  1. What happens in ISE, spreads to all corners of TIF. ^also, three-way
  2. H2PM is not the Evil Twin and Zeno is now the German Harpy.
  3. I've been downloading legally purchasing Doctor Who this entire day. After twelve hours, it was 6% complete. Two and a half hours later, it's done. wtf?
  4. Hey now, you knew someone was going to do it.
  5. I used to be annoyed at these jokes like you...
  6. We did it faster :twss: Story of my life.
  7. Both regular life and harpy life are amazing. Nothing troubling going on in regular life (I consider that amazing) and we have recruited a lot of harpies recently.
  8. I didn't realize it was Sonikku's birthday today!
  9. I made an omelet this morning!
  10. Well Armorare, after finishing Season 2 of Doctor Who, I've come to the conclusion that the Doctor has no clue what the [bleep] is going on. Ever.
  11. Might be inappropriate. In harpy terms, very inappropriate.
  12. Oh no boys, looks like we got ourselves some fresh meat. Or whatever it is harpies eat.
  13. That moment when the harpy blog goes from it's most active week, to constant 3 hour period between posts.
  14. I like how the Doctor is a badass who fixes everything, but he still get scared, doesn't know everything, and thinks he might lose sometimes. As opposed to House who is a god apparently.
  15. As far as I know, you can hit a button to go back to the menu as well.
  16. Watched the Doctor Who episode with the black hole yesterday. Pretty intense. Tennant is starting to grow on me as well.

Maybe it's because I only look at two threads in OT . I don't recall seeing him in here since the last time he came back.
  18. Best part of writer's block is getting out of it. I wish I had a talent for writing, but I'll just stick to math and science.
  19. Meh, I never visit the serious sections of OT, so I can't really make an opinion. I don't go to forums for serious discussion. The only reason I can tolerate this is because there's harpy nonsense in the middle.
  20. Seriously, where's Tripsis and the rest of the Mods when we're actually having a real discussion that doesn't involve harpies, penises, and crude, sexual jokes about Mere. @Vezon: Most of the "fixes" for our system are already implemented by other countries. I believe the "trade school or university" system is in place in some European countries (I want to say Norway and Germany, but don't hold me to that). Afaik, we're the only country with a NCLB program, and it doesn't exactly help. Considering that America was once considered the best country on Earth, it's just appaling to see such a flawed system.
  21. Btw, someone should have created a topic about this on OT before we started taking it here.
  22. It doesn't seem like anyone is going towards any solutions either. Their just hoping that eventually it'll figure itself out, and it won't. The main problem that I have is that the system isn't even helping the bottom rung of students it was designed to help. Most of these kids are going to end up in a working industry; something that doesn't take too much higher education (construction, etc.). But under the current system, these students are getting absolutely no job training. Why does that D student need English? He's not going to be a writer. Prepare him for work in the industry, so he can walk out of this place with a sense of direction and some skills. A lot of the graduating class has no idea where to go after high school. All they've been prepared for is the next year of school, the next years of school, and so on, until their thrown out into the world. My Econ/History teacher's solutions: Get rid of NCLB. It's almost entirely useless. It's a waste of resources that could be used to further academics in our country. It also makes it damn near impossible to fail. If a child is going to fail, do you know what most teachers are instructed to do? Pass them. Not hold them back until they are ready, just straight up pass them. This child keeps floating through school because no one's pushing him. In the end, he ends up with no ambition, no intelligence, and most importantly, no skills. Was this the goal of NCLB? Also, he brought up the fact that it is actually unconstitutional. Apparently education is a state right, and they are not allowed to set a national reform for education. So there's that. Another solution: trade schools. When you're 16 or so, you can choose whether or not you want to enter the work force, or continue pursuing education. Go to college, or learn some skills and do something with your life. Covers basically every group of students except for the failures, who were bound to fail anyway.
