  1. Rimmington mine, Port Sarim watersink + deposit soft clay in box on docks. As F2P, you can better have soft clay on bank than 4 types of urns. Make what you need on that moment. Varrock got a potteryshop next to Aubury's cheap runes. There's a deposit box in port sarim? I still think the guild would be faster if there is a box; you can make everything from scratch in one place, making what you need at the moment. Does anyone know of any great uses for the new canoes? I know the Wildy one is great for the Forinthy dungeon, and getting quickly to deep Wildy. Edgeville is sort of useful for low-level Wildy and the Edgeville bank. The Lumbridge one is sort of useful for a quick prayer recharge – it’s fairly close to an altar, making it much easier to get than other f2p altars. The Barbarian Village one is fairly close to the urn-making spot, and is good for getting to Varrock. The Champions Guild spot is fairly useless. The Lumbridge one is closest to a teleport (Home tele), right? (Excepting the sceptre teleport.) Also, does anyone know whether you need the crafting levels to attach the rune? I read somewhere that you need to do this, but I doubt it since there's obviously a market for urns. I do have the crafting levels to make all the urns; I was just wondering. An answer please :( Also, do the smelting urns work with Superheat? Runewiki says it does. Why would you do that? What could possible merit spending that much time getting smithing xp for a quarter of it back? Smithing xp is hard to come by; especially in f2p. It's either expensive or it's slow. The upcoming smithing update could fix that... The only skills you could sanely spend that on is prayer and runecrafting. RC's highest f2p requirement is... the lumbridge diary Hard. So is prayer. I grant that prayer, at least, is pretty useful, but I'm not really that big on combat.
  2. Actually you don't even get an extra (fourth) charge. The ER4 still only gives you 3. So unless you would take advantage of the food hamper in Lumbridge, or the ring's ability to superheat and high-alch a few times a day, then no, it's not worth it. ^^ Doing tasks are never a bad idea - (that is if you already have the requirements) It's a nice change of pace and the rewards for doing individual tasks are pretty nice - I try to incorporate some as I do things nearby. Additionally, if I'm really bored of menial things like fishing or crafting or casting a bajillion high alchs - I find that doing tasks serves as a nice break. 68 Smithing and a pretty high RC level? Um no.

  4. I disagree with the idea that we could have just "waited" for merched items to crash. It would often be a week or so before the item would come down, and the things is, under the old system, you could try harder. Try as you might, you couldn't get past the 5% limit with the old GE. Besides, this is a game. We play games in order to avoid these idiosyncrasies. TS Stormrage's position on this small bit of his article is wrong, I find most of it right (except for the bit in the next sentence about trade limit expansions; can you really count that as a beneficial aspect brought about by the removal of free trade?). He should have said "this is a problem, but free trade isn't the only solution" - like he said for many other arguments. I agree, however, with other people's points regarding the bias and tone of this article. For example, gifting items was left out, as was previously mentioned. Finally, the tone is accusatory.
  5. There are a bunch of willows that aren't crowded at all in a resource dungeon, but I'm not sure how fast it is to get to it. It might be better to just burn them immediately after cutting.
  6. I have no idea why, but "green dragonhide set" yields no results. A week ago it worked fine. Some prices are messed up. For example, look at the greatest loss list. Diamond bolts (e) are now free?
  7. I know I'm out of place (an 850 total f2per in this thread? lolwut) but to reiterate what I heard someone say in hyt chat, it seems that the total resistance to each combat style is what's in effect. So that would include not only prayer, but magic levles.

What do you mean by make my own team? Find a bunch of reliable people?
  9. Now that I think of it, why don't they seed a pseudo-random number generator with their current ids?
  10. Not to hijack or anything, but is this possible in f2p?

"As keymaster, you should own all of the keys on a floor. Nothing messes up this role more than having four different players all carrying different keys and nobody knowing who has what. That doesnt mean you necessarily have to always have all of them in your personal backpack. In fact, there will be times when it makes sense for someone else to grab a key from a room or take a key to unlock a door in part of the dungeon. But you should know where all of the currently outstanding keys are. If someone else gets a key, ask them to drop it at home or when you next meet up with them. Some players will react negatively to your being possessive of the keys. Simply explain that you need to keep track of all of the keys to ensure you can unlock doors quickly when they are found. Most decent players will understand that you are being anything but selfish. If they dont, then just offer to let someone else do the task, because if you cant rely on players to keep you informed about keys and where they are, this role is a real nightmare. Its not a bad idea to ask once or twice during the raid if anyone has any keys. Ive heard many tales of teams where a lot of time was wasted being stuck because some player had a key in his/her inventory and forgot about it." Quoted from The RuneScoop Ultimate Skill Guide - Dungeoneering. So basically you're saying the keyer should have all the keys in his backpack, except for the keys to the doors which have been gated by other team members, in which case the Well, the only part of that that concerns me is the ggs (I'm f2p, remember). Isn't it a lot better to just drop a piece of food? In f2p often we carry along 8 or more pieces of food; we don't need to worry about charms, herbs, bags, potions, or anything like that. Well, I'm a hoster. It's really annoying too, I can only get people with like 110 cb (I'm 67.). What's up with that?! I've had more experience with people not realizing I've intended to hand over the ggs. Anyways, yah, I don't have the rc level for laws, but most people I dung with do have personal gatestones. w7 does like to kill more than members, but I'd say it's reasonable. It can be a pain to constantly run though monsters which can deal a lot of damage to f2p. w7 usually skips mini-boss style npcs with t8 or above armor. So how would I find an efficient team that uses keyers in f2p? I only dung occasionally.

Well then said idiots wouldn't listen to a keyer. Why is it more effective for one person to, I presume, be ultra-focused and try to stay on top of several doors and their locations, when each person can gate a door? Of course multiple people gate doors.. However 1 person should keep a good survey over what keys are available and what doors are currently gated. - That is the task of a keyer. And by having all keys in inventory, other people can easily scout him. If everyone keeps keys, the dungeoneering team would become a mess and you'll quickly loose track over what keys are where! That makes more sense. I still think that if you've gated a door, it makes good sense for you to take the key for that door. By the way, if someone's gated a door and the key is found, what happens? Does the keyer give the key to the person who gated the door?
  13. This is f2p cooking. It sort of depends on what you're cooking; if you very rarely burn then you can use the willow fires people light in the GE. Else, go use a range like the ones mentioned below

Why don't players gate key doors and move the ggs themselves whenever the key for their key door is found?

I've never understood keyers. What exactly are they for? Also, if the responses would take into account f2pers, it would be appreciated.
  17. I have one: use the ggs on a team member to give it.
  18. You can just stand around edgeville and pick up trout and salmon. They're good for general purpose food in f2p, and training. Plus, all the food is in a pile.
  19. Well, it feels sort of clunky. As a specific example, 3.7 and 7.1 are near copies of each other.
  20. Now the GE Centre is bugging out on me again. This is on the main page, not even the page with the search suggestions -.- EDIT: Main GE Centre page is working, search suggestions no longer work. EDIT2: Lovely. I was running rs with no lag while doing this.
  21. Your guide has really grown into its own, and I commend you for it. Its certainly more complete than many others. However, I see some redundancies, and navigating it can be tiresome at best. Perhaps a total reorganization is in order?
  22. I just had dinner and came back, and the first thing I type "grimy irit" triggers a 403. I'm guess because every single keystroke sends a packet for search suggestions, when I finally click the result I get a 403. I suggest providing a way to disable search suggestions altogether, or at least increase the time threshold. I've literally just this minute added a 300 millisecond delay between you typing and it suggesting which should pretty much solve the issue unless you're a really slow typer. Yay, thanks. Nice sig, too. How come this issue hasn't come up before? EDIT: Why in Guthix's name do we have "Whiteberry seeds" and "White Berries"?! Surely we could standardize the spacing?

  24. Today something seems wrong; once in a while I can't reach the forums and a good percentage of the time when I click one of the suggested items using the GE Centre "add item" box I get a HTTP 403. Anyone know why this is happening? I've been doing pings and tracerts; every couple pings all 4 packets time out.
  25. Actually, I've never played a dungeon where everything is cleared with w7 randoms. More often than not, mini-boss toughness monsters (take that level 120 celestial mage we once met) are skipped, dead ends are skipped, and rooms that lead only to members doors are skipped. F2P generally has lower levels, so not all of us have access to protection prayers. Heck, I just got them, (43 prayer. Ironically enough, in a dungeon.) Finally, killing monsters yields supplies (besides food). The rune essence can really pile up, and the coins are nice. Bags can be alched. Bryll, roseblood, and dromoleather drops are very useful for mages and rangers. Bones used on an altar actually can compete with killing monsters normally (obviously does not compete with bought bones). W7 people do know how to gate... well at least with higher levels, at least 3 in a team of 5 do. I'm sort of surprised, somehow I get multiple 110+ cb whenever I host a team, even though I'm 67 cb! Btw, how come you can't trade the ggs? And finally... the food has been mentioned, but for f2p it can get extreme. Last dungeon I did, it was a 167 Lexicus, and I prepared an entire inventory of dusk eels - 26 of them (binds). I actually had to gate out, run out and pick up another whole stack just to survive.
