  1. Hello everyone, Most of the players on RuneScape are being hacked while playing because you login on a phising website or get infected by an keylogger. The best thing you can do is READ and STAY SAFE! You can protect yourself and your account for 100%! This guide is based for the World Wide Web but examples and protection will be written for RuneScape. In this guide I will give you some basic lessons, including some examples of phising and do's and don'ts. Content of the guide You can go easy to one of the categories by clicking on the menu. What is malware? How do I get it? How do I remove it?Phising, not only for RuneScape.Protect your account!I've been hacked, what now? What is malware? How do I get it? How do I remove it? The first thing you need to know about malware it is a combiniation of different infections such as ramsomware, keyloggers, adware and even a trojan horse. Most of the time the malware wants you to buy spefic software (ramsom/adware) or wants your personal details like passwords and credit card information (keylogger). You get infected when you are a bad person on the internet who doesn't update his software and who watch porn. ;) - The most dangerous software is Java, if you don't need it or don't use it UNINSTALL IT NOW! Last version: Version 8 Update 45. When you're infected there are different ways to remove the infection; easy is to re-install your computer and lose all your files, an other way is to ask help on a official UNITE forum, such as BleepingComputer, a trained helper will remove the virus with you. Please note there is a wait time what can take up to 5 days before you get a response. Phising, not only for RuneScape. Phising, it's every where! Check your mailbox and the spambox and see how much phising you get, an example of an RuneScape Phising mail: [spoiler=RuneScape Phising Mail] For your own safety; links has been disabled in the spoiler. As you can see in the end of the email there is a small grammar error: "To ensure you always receive your RuneScape account emails to your inbox, please [email protected] to your address book." - No need to worry, 2 of 3 phising mails have that small errors and even gramatical errors are normal. ALWAYS READ AND IF YOU DON'T TRUST IT DON'T CLICK ANYWHERE! Jagex will NEVER contact you by email for an account infraction or to become a Player or Forum Moderator! As the title of this category is: Phising, not only for RuneScape I want to give you an example of the "Microsoft Phising". A "staff member" of Microsft will call you that your computer has been infected and let do you a lot of things to let you know that your computer is infected, Microsoft will NEVER contact you about that... As an Security Noob I read a lot of blogs and I want to share this one with you. This guide currently has the status WIP (Work in Process) what menas that new content will be added and bugs will be fixed, more is comming soon!
