  1. No Daedric is only heavy armor. I'm still going to go for daedric smithing so I can make daedric weapons through. And better enchatning so I can have better enchanted weapons. My weapon I have soul trap on doesn't really matter but enchanted frost/fire/shock damage is kind of low. Also need to go get Azura's star.
  2. That would be pretty cool. And I think daedric armour > dragon because it's so much harder to get the mats. Dragon is the best light armor, Deadric is the best heavy.
  3. Bruce Willis was a ghost the whole time... have fun with that.
  4. Giants and mammoths seem to be grand souls, haven't found another reliable source.
  5. The 6 MB save file lag is PS3 exclusive (It needed more exclusives anyway, right?) So if you're playing on an xbox you'll see no issue. Check the mages college, they have a merchant/trainer for every school, but no master level trainer for enchanting... Also the court mages usually have a few mid level destruction spells, like Farengar in Whiterun.
  6. That conversation between the adventurer and the king was very funny. I'm looking to expand my destruction skill but I'm not sure whether to focus on fire, ice or lightning. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each? Fire is a small DoT for some extra damage. Ice drains stamina, very useful against giants. Lightning drains magicka, useful against mages. But i'm a pure mage, which plays very differently from a battlemage.
  7. Yep, got a view on that when I was coming out of bleak falls barrow the first time, it's a rare sight since it's usually cloudy. So 94 enchanting, I really wish there was a master level enchanting trainer, I could train up the rest of the levels and be done with it. Where's that dwarf from dragon age when I need him? Did a quest for the bards college, got the second word of whirlwind sprint while I was there. Also for people having loading issues and the like, there's a few fixes up on the skyrim nexus. While it hasn't completely resolved my issues, it has helped, it doesn't load as often and when it does it's not as long. In fact I actually bumped back up to medium quality after the fixes and it still runs better than it did. Yeah this is a bit of an old computer...
  8. Dragonrend makes killing all dragons so much easier, it forces them to land, and usually if you're in melee range they use melee attacks.
  9. I don't think it works that way... At level 70 I was able to get enchater lvl 4, which made my enchantments 80% better, so I could enchant a health drain on to a weapon for 16 points. At level 80 I got enchanter lvl 5, which made my enchantments 100% better, which translated into 18 points of drain health damage. It doesn't change as you go up levels. Also low damage because i'm not using grand soul gems to grind enchanting.
  10. So I picked up a couple of books earlier ingame. The first one was the oblivion crisis, basically retelling the events of the main story of oblivion. So you went down in history as the hero of Kvatch and the savior of Bruma. And of course, after those events, you seemed to just fall off the face of Tamriel, as expected. [spoiler=Main story spoilers]The second one was called Alduin/Akatosh transcribe. I haven't read all of it but the first page really jumped out at me. The nordish name for Akatosh is Alduin, and you defeat Alduin on the main story as the final boss. So you really did just kill, not only god, but the most powerful of the gods. I hope there will be some DLC that plays around with this idea.
  11. So i've been doing the mage guild quests and, it turns out Arcano is........ EVIL!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdhhQhqi_AE But besides things that i've had pinned down since I first starting playing Skyrim I got to the quest where Arcano (It's so transparent btw so I dont consider it to be a spoiler) reveals he is evil, and he makes those magic things pop up in town, and one got stuck in a wall. After looking for it for a few minutes I used detect life (Thankfully I have a shout for it, as i've yet to see an actual detect life spell in this game) to see where it was, after looking around that area I turned off clipping (Still console command TCL) and went through the wall and there it was. How exactly are you supposed to get around that on console versions? Anyway i'm noticing they're trying to really pull off a harry potter thing with the mages guild questline in Skyrim. Also there was a quest I did where I went up a staircase and it looked exactly like Ganon's tower in OoT, it was a nice little shoutout. Also i'm enchatning 80 now, which mean my enchantments are 100% stronger. On armor they're pretty weak compared to mages robes, i'm guessing that's to keep mages from wearing full suits of armor. But I still have that extra effect at lvl 100 to look forward to, though it seems there are no master trainers in Skyrim, after 75 it's all grinding.
  12. Not like there wont be lots more dragons. I already finished the main quest, I haven't seen nearly as many recently :( I run into lots and lots of dragons, but I suppose you could have not as many, since they're a random amount. But i'm sure there's more than 4 in your world.
  13. All craftable items give the same exp. Though you wont see me using a grand soul gem to train. Well maybe Azura's star. So it's best to just make thousands of iron daggers then? Yup. Tried it, it's true. Iron daggers and leather bracers are the fastest, since they only take one iron ingot/leather and some leather strips. And is the cheapest way. Daedric armor takes Daedra Hearts... and I have no idea where to get them <_< I just want the daggers/sword really. Going to wait until Dragon Armor to make the armor set. You get Daedra hearts... from Daedra :-o When I got them I just ate them. To gain their courage. Rich, tasty, courage. I fought a few on the Azura's quest and a couple on Mehrunes quest (you get a letter about a museum opening up for that quest, same quest I was talking about earlier.) The trend seems too be you fight daedra on daedric prince's quests. Except sheogorath's, but he's awesome enough on his own. (Or she if you played a female character in oblivion, since Sheogorath alludes that he is the same person that was in oblivion.)
  14. What I was meaning is I want to see how in skyrim's history, Martin is talked about, and my oblivion character is talked about, Bethesda can do that without mentioning a name. But i'm more interested in the fact that neither were mentioned at all. Talking about the mythic dawn cult and the oblivion crisis, Martin and the oblivion hero were all tied together, you really can't talk about one without the other. I know Mehrunes Dagon did infact still enter Tamriel, I saw it on a loading screen. But was that all lost about what happened, when looking at Alduin's wall no one thought to record the events of the oblivion crisis?
  15. So I found the mythic dawn quest, sadly, they are not in this game. It's just a lone guy trying to preserve history. But I was disapointed with this quest. I've been away from this world for 200 years, I really want to know how my oblivion character went down in history. In terms of the main quests of oblivion I helped to defeat mehrunes dagon, and then I stepped into a mysterious portal and never came back out, while ascending to godhood, taking the place as the god of madness. Though the people of Tamriel don't know that last part. You'd think i'd atleast get a footnote. But more than that when the quest talked about the oblivion crisis, it never mentioned he was defeated. Martin was never mentioned, no Akatosh coming in to save the day, and it said that the mythic dawn successfully toppled the empire, killed all the heirs. So from that i'm gathering that in oblivion, you were meant to fail? You failed, Martin was killed, history was changed, Mehrunes Dagon came into Cyrodiil and [bleep]ed everything up. Talk about depressing. Which goes with another thing I heard ingame, most everybody lives in Skyrim now, I can only assume Mehrunes Dagon destroyed Cyrodiil, a volcano erupted and covered morrowind is smoke, and for some reason most other races migrated as well. So maybe Alduin had the right idea, the world seems like it's dying anyway, civil war, dragons returning (which Alduin returning was a sign of the end times anyway), massive devastation, volcanoes erupting, Skyrim apparently being one of the few, if not the only, hospitable place left. Maybe Alduin was trying to do us a mercy by killing us before things got much, much, much worse. Stupid Bethesda, now I want to know what happened but there's no place to read it.
  16. All craftable items give the same exp. Though you wont see me using a grand soul gem to train. Well maybe Azura's star.
  17. So I asked this on another forum, but what's the first thing you guys noticed about skyrim that stood out? Good or bad. For me it was the water texture, that's the most impressive water texture i've ever seen in a game.
  18. PC. When people make mods for it...you'll be sorry for going Xbox. There's already nude mods. Damn they're fast, but will probably be required for some mods anyway. In oblivion I had to get HGEC to use a race pack mod for some reason, they were nice races too. I wanted to look earlier, apperently there's a skyrimnexus. So Morrowwind and Oblivion mods are both on TESnexus, why couldn't skyrim use the same site?
  19. There's one you have to fight at the very end, like after that priest there's one quest left. The others are optional, and there's like 8 IIRC. [hide]Also, there's one you have to fight at the end of the Mage's Guild/College plotline, and he's stupidly hard. As in unless you're maxed out, you can count on him killing you in two hits. Also, don't try to summon anything against him. He just uses some spell to gain control of it and try to kill you with it as well.[/hide] I assumed those were liches in this game, since they looked like liches did in oblivion.
  20. There are many types of dragons. Fire (normal), Ancient (really freaking hard), Frost, Blood, Black, and Green (which can corrupt animals to make them attack you). I've found most dragons to be pretty easy if you just strafe their head and attack their sides. Being a werewolf is pretty sweet, since you can just howl and chase down anyone running away. And yes, you are 100% immune to disease when you become one. I had a run in with some giants when I was level 5 (level 20 now, haven't even gotten that one guy's horn from his tomb or whatever yet) that was pretty funny. I shot an arrow into one's face, THEN decided to save just as he started running towards me (bad bad idea) since I thought I would have enough time to run if things went south... they did. He stepped on me, died. Reloaded, sent my flying with his club, twice. Fourth time, I managed to sprint by, and started running. Out of nowhere, a second giant appears, and so does a sabre cat. Ran for my life towards Whiterun (I was just west of there I think), and hid in the moat at the entrance of the town. It was short enough that they couldn't get me, and I just filled them with arrows  Does anyone know if there is a level cap? Steam has an achievement for getting level 50, so atleast 50 I guess. So, oddly enough, I was walking by an npc and he talked to me, and I actually found it useful. He mentioned Azura's shrine and it was added to my map, Azura's star is one of the rare items that i'll stop whatever i'm doing to go out of my way to get. And so far they haven't asked me to give it up in this game.
  21. [spoiler=don't read if you don't want to find out how to become a werewolf]Becoming a werewolf is part of the Companions quests. I also had a Dark Brotherhood assassin coming after me. No idea what I did to cause that. I had a band of thugs with an assassination order chase after me. I was farming a potato field, and accidentally "stole" a shovel. Like two days later it turns out that farmer put a hit on me if the note on their bodies is any indication. Cue me heading back and killing that [bleep] of a farmgirl. It's not always so specific. When I read the notes assassins are carrying it just says somebody wants me dead, i've fought 2.
  22. I dont see much of a damage difference on dragons as long as you dont use the type of element they are. Fire damage doesn't seem to do as much on a fire dragon, but ice seems to do the same as shock damage on the same fire dragon.
  23. I've seen about 5 named dragons during the main quest. Do you remember the name? No I dont. Two giants killed him though, he really didn't care about me that much. That was a chaotic battle though, 2 giants, 2 mammoths, 2 spriggans,me, and a dragon, all in one battle. Twas very epic, and the dragon didn't get any kills, I had to kill everything in that battle besides the dragon.
