  1. Forgive me. I didn't read the article, I just presumed he had been. The point I'm making though is that the consequences of rape, both physical and mental, are far beyond many of our, including mine and probably your, understanding.

I know your point, and true rape yes those can ruin a person's life. I said that already. :P But I don't expect anybody to read all 9 pages before posting of course.

My whole point against the person that I quoted was that statutory rape isn't really rape in the way rape is...because statutory both people want it, while real rape one person is being forced and it can ruin their lives.

  2. Impaler, it's not just having sex though is it? It's being raped, which is doing it against your will. Especially worse in this case because the older women was in a position of trust. Can't you understand that that boy may grow up unable to trust someone with a sexual relationship, and therefore, will have issues regarding commitment and trust?

Ginger he wasn't raped by her.

That is a prime example of why it should not be called rape.

It is what is called statutory rape, only labeled that because one of the partners is under the age of consent, which is generally 16.

He was more than willing to participate in the sexual acts.

  3.

All of you who question weather this is rape...YES IT IS. It's STATUTORY RAPE

    Statutory rape

    (n) Statutory rape is the sexual intercourse with a minor, whether or not he/she has consented to such an action, who was neither a child nor reached the age of consent. The age of consent and age limit of a child varies from state to state.

You may not agree with the law, but it is the law. An adult cannot legally have consensual sex with someone underaged...peroid.

Thanks genius. Had you any wit, you would know that we already stated what KIND of 'rape' it is. We simply said that the word rape in a case like this, or even with statutory in front of it, has no bearing on what rape really is.

Rape is a horrible thing that can ruin somebody's life forever, statutory 'rape' is something that both people are happy for and enjoying. Hardly see the similarities in the two.

It's the law, yes. Change the name, make it fit.

How about the "It was worth it" law?

First of all, theres no need to be nasty. I was just clearing up the whole "how can a woman rape a guy?" thing. Secondly, lets see how happy this kid is in his mid 20's when he's seeing a therapist about relationship / commitment issues. May happen, may not( but probably will). Thirdly, a law is a law. Break it and pay. It may be a stupid law, but there are plenty of those. Don't like it.....get it changed.

You were derogatory and nasty in your's while you posted something that I had already posted in my counter-argument. Meaning you added absolutely nothing to the discussion and tryed to look down on people.

And I'll tell you right now, I lost my virginity at the age of 13. I'm in my 20's now and I don't regret it, and have no type of commitment issues at all.

Can you PLEASE explain to me, how having sex with somebody older than you would have anything to do with commitment issues?

Seriously, think about your posts before you type them out and hit submit, they don't even make sense.

P.S. Laws are made to be broken.

  4. LOL tom gower...priceless.

    Absolutely priceless.

That list isn't accurate at all, many people on that list weren't even close to the first 2000. Simply because so many people didn't log in during the allotted time after creating their account to be shown on that list.

I personally know I was in the top 500, but then didn't log in for a very long time because I thought the game absolutely sucked, then for some reason played again and absolutely loved it...then slowly got bored when RS2 came out.

  5. All of you who question weather this is rape...YES IT IS. It's STATUTORY RAPE

  6. Umm, there are a LOT of beggars and noobs in p2p as well as f2p.

In fact, f2p have it HARDER than p2p do. So you're arguments are odd. :-k

I know MANY pure f2p'ers that are FAR more wealthy than 95% of p2p'ers.

I know MANY MANY MANY MANY p2p'ers that are more poor than 80% of f2p'ers.

P2P and F2P have NO variation on the amount of money you have. In reality, it is harder to make more money in F2P, so they actually should get more credit.

  7. Hey, if somebody was new to the game and got one of those items they would probably be ecstatic.

And rare, you have very flawwed logic.

So you are judging f2p's 'Richness' on a random picture of some of the things in the drop box at on point in time.

I've seen the drop box look like that in MEMBERS before they moved it.

Get off your high horses, it's almost midnight, your carriage is about to turn back into a pumpkin.

  8. If you're right about the drop rates, it would take more than 4m att, str, or def xp to get ONE head. I'm no master slayer, but that sounds off to me.

Sorry if I insult your logic here, but if you know anything about drop rates, they are the same as odds.

The way odds work, is that's pretty much an average between everybody. It doesn't matter how many you kill, or how much exp you get. You could kill one and get one, you could kill 10,000,000 and not get one.

  9. To those who are complaining about the age of consent laws:

There has been research (I can find and post if necessary) done that shows that the impulse control portion of the brain isn't fully developed until a person is in their early to mid 20's. And at 13 I seriously doubt that this kid was emotionally ready to handle a sexual relationship.

Also I hate the double standard of cases like this. She will probably get off with a slap on the wrist. If it was a 13 yr old girl, the 22 yr old guy would get crucified and this story would be on every national cable and air news show

She got charged on three counts... :shame:

Its ridiculous, and I don't care to much about research on impulse control. The sex they shared was obviously not an impulse if she flew in to see him, him sending her naked pictures before hand was not an impulse.

Your argument may have seemed great in your head, though it has no real place in this conversation.

  10. I hate how people automatically accuse a game of what happens. It's the kids fault, as well as the parents fault for not noticing it at all. I say that they were lucky it wasn't some murderous male child molester. And Statutory Rape is just a way of convicting someone in a bad manner. Now if the teen is under 15 I for sure would support it, but if they're 16+ I think they have enough sense to know what's going on. Anyhow, blaming a game for a teen getting raped by some 22 year old woman is pathetic. Considering even now a days 13 year olds probably know about sex and as everything gets younger, they know more about sex at 13 probably.

It's only against the law because of a large age difference for the most part. I bet the kid was the one who led her on anyhow, but no matter what, the girl breaks the law, not the kid. Oh well, the law is flawed in lots of cases, but yes the lady did break the law (being a tad hypocritical) because it's gross, 9 year difference of age between anyone at any time is ew! And I forgot what else I was going to say -.-

    1. Good job; intelligence.

    2. My parents are 8 years apart.

9 Years isn't 'ew' ... I know many women around the age of 30 that date men in their 50's, it may seem gross to you, because you look at it in a perspective of simply 'past.' In reality as I said before, love has no boundaries, age is definitely, and shouldn't be, an issue.

Also, to the one before that said it was there to stop pedophiles etc etc. Though you're mindset is in the right place, also consider a few things.

First off, as it is right now the girl would have to prove he had sex with her in some way, therefor she already has to prove what had happened...happened.

In a real rape case, the woman has to prove she was raped. If somebody is raped, there are deep emotions embedded into them due to the trauma of the case, that it's not even a burden of proof.

In Michigan, the age of consent is 16 years old.

Also, yes I would STILL feel the same way if it was a 22 year old male and a 13 year old female. If they both consented and wanted it, though it's weird to me a little to think of a 13 year old in the manner, they obviously felt something. It is their lives, they both want it, age shouldn't limit that, 13 is the new 17.

  11. It kind of angers me that people are calling that rape.

I understand that it is legally statutory rape...but to call it rape is ridiculous in my eyes.

I guarantee he was more than willing, and a word so strong such as rape, contradicts that very statement.

Yeah it may be odd and weird and disgusting to some of you...but love has no boundaries if that's what they have...at 13 I was fully capable of making decisions like that, just as well as I can 8 years later.

I'm not saying I would ever sleep with a 13 year old, I wouldn't...that is weird to me...but they were both consenting and 13 to me isn't as young as people make it out to be these days.

  12. - when seeing any colored cape reminds you of dye being introduced in draynor, and the hundreds of people trying to make dye for a profit.

    - when you remember equiping rune armor and long sword at lvl 3 ;)

    - when you remember no one could smith rune 2h

    - when you remember r2h was worth 2m

    - when you remember no one was lvl 123

    - when you remember slivernake (if i remember correctly) autoed to 99 range and was banned (first 99 range though!)

if i remember more i'll post them later, lol.

i love thinking about the old days ^_^

almost forgot a very big one...

    - if you remember when there were 2 servers with a maximum of 250 (or was it 255?) people per server :P

Snake had two accounts, both 99 range. He was banned for autoing, then flew to jagex HQ to prove that their auto detection simply picked up his german translator as a third party program, and that he didn't really auto.

    And got un-banned. ;)

If I was 9th to 99 range does that make me old-school?

    TBH it ain't old-school if its self-declared.

  13. Apparently I dont like to think? :-k <--- =;

Pronounce: to enunciate or articulate (sounds)

    Its t3h intraw3bz..... h3 d0n't speek! H3 tiiiipez. M4ny pe0pelz kall it "skim" an "scimmy."

Sorry for getting off track, I dont like grammar... gnomes?

so tell me, where would he get the K from?

Unless he says the word to himself as Skimitar, he wouldnt get a K.

The c is silent, the word is pronounced SIMitar.

but to a person who PRONOUNCES the C, he would obreviate it Skimmy if he was a moron.

    /win

    Hmm....

I say Hawt, but I know its pronounced hot. Ever heard of having fun? Sheesh.

um, you say those 2 the exact same way....great example -.-

[omg] clip. This is so freaking funny [omg] I love you rofl, that's freakin hilarious.

That kid got owned. End of story, it's SCIMITAR not SKIMITAR. \'

No, you would pronounce hawt like ha-wwwwwt with more of a twang, you say hot just like hot. This isn't even what the topic is about, so just drop the smart guy act...

    It's actually pronounced Simiter...not Simitar.

Had to do it, only because you did it to him.

  14. Don't mind the people telling you to go outside, they have insecurity issues that they think can be solved by telling others to do something they do themselves much less than the person they are telling.

    Gets old really...

Sucks that that happened mate, had it happen to me a few years ago w/ a couple p-hats, its not humanity, just a jerk that's going nowhere in life.

  15. yea you just confused me, but im saying the chances of it being nerfed is about 60-70 percent i think

Do you not realize that you can't give a percentage that something will get nerfed, because you have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what jagex plans?

People get annoying when they think they know everything and base it on speculations of past jagex decisions on different things...all to seemingly inadvertantly put down rangers.

  16. More than half the people selling the bows refused to trade me and just kept spamming the low price they wanted...which is proof enough to me that people are just influencing the market by lieing and pretending to sell an item they don't have to lower prices.

Which is kind of like scamming IMO.

The price won't drop as low as people think, honestly I see the price going UP.

I think its funny that everybody talks "all i know is its getting nerfed"

You know nothing at all, you speculate because you have no idea what the bow is based around, that is the whole usefullness of the bow, and just because its guaranteed to hit on spec, sometime it can hit like 8 8...which wahoo how OP...takes luck to hit the BIG numbers on both arrows of the spec.

  17. many people posting here discussing about the prices always forget that this bow is a slayer monster drop. What does this mean to the prices? well, if the dark bow is similar to the abyssal whip- best bow there is(better than msb) and the droprate is also similar, there is no way the price could end up lover than the abyssal whip. Why? Only 90+ slayers can kill dark beasts, and if they do, they are doing it only for the money- and if dark beasts were LESS profitable than abyssal demons, not a single soul would bother killing dark beasts.

So no- the bow will never be cheap- it probobly wont ever even drop below 2m, unless ofcource there will be a better bow. It will be just like the beloved abyssal whip- only few could buy them at the beginning, but as time went past, they kept lowering and lowering, they still do, but no- it will still never be a cheap bow.

On the topic- what is whip used for? everything that envolves meleeing- what will be dark bow used for- everything that envolves ranging.

Excuse the pun but your waay off target. A requirement will make the bow obviously more POWERFUL then the MSB (the spec will be up for debate in the PK deparement). But it will not be better then the C bow or x bow in terms of stats.

The price will be high but only because of the small amount in the game. Dark bow will only be useful for training and possibly castlewars and minigames. It will be the best, non-costly bow in the game, but from its look it's a longbow, and who the heck uses long bows #-o

First off, don't judge a bow by its concept art...your points are hilarious.

That would be like people arguing, when the whip came out, if they did it this way and told us it was coming...that whip can't be better than dragon dagger because its gotta be the fastest, and who uses whips anyways?

Here, I will personally GUARANTEE you it will be the best pking bow...and almost every archer will protect it over whatever they choose to wear with it.

  18. Decent story and all, but the reason people are laughing at you because of changing your password is...

If he was a 'hacker' as you say, a REAL hacker he would get it even if you changed it. If he had keylogged you to get it he would get it even after you changed it...

Not only the fact of that but just because he was trying to lure you would make you change it, if he wanted your items and could hack, he wouldn't waste his time trying to lure.

    :)

  19. I do see his point, and it is a valid one. In knight online with the new expansion set to launch in a week or two, there is a monster that can only be taken with a few partys *8 men in each party* of some of the highest levels possible in the game *will be level 80, which takes a LONG time to achieve*, and the best items.

He has a very valid point that RS needs some monsters that ACTUALLY need a WHOLE TEAM of a lot of people to kill, rather than something that will eventually be solo'd.

Though we are comparing much more advanced game to a java based game, so give them some credit there.
