Cleared the cache, no result. Still freezes on the same "Checking for updates 100%" screen. Side note, rs 2007 loads fine with swiftkit.

Yup, several times.

I have the same problem. It looks like this. It freezes like this. If I resize the screen it blackscreens. I've uninstalled java and swiftkit. I re-installed Java 6, not 7. Still no luck. I don't know what happened. I also attempted to load in safe mode. Instead it goes straight to a black screen after the above pic gets to 100% I can play on the client just fine. Its only swiftkit where it freezes.
