  1. What? I'll agree with Arma and Sara, but if you do Bandos, it's not easy to find spawns. Neither is finding 2 empty spawns for TD's. It's usually pretty easy for DK's to find a completely empty world, but I'm pretty intent on finding worlds with a specific number of people so that my spawns are timed right. So when I come across a world with the right number of people, if there's a solo mager in there, I'll probably crash him. You kinda ignored my part about not liking bandos in the first place. From what it seems like, you don't even bother to hop worlds a couple times (lets say 5 for an easy number) to find an empty DK world. True? Also, I'd like to know why exactly you can't bend your timing just by a little bit. Also, I'm curious; what's this magical population size you search for exactly? What style of DKing do you prefer as well? I never have to wait for DK spawns on a 1-1.1k pop world using my method of choice. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but, I think you're taking the stance that suggests that crashing the first world you find is more efficient than actually taking 5 minutes to hop/check 5-6 worlds per scout. I highly doubt that. The rate you would burn up supplies having to out-damage another person for an hour usually is higher than dropping DKs without bother for 55 minutes. -Ry
  2. Crashing - such a horrible headache. It's why I don't like people calling bossing as "PvM". PvM is effectively a cross between PvP and MHing (monster hunting). Not only do I have to kill the boss, I have to out-damage you as well. If it's in the DK lair, then I might have to kill you in self-defense. I'm a 138 player, with overloads and the top tier gear. Does this make me a crasher looking for fresh blood? No. It doesn't. What I don't get is why there's a population of high combat morons that NEED to crash. I'm able to find an empty world on a Friday night at GWD, DKs, or what have you, with ease. (This is my rant against high level crashers.) Surely by the time you've reached 138 combat, you should have a collection of friends that frequent bosses. I have an order which nearly always guarantees me access to a world. 1) Hop to look for empty world. 2) Ask friends if they're at the same boss and nearing the end of their trip. 3) When hopping worlds, ask the current team/individual if they're almost done. If I have to wait like 5 minutes for a team to leave, then I'll wait 5 minutes. 4) If a team acts like jerks when you ask them about their time left, then remember that world. It'll possibly come in handy later. 5) If you still cannot hop to an empty, non-200+ ping, non-pvp/bh world (wow), then go back to that world with the jerk(s) on it. Good luck. I don't know about the OP, but not all of us 138s get 138+gear for the sole purpose of crashing. What really gets to me is when you guys show up at zil in veracs and chaotic maul at arms... while I'm just having some fun with my community by barraging zil while everyone else ranges/melees. Just for the crashers that get off by doing that, I pack a set of veracs for you guys - don't worry. Also, I just don't really recommend going to team-based bandos. There are way too many people with 70+ strength. Enough said. One last point - to the person who said 138s are jaded and worn-out from getting 138 combat/gear - you're looking at the glass the wrong way. A crasher is always a crasher - regardless of their level. P.S. I always find that a little karma goes a long way. -Ry
  3. This point is false. You can melee Kree - just not with any chaotic weapon. -Ry
  4. It seems that you can get onyx rings from WCing. -Ry
  5. yup, friends lists and ignore lists are down, and clan chats only work if you are in the same world as the owner. hiscores and ad log are messed up also Oh wow. Maybe that's part of the new update? It explains why onyx crashed so hard. Time to watch onyx rings crash. -Ry
  6. You really should have let them stay. I kinda killed them to stop a possible coup d'etat. Oops. Oh well - they'll respawn shortly. -Ry
  7. My first post on TIF - this should be interesting. First off, I'd like to note that bots are nothing really to get flustered over. They perform mundane tasks with a strict logic structure that may easily be confused. For instance, one could place a green dragonhide on the floor on the other side of a portal in the Chaos Tunnels. The bots will all flock there and you could steal the kill. Also, why hasn't anyone considered facilitating to the needs of crafters/prayer-trainers of a higher caliber? Seriously, get out of the CT and go lockpick for some Raurg/Ogre bones or kill any non-green dragon (even Brutal Greens down in the whirlpool dungeon). More XP for you, and people who are willing to spend more to train their buyable skills will gladly help you get more GP. Second, I forget who exactly it was on this thread, but some mod gave me the impression that they thought that all "rich, high levels" wanted every "poor, low level" to stay poor. This is simply not true. I'm a 138 with 2100+ overall and a 500M bank (just grabbed 99 prayer/herblore via dragon bones and overloads, respectively). If any "poor, low level" wants to make money by chopping oak trees for money, then I won't go powerchop the oak trees west of Varrock down just so he/she cannot make any money. On the contrary, I want them to chop and sell as many logs as they can. They could even run those oak logs to the plank-maker to profit even more. If they feel compelled to sell those oak planks on the GE, then I'm fine with that. If they want to train their construction, then they should do it. Third, slayer is a decent way to make money if you're burnt out from your usual RS addiction. I don't personally care for the XP/hr or GP/hr ratio while I'm slaying. I slay to take a break from bossing while still killing things. If I want to just sit back and chat to my friends on RS, then I'll opt to skill instead. Yes - even we 138s mine, woodcut, and fish from time to time. I'll even do it if it's not THE BEST XP/hr. I'll fish for some sharks instead of using the Barbarian-style powerfishing technique. Last, I would like to note that I started out like everyone else. A level 3 with 34 overall - fresh from Tutorial Island with some basic tools. I remember mining and smithing copper bars, mining 1k rune essence (for my first "real" cashpile of 20k), spinning flax into bowstrings en masse and even getting lured into wilderness with my only set of full mithril armor. I remember when GWD first came out, and I tried the Zamorak boss. I didn't know Kril was on me and he swiftly killed me with several blows. I lost a large majority of my bank since graves didn't exist and someone looted my death-pile. I skilled to get the GP for the gear back. I've been there - done that. Overall, I'm asking some individuals to not demonize higher levels who hunt bosses and slay for their leisure. I promote the idea that lower levels should take the initiative to switch from the "most efficient" mainstream method of making GP and change your methodology. With the playing style of RS, we, collectively, cannot whine enough to stop the bots. On the other hand, we should stop "following the crowd" via swearing by publicly posted guide which outline a method to it's bare bones and try something new. My thoughts.
