank, mechanized infantry vehicle, armor upgrades, and other stuff which was still in development. Basically the modern tanks of 2009 are third-generation tanks. The aim is to build a 5th generation tank, with various things which I will PM you soon. Lots of untested and expensive technologies which will be put in. Think Manhattan Project.

Well of course it's not just "35 billion into tanks, so they own." Of course I'll talk with the other people and see what they'd like in a tank, before submitting details to Sere. 35 billion also makes things go faster. :P

Well in this game, it allows you to go farther with things. Your missles will be more effective, armor will be stronger, tracks will be faster, and you can make more of them. :thumbsup:

Well of course not. Hooray, that's good. The current budget for the uber tank project is 35 billion, with oil and iron. :thumbsup: For when it's close to completion, I can donate my defensive tech for the project, since it works well with the uber tank.

That would be fun. :P In other news, the Japanese Imperial Ubercarrier is almost completed. When it is finished, it will have been the most expensive and most powerful warship in the world, capable of holding 100 planes, 50 tanks, a mobile headquarters, dining hall, and can support 2,500 troops indefinitely by itself, assuming that the troops survive to get their rations. The carrier costed 50 billion dollars on its own, which is higher than the 8 billion for a regular supercarrier. There will only be one, and it resides in Japanese home islands. ------- To Brazil, the annexation of Africa has begun. Hope you don't get stuck in a futile land war with Abbysnia. Well the more money you throw at something, the faster it will probaly be completed and/or the better the result will probaly be. After all, there are a lot of things used in other weapons systems which haven't been used in the modern tank. In somewhat related news, Project Monarch Butterfly, the ultimate in money wasting, has expanded once again to 80 billion dollars yearly. A large naval base has been completed in Yemen and South Korea, in addition to the one near Singapore and the several in Japan already completed. A structural change has been done within the Japanese military. The navy has been chosen as the premier armed force, followed by equal land-air and land-defence forces. Each fleet has been split into several sections, called battlegroups, starting with letters then going to numbers, then names. Each battlegroup is consisted of one supercarrier, 4 frigates, 6 destroyers, varying amount of submarines, and troop transports/support, whose goal is to be able to supply 10,000 soldiers for up to a few months if necessary. Win! That means that the current yearly contribution is 30 billion, which I believe is the largest joint-project in the world at this moment? Not the biggest project though. The First Japanese Fleet has been completed. It consists of ten supercarriers, fifty frigates, fifty destroyers, and assorted submarines. Work has begun on the Second Japanese Fleet. The cost of the First Japanese Fleet was roughly 500 billion dollars, with 300 billion for the actual construction and 200 billion for research and development. The Second Japanese Fleet will cost roughly the same as the first, but all the fleets will be constantly updated with the new technologies received from the project. ^ Actually, I miscalculated. The work was supposed to have finished at the end of 2017.

Japan extends the tank project offer to Austro-Italy, SATO, and Spain. Great deal here people. If enough people contribute, it'll be a 50 billion dollar tank project, so we'll end up with the bestest tanks around. :P The buy-in is either 10 billion yearly, or 5 billion yearly and some other offering for the project.

Japan asks Franco-Germany again if it would like to work with it on a tank project. The buy in for it is either 10 billion per year, or 5 billion and some other perk.

Well the army budget, I suppose there are realistic limits based on the size and economy of your nation, but there isn't really a set limit, at least not one that I've been informed of. It seems to be ships and aircraft are included in the 1% though.

Hey, that was not a fair depiction of Japan. :P Anyways, the 1% of GDP makes perfect sense. It's smaller than the 4% used last game, to make it go slower. Health care and other stuff is covered by the rest of your budget, so if you wanted to create a national healthcare service, then you just raise taxes and you're done. It'll obviously have positives and negatives, but basically that's how it's done. The 1% is like random money which you can throw around at leisure. Besides, apparantly that wall of mines is weaker than I thought, since it doesn't really seem to mean that you can't get invaded. Using your logic though, couldn't Germany/France just build even more tanks and stuff, and then we'd have too many tanks and billion soldier battles?

I think particle weapons aren't worth it, so I won't be copying them. Meanwhile, research on the P-Jet converts into...tank research! (Mainly armoring for tanks, guns can't be improved too much). Japan offers Brazil, Romania, and Germany the oppertunity to work on a powerful tank together, or rather several different kinds of tanks. Japan hopes that the investment will be around ten billion dollars a year for each nation, or five billion and some other contribution.
