  1. I agree. There is no reason why something like this doesn't get put into place. How would one go about contacting/suggesting things to Jagex?
  2. Well...you could do it with pretty much any language, but I am quite sure that you yourself see that it would be much easier to do it in VB. You could do it in Perl, C, C++...hell, even Java itself. However, to do it in any of these languages one would actually have to code an API that would integrate with the JVM client. That means that Perl is automatically disqualified (eh...who the writes APIs in Perl?). It would be much easier to do it in C, but even easier to do it in VB, since there are already a load of hooks available for MS JVM client. Thecreature, quite frankly, I think that you don't know what you are talking about. I mean, wtf? Recognizing colors? Do you realize that it would be very inprobable to implement? What if, for example, a guy walks in with colors matching those of the rock or if somebody drops an ore that matches the color of the rock. Seriously, there is far too many things that don't make sense here. Or what if the rock starts steaming? How the hell do you expect the script to recognize colors of the "steam?" And "includes" is nothing that you have described it to be. It is not little "sub-programs" at all. It is used to pull in declarations from an external file. It is called, "a preprocessor." For example, here is a default #include line from C, #include This allows you to use the default (like the printf predefined function) declarations in your source code. After about 5 years of schooling, I have learned this much info. I've used it in the past to make money. I also have a CCNA, Network+, and MCSE certs right now. Currently I am working for a Security+ cert. I can provide you with a scanned copy if you request nicely and I have the time. I am not just shooting my mouth off.
  3. Excuse my ignorance ragnar, but is that even possible? I mean, I hear you could only get 1 clue scroll. You won't recieve another if you currently have one in bank or in inventory. How the heck did you have 6 of them?

  5. That wouldn't be a very bright thing to do. RS is all about strategy. If you put the time to create a lvl 90 combat with 70 range, 70 mage, and 75 str, you should be able to take advantage of those things. This is why wildy is actually fun. Whenever I go, I go as melee, but I also bring drag hide in case a mage comes. It has saved me loads of times from teams of mages. If one couldn't switch between fighting styles, wildy would be pretty darn boring. If you are a melee fighter and are caught by a mage with bind (or ice spells), you are basically definitely screwed. But if you bring a bow and some dhide with you, you can switch and range the mage to death.
  6. I'll be very frank...The only way that I see it to be plausible to actually create a bot/auto script for RS is to basically record your moust clicks and then send them to the appropriate window. This can rather easily be done with Visual Basic. This type of a script is rather unreliable and does NOT protect you from random events. Random events are just that...random. I am rather certain that they are generated through something like, Math.random(); function generated by a server and interpreted by the client There is very little possibility of detecting them. That's just the problem with RS2. Almost everything is done through the server. There are definitely a load of code that gets uploaded and loaded from the user's computer (check your Java cache and open all the .gtz (I believe) files you find with WinRAR). Most of these things simply include the large majority of the login script and some random things such as the timeout script (which I believe still gets checked by the server) and all sounds files. The only plausible method seems to be to actually get the file containing the information you wish to audit, audit it on your home computer, run it from your home computer, and run something like Proxomitron to filter/edit all the headers from packets that specify your REMOTE_ADDR and change it to that of the given server. This might trick the login server into believing that the file is really residing on it, and not on your home computer... Alternatively, one can try to actually filter the packets (doubt its possibility, since RS uses TCP and not UDP, meaning more authentication gets done) with some other utilities (which I won't name for obvious reasons), but I doubt that this would work, although theoretically it should allow you to do some thing like change the amount of money at the trade screen. Anyway, to implement something of the above nature into making an auto-miner script is rather improbable, imo.

  9. No, you are not a noob because of a low lvl character. You are a noob when you post posts that really have no substantial value and have incoherent titles. That is when you are a noob.
  10. Without the FREE worlds and FREE players Runescape would crash. Amen. Also, one doesn't have to 'click' on banners in order for them to generate money. It is called, "impressions" and they can go up to 5 cents each. There are two banners when playing. They circulate every 5 or so minutes. Do the math.
  11. Indeed I do. Friend hosts a security portal with over 10,000 members. Gets approximately 3,000 a month from 2 banners circulating (1 provided by Google and the other by another marketing company). RuneScape on the other hand has several hundred thousand F2Pers players who stay on playing for a lot longer then visitors stay reading something from a site. I am starting to think that you have no idea what you are talking about. Ads earn a load of money, if you know what you are doing that is, and obviously, Jagex knows what they are doing.

  13. The fire spell isn't a bad idea, but I really think that the damage idea is not very thought out. What if a lvl 99 firemaker comes to lumbridge and begins training? All noobs will die in like 5 mins.
  14. You guys want to hear something funny? Did you know that the only reason why P2P gets so many updates is because of F2P players? Seriously, this is not a joke. I wouldn't be surprised if Jagex makes 2x more cash (and even though I am too lazy to calculate, I am pretty sure it should be more) from F2P then from members.

Members have the right to go on f2p servers because we're the ones paying for your servers :wink: Actually the adds pay for the f2p servers. :wink: Don't act so special because you pay a few dollars for membership, that does not make you better than ANY f2p player. Indeed you are correct. The Ads and popups that F2P players get as a result of playing more then pays for the servers it is hosted on. Quite frankly, I would imagine that approximately 30-50 percent of the F2P players with over 600 total skill level (gotten in a year or less) actually pay Jagex through the ads and popups that they recieve close to what members pay each month. This might seem like an overexageration, but you can actually do the math for yourself and see the numbers that you get. I am more then positive that you will be surprised.
  17. I think that this is a very good idea. In fact, a surprisingly good idea. The only problem with the monster being on Crandor is that there isn't much space there available for new NPCs. Perhaps it is time that Jagex introduces a new area into F2P with this new monster? I think that F2P is well overdue for such an update. I disagree. Although I cannot speak for the majority, I believe that people like the "sir" who wrote his oppinion above me is simply 'ignorant' and lacks a good perception of logic.
  18. This actually isn't that dumb of an idea. In fact, I am sure that the principles of what the poster is proposing will be implemented in the future almost certainly. No, such an ability to make customized robes will not be released as a new skill. Rather, it might be released as an extension to crafting; kneeding robes. It should be introduced into the game just as many other new abilities are introduced; through a quest. As my proposition, this quest should involve getting a set of instructions, on making a special design, from various NPCs and then having to follow those instructions to kneed a robe with a particular design. After completing this quest, the player should be allowed to make future robes with various designs. Not only would something like this appeal to many players of RuneScape (majority of them being female), it is also fairly easy to put into action. The individual robes do not have to be saved as individual pictures, rather as data coordinates of shapes and colors, thus this would not be a problem with file size storage of saved data (robes). There are very few negatives with such an ability, and even though I haven't given this ability much thought, I already see a rather rewarding potential for both, the players and Jagex as a company.
  19. It would cost over 1k to use each spell so it would not be used by miners much at all (2 laws and 1 nature = 1k, plus elementals). The more I think about it, the more it would make sense to make it only P2P and substitue the 2 laws and 1 nature with "2 laws and 1 soul." Soul runes are used for higher spells and it would be pretty interesting if they could be used for more then just for rarely used spells. It would also only make sense if the rules for this spell would apply same as to those of tele spells (no usage after lvl 20 wildy), so that rune miners wouldn't have a heap of advantage. I think that something like this is very real. How would one go about contacting Jagex about such ideas? Perhaps someone can point them to this thread.
  20. Yes, the lvl should be around 80. I propose 2 laws and 1 nature to be included.
