  1. I have been planning on training all of my melee combat skills (Attack, Strength, Defense, Constitution) to 86 in order to use the new combat abilities made available after The World Wakes Quest. The last time I trained combat, it was all of those skills from 78-82, and I did it at fire giants. It went pretty fast, and I thought that was probably the best way to go. I just had a couple of questions though: Armor I'm pretty broke, and can't really afford incredible armor. I've got pretty much a 1m budget for armor. I was wondering if I would be fine in my penance armor, or something like dragon platelegs (I already have those) and some cheap top. Monsters Are Fire Giants my best bet? Like I said, I don't have a huge budget, so I don't want to be training against anything that takes a whole ton of food. Ideally, I want to take little to no damage, with Vampyrism active. Order Out of those skills, is there a particular order I should train them in? Obviously Constitution will be trained as I train the other skills. I was thinking I would start with Strength, then Attack, then Defense, but I don't know. Is there a particular order that is best? Weapon The ideal weapon of choice is, of course, determined by what monsters I end up fighting. I just remember that while I was training on fire giants, the other people in the room had very diverse opinions in what was best. Some said a quick weapon witha shield or defenders, while others said it was by far best to use heavy, 2-handed weapons. Just wondering which is best for whichever you guys suggest. Thanks in advance!
  2. Lol, I don't buy spins, and I certainly don't see what's "fun" about wasting time to get a worthless item. *sigh* Sorry, I realize this has turned into a rat, I was just really disappointed with this weapon.
  3. And I understand this, but it wasn't just an SOF promotional, as I got a lot of my ore from mining.
  4. I just got my Starfury sword, and am strongly disappointed. It took me quite a while to get the starlight ore, as I didn't want to buy it off people, and the weapon is not that great. I can see the use behind the scaling levels, but why have them stop at 60? Anyway, I've got two suggestions that contradict each other for this topic. 1. Make the weapon single handed. It takes much longer to get than the money for say, a BGS, and a BGS has quite better stats. Now, if it was single handed, I would use it a lot more because I could use a shield or godbook with it. But all that time I spent collecting starlight ore was useless because I'll never use it! What's the point of using that, when I could use so many better 2h weapons? 2. Make the scale on starfury weapons go to 80, and maybe even 99. That would be another reason I would use it: If it were better than the other 2h weapons. I really like the idea of scaling weapons, I just don't understand why limit their max damage to level 60 (1/52 of max exp in attack). As I mentioned, these two suggestions contradict each other. Both combined would, imo, be too powerful, but with the ever increasing damaging weapons, that Jagex seems to have no end of, who knows.
  5. Yeah, because I never buy spins, I didn't realize until after posting that this just makes it easier for people to get heaps of xp in skills they want. I really wish Jagex would remove that, but we know they're not going to.
  6. We've all gotten the lamps on the SOF that only gave us exp in one specific skill, that we didn't even want. Sure it's nice to get free experience, even if we don't want it in that skill, but how about an improvement? On the Adventurers logs on Runescape.com, each skill is categorized into a skill set. Those skill sets are: Gathering: Woodcutting, Fishing, Mining, Hunter, and Farming Combat: Strength, Attack, Constitution, Magic, Defense, Prayer, Summoning, Ranged Support: Thieving, Agility, Slayer, and Dungeoneering Artisan: Firemaking, Construction, Cooking, Fletching, Smithing, Crafting, Herblore, and Runecrafting In these 4 skill sets, all 25 skills are listed. Rather than having skill specific lamps, which are rarely exactly what you want, why not have skill set lamps. You can put a 'Gathering' lamp into any of those 5 skills. I don't think this would be that hard to implement either. Any time that a strength lamp would have been created as a potential reward for the SOF, just replace it with a "Combat Lamp". This way, you never get the lamps that are worthless to you. What do you guys think?
  7. Hey, I was just wondering if the level of the Aura you have (Corruption, Greater Corruption, Master Corruption) changes the size of the wings. Thanks in advance!
  8. With what I wear regularly the boots do. I wear Ringmaster when I'm not fighting, and it totally ruins the 'fancy' effect if it just looks like I'm wearing socks. I can't wear Ringmaster Boots because they are too dark, and don't match the rest of it. And again - Black (g) looked a lot better when the helmet had a gold plume, no viking horns, and it made you look at least slightly evil. Now it just looks like you're going into war very poorly equipped.
  9. The new graphics are terrible. I'm sure Jagex thinks they're an improvement, but honestly - none of the armor looks anywhere near as good as it did before they did all this! Black (G), simple armor I've always considered to show slight wealth now looks like I'm trying to impersonate a dragon, but I only used spare pieces of metal I found lying in the bottom of the ocean! It makes everything look like a freaking viking! Bring back my nice looking armor, the Dragon armor looks like it's cloth, not metal!

    New Update

    Keywords. Unfortunately, I can't.
  11. Mobilizing armies is pretty close to water, but I don't know if it's close enough. And same case with the north Ardougne bank, there's a river to the west of it. Maybe Draynor, or Jatizo?

    New Update

Or I've got an old PowerPC Mac, and can't afford a better one at the moment. This is Jagex telling me - "because you're a bit poor for now, you can't play our game." I'm paying for membership - and now they want me to buy a new computer just so that I can continue playing?

    Bye bye Mask :(

That really sucks - sorry to hear that. one tip though - while a long string of numbers and letters is harder for a person to guess, it's easier for a computer to guess that then it is for a computer to just guess like 4 random words. Like say maybe "deatheatpartyballoon" (don't use that one)

    New Update

Because I'm not independently wealthy, I don't have a computer that can run the stupid new Java required to play, and the dumb client they suggested we use doesn't even work! It's been on the RSOF for a day now, tell the mods "Hey - believe it or not, we want to play, and get cool bonus's too!", but the mods either don't see it, or don't even care.
  15. Alright - thanks. Do you know if they plan on fixing it so that it runs on previous generations?
  16. Alright, thank you very much for everything - I'll follow that topic, and see if we get any news. Thanks again!
  17. Thanks a ton guys - now I have a new problem though - it downloaded fine, but when I tried to open it, it loaded the application, and then gave me this - Sorry to keep bugging you guys, but I'd really like to not have to just stop RS right before LP, and a huge exp bonus week.
  18. Thanks for the tip - I do have Leopard, but where can I download the client still? Is it on the RS homepage, because I can still access that, but not the login page, where it offered me the client.
  19. For a while now, I've been getting a message that says "Unsupported Java Warning - You are currently running a version of Java that will soon not be supported by Jagex... ETC." I was hoping this wouldn't come for a while, but today I was on, waiting for the update. When it finally came, I tried reloading the page, and it wouldn't load. At first I thought it was just down for a bit, but then I had to leave for around 5 hours. I came back and it said the Java failed to load. I realized that this probably was the update I had been dreading. my computer cannot run any better version of Java then I have, and I'm not sure if the client would work on my PowerPC Mac. So, I didn't try either of them, but now I can't even load the main screen to try and download the client. Any help? I've been paying for membership, and if I can't play RS anymore, just because I can't afford a new computer...
  20. Again, I enjoy your suggestions, as it helps me realize how I can improve these weapons. I don't want to make them game-breaking, so if you think they are, please explain to me how I could make them more fair. I've taken away the bonus damage dealt by the bow's special attack, to make it more fair. I see your point with the pvp, so to solve this we'll just say that you can't bring them into the wilderness. If there's a way to prevent lended items from being brought into the wilderness, they can certainly prevent these from being brought into the wilderness, or into certain mini-games. I'm sorry I wasn't clear on the Ranged Strength bonus with the bow. I am unaware if any bows currently give a ranged strength bonus, but this one does. It's not the only bonus though. Whatever bolt/arrow you have in there increases your ranged strength by the normal amount it would. I've scaled the bow down to +40 though, to make it a bit more fair. You'll notice that all of the weapons actually take 5 away from your prayer bonus for balance. This means that even someone with 99 prayer couldn't hold something for too long, because it drains faster. If you think I need to take away even more prayer bonus to balance more, tell me. I'm afraid you're incorrect in saying that the highest boss hp is 10k, as the first 2 I thought of were higher. Corporeal Beast Nex Thanks again for your input, I'm trying to make these weapons fair, so please give me all your ideas.
  21. First off let me say that I'm sorry you feel that I have dumb ideas. The weapons are supposed to be amazing - just because you can't read the topic sub-title doesn't mean it isn't there. They're also supposed to be fast. I realize that they might be too fast, but you could have at least tried to reason that out instead of getting angry. I'll see about editing the attack speed, to make it more fair. Having a staff that rarely misses isn't a bad thing, it's a good thing. Besides, not everyone owns maxed mage gear. As to answer what the bolt/arrows do - well, I thought it was pretty self explanatory. They act as projectiles, used to cause damage. The ammunition doesn't always need to be unique, or give special bonuses. Besides, compare that hit you showed us, a 1053 to almost any given boss. That would most likely not even get rid of half their health. Besides, I'd guess that hit is with boosting armor, which again, not everyone has. You also haven't seen the quest I'm writing yet that is required to obtain the Obsidian used to make these. They are not tradeable. Thank you for your input anyway, as it helps me make the weapons more fair.
  22. Thanks for your input - I'll edit the original stats, and take your ideas into consideration. I also forgot to mention 1 thing in the original post for the bow. Those were what the * were for, I just forgot to add it in.
  23. Ok, I revised it down to this - "Special Attack: Drains 1/2 of users current health, inflicting anywhere from 1/2 as much bonus damage as was drained, to an equal amount as was drained. Uses 60% of Special Attack bar." How's that sound?
  24. So I had this idea for a few new weapons I'd like to see in the game. They would all be expensive, but I believe, worth it. After I thought of the melee one I realized I should come up with one for each class. Each weapon has a special attack, including the staff. They can all be made, though it's expensive and takes lots of skills, or can be obtained as a drop from certain monsters (Namely Nex). So, here are my ideas. Melee Weapon Weapon Name: Berserker Blade Requirements to use: 85 Attack, 70 Strength Bonuses: Attack Speed: About equivalent to a scimitar. Special Attack: Drains 1/2 of users current health, inflicting anywhere from 1/2 as much bonus damage as was drained, to an equal amount as was drained. After the bonus damage from the sacrifice is added, an additional 150 damage is inflicted. Uses 60% of Special Attack bar. Examine Text: "A powerful sword, used by Bandos in the original Godwars." How to create: Use an unstrung Obsidian Amulet on a "Unholy Steel Blade" Unholy Steel Blade is obtained by using a Steel Longsword with an Unholy Elixer. Unholy Elixer is obtained by mixing a Holy Elixer with a Zammorak wine. 1st step requires 80 crafting, 2nd step requires 85 Prayer, 3rd step requires 70 Herblore. Magic Weapon Weapon Name: Doom Bringer Requirements to use: 85 Attack, 70 Magic Bonuses: Attack Speed Difference: Increases normal spell attack speed by 1.1X Special Attack: The special attack gives an invisible 4 level magic boost for 1 minute. It also has a chance to give 10-100 prayer points (with the new system), with the ability to go 50 over your prayer level allows. Drains 80% of the special attack bar. Examine Text: "An Obsidian Encrusted Staff, that was formed from the ashes when Zaros was defeated." How to create: Use an unstrung Obsidian Amulet on an Unholy Battlestaff. Unholy Battlestaff obtained by using an Unholy Elixer on a Battlestaff. Unholy Elixer obtained the same way as above. Steps require same skills as above. Ranged Weapon Weapon Name: Shadow Bow* Requirements to use: 85 Attack, 80 Ranged Bonuses: Attack Speed Difference: Barely faster than an "accurate" shot fired from any bow. Special Attack: Fires three arrows at once, which all become super poisoned** when special attack is used. Uses 50% of Special Attack Bar. Examine Text: "A strong Obsidian Encrusted bow, said to be crafted by Armadyl Himself." How to create: Use an unstrung Obsidian amulet on any poisoned bow. Poisoned bow obtained by using a "Bow poison" on any bow. Bow Poison obtained by using a super poison with a Unholy Elixer. Unholy Elixer obtained the same way as above. Creation stat requirements are the same as above. *Although the item is called a bow, it can fire either arrows or bolts. **Despite the fact that the special attack "poisons" arrows or bolts, the items them selves aren't poisoned. When you go to pick them up, they'll be the same as normal. They simply have the same chance to poison the enemy as a P++ item would. Obsidian comes from a mine, only available after a special quest is completed. I'll be writing the quest, and once I have it finished, I can count on you guys to critic it, and give suggestions. I am open to suggestions for the quest, or to make the items more worth it. I realized that some details are overpowered, while others are underpowered.
