things wrong in that spreadsheet: Magic Xp rate is infinite because you do NOT need to waste time training Magic, not 400k. Cooking Xp rate is 720k, not 700k. Construction Xp rate is 800k, not 750k. Prayer Xp rate is 950k, not 1000k. Fletch Xp rate is infinite because you do NOT need to waste time training Fletch, not 1000k.

The sheet is designed to work with any combination of stats, thus people with 200m wcing will not get free fletching xp, so the fletching xp/h is needed. If however you have enough time to get 200m fletching before maxing WCing the function will know that and you will do 0 hours of fletching. The same holds true for magic, so those two rates are needed. As for the other xp/h's you can squabble over that.

    I can see your point.

But you can train fletching and magic while wc/fish/cmb/hunter/farming/agil without losing Xp in that skills. I guess you understand what I mean with this.

EDIT: Even if the player have that skills maxed, it's possible (atleast I can do it) to fletch 30 bolts per tick. That would be 210 xp per tick with adamant bolts. And... 1260k xp/h

fletch/magic xp gained in 1 hour during those skills? I found it pretty impossible to alch at cave crawlers with all the other clicking - mainly picking up charms and loading cannon.

  2. I was going to do this after langer's update but got impatient lol

Hours left for the top 15.

I can't find the page that I last did this on. Someone tried some other players in the calc who ended up being in the top 15.

If any times increased its because I changed a few things.

  3. 0phathead0 - from what I've seen, Dragonseance is not a nice person (so that can't be why you support him), is miles behind the competition (so that can't be either) and isn't catching up either (so nor can that). So why on earth..?

As for the farm thing - am I right in thinking that the only reward that is actually worth getting is the pouch repair one?

What about the summoning one for faster kills at cave crawlers? Do purple sweets work for the combat boost?

EDIT: or for slayer of course

  4. With 99 fishing and a granite lobster, it is base 45k/hr and 50k if you don't lose any time banking by being "too AFK."

Rocktails aren't bad for your AFKing time, but Ivy is the best if you can use the woodcutting exp.

    Bake Pie (Summer Pies)>Ivy>Rocktails.

0.83>0.54>0.42 the effciency rates of their 'grinding' equivalents. Based upon Wines,Pines and Purple Sweet Barb, for each of the respective skills.

Note: Thats assuming you don't have cooking brawlers to use with wines and you don't value magic exp from pies. Also presume your using Dragon Hatchet instead of Adze at Pines.

However Pies may not be as 'AFK'-able as Rocktails and even less so when it comes to Ivy,they do still allow for 45 seconds of down time, exluding banking.

The magic exp (from pies) holds some value too, since if I recall correctly Lrc(superheating the ores on the road to 200m mining) doesn't quite get you 200m magic.

Even a top player has to AFK(better than hitting that logout button).

    +1

  5. Elias just flew through 20m prayer xp and is now level 120. It seemed as though he was going to do that with herb for a bit, but then he moved on to prayer, so I suspect he is waiting for supplies to buy for 120 herb, but that is just a hunch.

I think foot could become a contender in the distant future seeing as he comes up with, or at least demos, a lot of the optimal training methods, but I suppose it all has to do with what his goals are.

Suomi is still slaying away working on another 1m+ day. He also beat chilly's monthly slayer record by 2m and he didn't have 400+ effigies saved up. Pretty impressive. Also his 8m weekly record is probably pretty close to max for a week with out saving up points/effiges.

Tezz is still fletching/fming while waiting for teams at dugeon.

And Telmo is closing in on 50m hunter.

    foot will burnout

    Impossible :P

I also noticed he beat the max wc rate at pines I had found from 130k to 140k (146k with d axe)

  6. From BTS:

"Dying in RuneScape will become slightly less painful later this month as we introduce the concept of Limbo. If you die in any unsafe, non-PVP area, you will be prompted to choose which items you retain (following the existing rules for how many items you keep on death); also, certain types of items will always be kept on death – most notably coins, but also most quest-specific items and common, low-value items such as tinderboxes, fishing rods and the like.

You will then be given a choice of where you respawn – be that any of the respawn points you’ve unlocked (i.e. Lumbridge, Falador, Camelot or Soul Wars) or the last respawn ‘hub’ you passed through (typically, the last major settlement you visited). Once you have respawned, you’ll be free to hunt down your gravestone to attempt to retrieve those items you did not keep.

Please note that the death mechanic used in the Wilderness and other dangerous PvP activities will not be changing from how it currently is, other than that your most valuable items will be decided by their Grand Exchange guide price, not their alch value."

"Poor Pauline Polaris, utterly charmed by Lokar, has been left to tend the Livid Farm on Lunar Isle. Help her out by using your lunar spells to fertilise the soil, cure the livid, bunch them together, fix fenceposts and energise Pauline, and you will receive Magic, Farming, Crafting, Construction and Agility XP for doing so. The Livid Farm is ideal for those looking to train a number of skills at once, and is fast-paced, with the plants growing and being harvested in a matter of seconds."

Will Lunar Farm speed up some Agility and Farming? Will this first update make it so rich players who slack off while chinning monkeys, for instance, will face no consequences?

The second update sounds good, but the first sounds rubbish.

Oh they put the non joke bts in already?

" is ideal for those looking to train a number of skills at once" <-- new pro training method coming :P

  7. Update of the top 5 (expect the top 15 on saturday the 2nd of avril)

    1. Zezima : 3,61BB xp (+2,3B). In a strange turn of events, Zezima reclaimed his long lost rank 1 by dumping a whopping 1742 effigies, using 132K slayer points and exchanging his funorb XP for runecrafting XP. Coming milestones: 100M sailing

    2. Durial321 : 3,09Bxp (unknown XP gains). After years of negociation with Jagex lawyers, Durial321 finally won his trial and was awarded his old account back with extra XP in his choice of skills and the ability to kill and loot from Jagex Mods . Coming milestones : 1K blue phats banked

    3. The Old Nite : 2,99B xp (-55M xp) Back from the grave due to the mexican Zombie outbreak of southern Sri Lanka, The Old Nite is back on the frontpage and I expect him to nolife dungeoneering in order to catch up to durial in the coming weeks. Coming milestones : 3B xp

    4. Zarfot : 2,89B xp (+540M). Zarfot pulled a Drumgun on us!!! Zarfot discovered a new training method to earn 3M xp in runecrafting per hour. Rumor has it, his return to runescape was sponsored by Xtranormal who observed a decline in viewers in the weeks following Zarfot`s retirement in late november. Coming milestones : 2M youtube subscribers

    5. Langerkiller : 2,83B xp (+2,41Bxp). Definitly the most well rounded, efficient, handsome and various other nice attributes, Langerkiller entered a deal with a bunch of ex top 15 players who gladly gave away some of their XP to this player in order to get better comments in the weekly update of the top 15. Credits goes to Paperbag who gave 800M xp in construction, prayer, herblore and ranged, Suomi who shed some of his agility, fishing and mining XP for a total of 600M xp and Drumgun who renounced to his melee skills, Hp skill and summoning skill for a whopping 1B xp. Aasiwat offered some cooking XP, but Langerkiller replied he didnt want a "noob" 200M skill. Coming milestones : I expect he will receive a lot of flack for entering the top 5 under these circumstances...

    Happy april fools day!!!

  8. I think the skills that have gone the longest before the best method changed are mining (granite), runecrafting (zmi), fishing (barb before cut/eat was discovered), slaying (slaying) and thieving (pyramid plunder)

Since I made a RSOF thread 4 months ago showing the best methods 9 skills have gotten faster/easier. Either by an update or players discovering methods.

    Slayer, slaying to cave crawlers

Combat, slaying to cave crawlers [yes thats right I classed combat as 1 skill :o]

Fishing- regular barb to cut/eat or C2 (still in testing) and urns

Woodcutting, teaks to pines and urns

    Hunter, black warlocks to jadinkos

Thieving, PP to monkey knife fighters

    Mining, urns

    Farming, new fruit tree patch

    Dungeoneering, a couple small updates

Paperbag sort of has the advantage of doing the fast skils first because a 10k increase in agility xp rate makes a much bigger difference than 10k more in firemaking

  9. Time update on a brand new time calc

    9. SU O M I 8016

    1. Allar 9588

    4. Drumgun 12251

    15. Erw J 13351

Biggest assumptions for this calculator are

    1. Players have no charms and effigies banked

    2. No time for making money

    3. C2 fishing is 100k/hr

    4. The player can't max summoning on crimson and blues alone and has to use greens

Copy for you to play with

    https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?hl=en&key=ttWbzzvtRUvQ9JmCtzeiscQ&hl=en#gid=1

This time the calculator will use effigy lamps on all skills slowest- fastest which is particularly useful for s u o m i because he has slow skills maxed

By that calculator, I am 14974 hours to maxing out. :ohnoes:

Its about 14k hours for someone starting at 13m xp in all skills.

    Edit.

I forgot to mention that it switches effigy usage between the skill pairs

P.S. what did you use for the times for farming runs? Remember that the fruit tree patch at the gnome stronghold doesnt need a separate spirit tree teleport. Plus farmers wandering to awkward positions *cough*lumbridge*cough* can add up to quite a bit too.

The best patches are shown below, I only do a max of 7 patches/day. The times for a run of 7 trees, 6 trees, ect are show beside the calculator (around R55). My timings aren't perfect it would be nice if someone could test them and see if they can be done faster.

Basically the simultaneous equation shown below finds how many 7 tree runs and how many 6 tree runs are needed to max farming it is better to use more 6 tree runs because they have a higher xp/hr. If it is not possible to max on 6/7 patches always doing 1 run/day either the number of 7 tree runs or 6 trees runs needed will be negative, the calculator will realise a negative number of farm runs is not possible and will ignore that result. It will try a combination of 7/6 trees, 6/5 trees ect until only 1 tree patch is used (this would apply to paperbag) for some reason there are never 2 ways to max farming using a combination of 2 different runs, it may be possible but I have yet to see a case where it occurs.

    ===Farming===

    (This is my favourite section)

Calquat trees ideally take 21 hours 20 minutes to grow so it is difficult to do more than 1 farm run per day.

Magic and calquat seeds are used

    (99) 13,034k

    (Dungeoneering) 275k

    (Herblore habitat) 431k

    13,034+ 275+ 431= 13,740

    200,000-13,740= 186,260

Over 7 years the player has time for 7x365= 2555 +1 (leap year)= 2556 farm runs

This means that the player must get at least 186,260,000/2556= 72,872xp each trip

The 6 fastest xp patches (in order of highest to lowest xp rate) are varrock, lumbridge, taverly, falador, calquat and tree gnome stronghold (wood tree) will give a total of 82,085.5xp , the fastest 5 give 68,171.7 total xp

It would be most efficient to do the max amount of runs with the best 5 patches and then some runs with 6 patches to get more xp without exceeding 7 years

Let A be the number of farm runs with 6 patches and B be the number of farm runs with 5 patches.

    With the simultaneous equations

    A+B= 2556

    (82,085.5A+ 68,171.7B)= 186,260,000

    Solving for A and B

    A= 869

    B= 1687

Doing 5 patches takes 215 seconds, doing 6 patches takes 257 seconds

    (869x257)+(1687x215)= 586,038 seconds

    586,038/60= 9,767.3 minutes

    9,767.3/60= 163 hours

This information is partly to show how I chose the fastest xp patches but it can also be very useful for other players.

The times taken for each of the fruit and wood trees patches and for the calquat patch are listed below.

This time includes getting to the patch from the nearest teleport spot, checking the tree's health, harvesting fruit (if applicable), cutting down the tree (for wood trees the farmer is paid), digging up the roots, planting the tree and finally paying the gardener.

In the form: Patch - Time (seconds) - Teleport

    --Wood trees--

Varrock - 21 - Varrock tele tab to varrock square

    Lumbridge - 26 - Lumbridge tele tab

Taverly - 27 - Taverly house tele tab

    Falador - 28 - Falador tele tab

Gnome stronghold - 32 - Duel ring to mobilising armies and spirit tree to stronghold

    --Fruit trees--

    Llyeta - 25 - Teleport crystal

    Brimhaven - 31 - Spirit tree

    Herblore Habitat - 36 - Juju bag

Gnome stronghold - 36 - Duel ring, spirit tree

Catherby - 43 - Catherby teleport (Lunar magic)

Gnome village - 60 - Duel ring, spirit tree

    --Calquat--

Karamja - 26 - Tai bwo wannai teleport (treasure trails reward)

The actual times when doing a farm run are longer than these because of the game loading when teleporting. [/hide]
