Did you even read the thread? Yes, read it before I posted and then again, more carefully just now. Nowhere does anyone encourage inefficiency beyond advocating enjoyment rather than total efficiency.

This happened to me except it was a project due near the end of the semester. I never did it but got a 101 (extra credit was possible if it looked nice).

That reminds me. I need to stop being lazy.

Because this would effect our lives almost immediately, whereas the problems you mentioned wouldn't have an impact for a while. Also, not everyone understands those problems (I sure as hell don't), and we just put our trust in the government to use their best judgement for us. I don't like this blind faith approach that the majority of people take. I want to know what is going on and who is doing what.
