  1. I hope this is the right place for this, please move it if it isn't.

I have this google spreadsheet that calculates the minimum time someone has left until getting 200m in all skills Here. 1 sheet has the actual calculator on it which cannot be edited by people. The 2nd sheet just has a cell that people can put names into so the calculator can lookup their current xp.

The final time figure appears on the 1st sheet and it is a bit tedious to switch between sheets when I'm checking the top 15 players.

I'd like to just put in a code "=Time_calc!C2" onto the 2nd sheet so that people dont have to flick between sheets.

So the problem I have is that people like to destroy things and I know if I put that code there it would just be deleted.

So I'm wondering if it's possible to disallow people from editing 1 cell on an entire sheet that they can edit. Either that or allow them to edit 1 cell on a whole sheet that they aren't allowed to edit.

If it's possible could someone please tell me how it can be done :)

    Thankyou in advance.

  2. Link of the tracker please, thai?

With all the talks of the virtual scores and virtual times left till all 200mils / 5bil exp for someone implying pretty good / maximum efficiency in order to get there, I am surprised that no one has brought up the point of how Capping your exp in a skill at 200mil is pretty inefficient, given your larger and grander goal in the longer long run.

Now don't get me wrong. I am in NO WAY saying you should stop training a skill x % before 200mil, say at 195mil or whatever. I would much rather have that solidified and locked in rank there myself when I did all that work and put in all that time to be so close. However, at the same time, you can't overlook the fact that for example, all the teleporting you will do still at 200mil mage could have very much added up over the grand scheme of things. Leaving you hours less, maybe even days less of training that you would have had to actually "train" to get said skill to 200mil.

Just some food for thought. ;)

This is true. For dungeoneering it is best to stop when you have enough tokens to max but not to spend the tokens yet. Because if you needed another chaotic you'd have to dg when already at 200m.

Some skills will only be effected by capping them if you do quests afterwards and miss rewards. Skills that have ongoing xp gains like runecrafting (genie lamps) and agility (shortcuts) should be stopped before 200m but for the majority of the skills it doesn't matter (except with quests).

  3. Another time update :)

Some of the ranks might be wrong because of all the rank swaps since langer's update.

Paperbag's buyable xp really shows up, he has recently passed gert and is no longer last.

Zarfot is still surprisingly high up even though he's been inactive for several months.

I added in Dragonseance because people have been talking about him so you can put him in perspective with others.

This is the last time I am going to say this. There are 3 reasons I use max rates.

    1. It is interesting to see peoples' minimum time left.

    2. You can't measure how lazy someone is so xp rates vary from person to person

    3. If I was to choose an average rate for example firemaking being 450k/hr. Someone would say "no its closer to 430k" then someone else would say "no I easily average 460k" and there would be a constant debate.

Please don't reply to anything inside the hidden part.

    [/hide]

  4. Seriously you are making this into a way bigger deal than it needs to be. The 134k figure was to give people a rough idea of how good lava needs to be if it is to be the next best method. All the little things you pointed out will only change the result by a few k. If people are trying to predict the xp rate of lava they aren't going to say "I think it might be more than 134k" and then when the figure changes by a few k "There is no chance it is going to be 136k".

Now if anyone still wants to discuss it. Do you think lava might be the new best method for mining?

  5. [hide]Edited this into my last post while you were replying to it

Also they are completely different types of speculation. There is evidence to back up the 85k/hr but no evidence to suggest what the xp rate of lava is.

If you call 85k/hr speculation then any "fact" that someone tells you can be speculated and the word loses meaning when you use it.

And that was not why I edited my post.[/hide]

This speculation talk is off topic. We can continue to talk about it in pm if you want.

On topic: Does anyone think that lava can be better than superheating gold?

  6. all you do is speculate, how can you say you dont care, your mining 100k/h is a speculation from what you said, you speculate perfect rates that include help from other people (someone banking for you), and the thing i think you should speculate, mistakes, you don't...

and now you just say people don't care when speculating? so you don't care on what you do? im confused now . . . .

    Speculation is about the unknown.

Maybe you should re read and get a dictionary if you are confused.

You said english isn't your language so maybe you should read this http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/speculate

    i did

    found this on http://www.thefreedictionary.com/speculate

    2. To engage in a course of reasoning often based on inconclusive evidence

    now let's check your frase:

"Someone told me that 85k was the max, that was before urns. Urns normally give about a 20% bonus"

    1) someone told me <- inconclusive

    2) urns NORMALLY give about <- inconclusive

so you just assume some numbers, without knowing if they are valid, so your speculating the rate.

    1) Lol well if you can't trust anyone for any information then I feel sorry for you.

    2) You don't understand fully how urns work. I said normally/about because if I said "do" then someone would say "no dats rong dey give 19.989%"

Also they are completely different types of speculation. There is evidence to back up the 85k/hr but no evidence to suggest what the xp rate of lava is.

If you call 85k/hr speculation then any "fact" that someone tells you can be speculated and the word loses meaning when you use it.

  7. all you do is speculate, how can you say you dont care, your mining 100k/h is a speculation from what you said, you speculate perfect rates that include help from other people (someone banking for you), and the thing i think you should speculate, mistakes, you don't...

and now you just say people don't care when speculating? so you don't care on what you do? im confused now . . . .

You must be confused now because english isn't your first language, because I did not contradict what i said lol.

  8. ^Yes thanks that is obvious now. I calculated 134k before knowing there was new mining boosting clothing don't hate me for not traveling back in time and telling myself that there is xp boosting clothing.

well english it's my language, but math is

when you say any m>134, and i say "not any m" im negating all, so i'm trying to say that there is at least one m higher than 134k that will make what you said false

so perhaps if m=135k, and calculating the new max xp at lrc (with bonus xp from cloths), maybe your claim will be false, hope you understand what i'm trying to say now

I calculated the 134 value so people could speculate and decide if they think its likely for a new place to have an xp rate that high. No one cares about 434xp when they are just speculating. If I was comparing the 2 methods and lava was actually 134k then the 434xp would matter but atm that kind of detail is unimportant.

The only time I have had to compare methods with such presision was for comparing the adze and axe for woodcutting.

  9. I'm not sure what you are saying but at lrc you get 100k mining and 73k smithing per hour.

Has anyone actually tested that? I can see how you could potentially get 100k mining per hour, but if you're superheating and dropping too, rather than just low alching, I find that having your invent full of urns leads to you often ending up with a full invent and spending time not mining. Also, does your rate include the time taken to bank and collect more urns/titans?

Every single one of Thai-Longs xp estimates are Unrealistic - They are perfect tick xp rates for an hour(thoereticly) I take no rate that he says seriously. Always take 10-15% off.

Yea I'd come to the same conclusion. I'd actaully be quite interested to see his explanation of how he arrives at the 100k xp figure, would you mind explaining Thai?

Someone told me that 85k was the max, that was before urns. Urns normally give about a 20% bonus but since extra ores from the varrock armour don't fill up the urns it is only a 17.6% bonus which is 15k. My rate does include banking time for more urns because you pay someone 50k to bring you urns, titan pouch and a summoning pot.

-Miricleman I encourage you to take off 15% for your own use instead of telling me to take off 15%.

you say any m>134 will sufice for that being better than lrc, i say that probably not any m will do... with the bonus for mining outfit - similar to lumberjack - the mining xp at lrc will increase, so your math will be wrong (at least assuming best rates will be, thing you allways do)... and other thing i wanted to you to calculate is when we know the bonus for each piece, and things like that, time saved in mining at lrc + extra time at solo smith to finish up smit and time for outfit and compare with your actual rates nowadays

I don't get why you say that no value for m will be high enough. Clearly if its 150k/hr then m is high enough. A 2.5% bonus only adds 2k to the xp rate so the required m does not change much.

p.s your writing is very difficult to understand.

  10. not that, gold ore will be for sure better, just saying the only mat needed to do is when released, calculate time for outfit, without the top, and then see if its a good time investement, or just ignore the update. don't forgetting for new xp rates, with outfit and gold ore, you will need to use more hours for solo smith to compensate, and so on...

and even for your math for 134k/hr i don't know if you factored the xp bonus from outfit at gold ore, and so on, think probably will need more than 134k/h to be better... if you know what i mean

Doing math before the release is good for speculation. I have no idea what you mean by "outfit" because I haven't done the quest, unless by outfit you mean gold smithing gauntlets.

m does need to be more than 134k to be better that's why m>134

  11. Prayer isn't such an "easy" 200m for suomi because he needs to spend lots of time making cash so it might not be such a massive xp/hr.

I wonder if this new lava mining thing is going to be any good. Although it needs to be 134k/hr to be better than gold/superheat assuming you only get mining xp at the lava river.

not that math you will need to make, but if the time spent for outfit for bonus at gold, and then calculate more time at solo smith will be better then just mining/superheat

I'm not sure what you are saying but at lrc you get 100k mining and 73k smithing per hour. If lava is the new best method for mining with an xp rate of "m" then

    100/m + 73/285 < m/m

    100/m < 0.744

    m > 134

285k is the smithing xp rate of addy plates.

  13. Wow lots of rank changes this week.

Just a side note theres 131 people with maxed dungeoneering and 264 with maxed cooking.

Lol pretty impressive even with people speculating the decrease in dungeoneering xp, I still predict in the coming years for dungeoneering to have a greater amount of 200m xp's than cooking.

I find it strange that the number of 99 dung'ers hasn't overtaken runecrafting by now (although it is pretty close). But I think the biggest reason more people are getting 200m dg is because they get to 120 then realise they are already half way and they have the tougher half done.

Elias is about to reach the 2,5B mark.

Suomi and Tezz are about to swap ranks.

Elvis and Drumgun are also about to swap ranks.

Kingduffy will grab rank 11 monday or tuesday from Gertjaars.

Jdelacroix is unliocking spells at livid farm. A little "star" told me he was aiming for the ubercape.

Tezz stopped fletching for a bit to get 1m mage xp. He has since gone back to fletching, but maybe he is thinking about going for the 78m summon xp he needs by barraging rock lobs.

He was probably alching all the yew longs he made :P

  14. tg is 50m from entering the top 15 so he should tke 15th place from lan in 6-9 days

The next few years will make the game only easier, the most efficient thing to do would be to do buyables/dungeoneering and wait

Nah just log in twice each year for bonus xp :P

  15. What's the ratio of Agility:Fishing xp for barb fishing? cbf to go find it in this thread somewhere lol.

Just about 1:11 or 1:13.2 with urns included

From a 1051 fish test at 93 fishing+ granite lob

I don't think Suomi will slow down before he gets 200m all. :P

There are a few things that could force suomi to quit

  16. "Orton" might be a contender (in the future). Has 200M Mining (like 30mish smith and 50m magic so didn't do the trio but if he merches he can do it fast with addy or rune plates and barraging crabs or something. Currently he's getting like 8m cook xp per day. :)

omg 8m cocking xp/day so impressive

    hmg, 10-11 hr/day

    must be no-lifer!

Pro botting no lifer all at the same time.

  17. Why would you un-note as opposed to fetching from bank?

Is it faster to un-note items?

I was just saying that he relights after giving the butler logs to un note which slow him down. Paying the butler has the same effect. If he could avoid relighting then it would definately be better than varrock.

EDIT: I'm not sure that those questions are directed at me but you quoted what I said.
